Can a holter monitor diagnose brachyardia?

Holter monitor is mainly meant for picking up bradycardia and tachycardia. The rhythm record is automatically analysed by the computer program. But the result should be overviewed by a physician. |

Bradycardia? A holter monitor will record the episode so that the doctor can look it over and diagnose it. Bradycardia, actually, is just a slow heart rate. The purpose of a holter monitor is to confirm that this is happening, and then diagnose WHY the patient has bradycardia (i.e. infection, disease, disorder, disformity, etc.) |

If the episode happens within the time frame the holter is on you-be it 24, 48 or 72 hours, whatever time your doctor has ordered, then yes, it can be used to diagnose it. However, if it doesn't happen within the time frame you have the holter on, then it may not be useful to diagnose that condition and your doctor may opt to either get another holter or do another test. Good luck. |

Yes. A holter monitor records a person's heart rate rhythm for 24 hours. |

actually a holter monitor only records a person's heart rate, rhythm and other characteristics of the heart pattern. It takes a Dr. that's qualified in interpreting cardiac rhythms to diagnose a rhythm of bradycardia. |

Yes it does, and you can know what type of bradycardia it is e.g Sinus bradycardia etc. |
