6 hours tops for me, but I have a high metabolism, always busy and one step ahead of myself. If I am sick then it is 7-9 hours, but I rarely get sick. Nothing worse than losing sleep though....good luck!

6-12 depending on age. if you are an adult you should get at least 7 everynight to maintain proper health. if you are getting less - it will catch up with you later in life. I am 33 and 8 hours is optimal for me, although after exercise or stress I can sleep up to 10 and in rare times even 12.

6-9 hours are the outside limits for regular night's sleep. Some very healthy people require little sleep and some people never FEEL rested regardless of how many hours of sleep they have.

During Basic Training at the US Air Force Academy, we were only required to have at minimum 4hrs of sleep. From what other military members that I've talked to, that seems to be the normal amount of sleep (on average) during Basic Training. I guess Uncle Sam says we need 4hrs and still be able to fight.

the human body has cycles of even numbers: If you get 2,4,6,or 8, hours you will feel great. If you sleep an odd number 1,3,5,7 you will feel like you did'n get the sleep you needed. Try it keep track of your sleep cycles and prove to yourself

5-8 hours and I am totally awake and ready for my day. Some people however need more or less. I suppose it depends. We are all different and need different things.

In reality you dont need any sleep at all. While I was military on the hunt for Bin Laden, the military gave us "performance enhancers" these allowed us to stay awake and alert for five days at a time. We took sleeping pills to counter the effects. However we only slept about 7 hours, every five days. In my opinion withe enough enhancements you really dont require sleep at all.

depends on how hard you work, if your a lazy bum then only 6-7 hours. If you are a hard worker then about 8-9 hours. This is all minimums too. You really should just get as much as you can.

Well it has to do with your age. The younger you are you need more sleep and the older (unbeliveably) less. Teenagers need about 8 or 9 hours more if possible!

If you mean an adult human, perhaps 6 to 10 hours. Some people, however, are well rested after a much shorter time period. These people are called "short sleepers." Some only require two and a half to four hours of sleep in 24 hours (this is every night, not a special occasion). I am more curious as to what prompted the question.

Experts recommend a range of 7-9 hours of sleep each night for adults of every age. While sleep patterns change as people age, the amount of sleep adults need remains constant. At the same time, sleep experts are united in their assessment that getting enough sleep is essential to health and well-being. For sleep to be rejuvenating, you should get your sleep in one uninterrupted block of time. Disruptive sleep is not restorative and will cause drowsiness. Six hours of good, solid sleep is often more restorative than eight hours of poor, fragmented sleep. Children need a lot more sleep than adults do because they’re constantly growing.
