First run it under tap water for about 2 minutes. Then put ice on it, but...
don't put straight ice on it - put the ice in a towel, then dampen the towel with tap water. Then apply that to the burn. Ice can burn (hence frostbite) so you have to temper it a bit. Sorry you got hurt.
DO NOT PUT BUTTER ON IT! That's an old wives tale and can actually make a burn worse.
They have first aid burn ointments at the drug store. When you've kept the ice on for about 10 minutes, if it still hurts, go buy some.

Please, whatever you do, don't put butter on it - the oil seals the heat in and you can get a terrible scar. Aloe Vera gel is good, cold water, ice. You can put ice on and wrap it in an ace bandage so it stays on while you do other things.

Depends on what you burnt. I burned my hand a couple years ago and found that keeping it in a cup of ice water was the only relief. If it covers an area larger than your finger and starts to blister get to the DR. An infection can be very serious.

put butter on it, or take a raw potato and slice it thinly and put the slices on it. Change the slices every few minutes and it should draw the heat out.

I'd say put snake oil on it but very few people actually have this, so just go to the fridge and get some margarine or butter and rub it in carefully.

Run cold water over it until it stops stinging, then put some burn cream on. If it's a really bad burn you should get medical help.

place mustard on the wound. the chemicals in mustard draw water, thus pulling water into the burn and allowing your body to repair itself quickly and painlessly.

Applying tooth paste to your burn also helps.
Put a glop on like glue and the pain will subside.
I'm not sure why but I guess the Menthol has to do with the it.
I find this works better than cold water because you can't have the water running forever.
Anyway, many people don't believe me when I tell them this but I'm serious. This works.
