I have a couple of bad habits, actually. One is, I tend to judge people I don't know well by the way they looked or acted when I first met them. Another is, I tend to curse a lot, and its pretty unprofessional, so I need to curb that habit. I drive too fast, too, but let me keep one vice, please?

Smoking, my doc just put me on 3 different meds for asthma, complicated by smoking. duh!!!!!
I have managed to quit all the other habits that I practiced, finally! But I seem to have alot of trouble giving up this one. I guess i used up my will power.lol

I would like to stop 2 bad habit that is stop whistling. I'v learned it like 1 or 2 months ago. now i am keep whistling and wistling in front of everybody. my uncle said whistling is a bad habit. i need to stop it. now i'm trying to stop that bad habit.another one is stop wasting time. i waste a lot of time on the computer. i allways try to stop that but i can't. i don't know why can't stop wasting time on the computer.

Keeping things in when I should really say them straight away even though whoever I'm talking to might not like it.
I keep things in and then one thing just makes me explode and it's usually my bf that gets it, but I know sometimes if I told him I want him to do something or spend more time with me or whatever that he'd try for about 2 weeks and then go back to how it was before I exploded at him. so yeah I'd like to stop Keeping things in until I explode.

yahoo answers. I come on here like everyday and ask stupid questions. I don't even really care if I ever know the answers. Then I answer twenty questions. And Why! For points which add up to nothing! At least those tickets at a arcade will get you a penil or a slinky. I really should be working on a paper right now but I can't help but procrastinate everything to the last minute.

I have tons of bad habbits......Ones I would like to stop would be, Laughing at others (cuz I wasnt raised liek that). Nail biting (I know its bad for my health) Eating ad foods, ( Ive gaind 4 punds in 2 weeks) Sleeping in ( I cant look half way decent.) Being Lazy ( I just sit around when i come home from school). Well thats all....so what are yours??

Well I have been struggling with the bad habit of smoking for years and since october I have been trying to quit. I did really good for about 5 weeks and then I started smoking here and there or taking hits off friends smokes. I have been sick for 4 days so I havent smoked but I know once I feel better I am going to want one but I am going to keep trying not to smoke.

I have many bad habits I would like to stop, but since the question only asks for one, I think I will choose gossip. It seems like everyone gossips, like it's a normal, healthy part of social interaction. The problem is that it messes with people's minds.
For example, if I have a job at a grocery store. One day, I see my boss doing some money exchanging and it got a little crazy and it seems like he could have walked away with more cash from the register than he was supposed to. So, maybe I tell my friend the story about what happened because I find it amusing. Then my friend says, "Well, if you think he stole, why don't you turn him in?" Then the conversation continues and we delve deep into what exactly he's doing and how bad it is and how I can prove it, etc. So, in a few minutes I've gone from an amusing story to the lynch mob.
Not only does this affect how I think about my boss, it will affect the way I treat him and the way I feel when I'm around him. Also, my friend will then feel more comfortable gossiping with me after that. It's a vicious cycle.
Baha'u'llah said "...backbiting quencheth the light of the heart, and extinguisheth the life of the soul." That, in itself, is a good enough reason for me.
It's kinda hard to not do it sometimes, though. It's especially hard when people are gossipping with you. I don't even want to hear it. So, now I just change the subject or say it's none of my business or some such thing. Unfortunately, people take offense when you don't want to hear them griping about their boyfriend, but that just seems crazy to me.
What about you? Are you trying to find some habit to get rid of?
