How many hours of sleep do you feel you need to function properly?
I need atleast 7 hours myself.

i go through spells..sometimes i need as much as 8, but then I will go through a period that I only need 3 or 4..just depends on my body...during periods I tend to need more sleep.

I like 8 hours. This week I have been averaging 6 - 7 hours. It makes getting up more difficult, but I am enjoying watching TV late into the night.

From my experience, you need at least 10 hours of proper sleep to be able to stay alert for the whole day. If I sleep less than that, I may need coffee or tea which contain caffeine to keep me alert. To get a proper sleep drink a small cup of warm milk, it really helps you to sleep soundly until the next morning.

usually 7 to 9 hours is what a normal human adult needs(although have heard of a woman only needing 4 hours a night) around 10 to 13 for adolescents, around 16 for babies, and areond 14 for the elderly

To function properly, 12hrs is preferred by me.
But i can do with 4hrs..but the next 2-3hrs after waking up is a killer..after that, im' all good.

I'm a chronic insomniac...I average around 3 1/2 Hours per night....I never function "properly" ...but I do function enough to get through a day with out setting anything on fire!!!!

I usually run on 7 but wish I had more. Kids need losts more like 9 or so, I wish more people knew that! lol.

I have been getting 9-10 hours usually. But lately with the time change I have been going to bed at the some time but I have been waking up much earlier. I used to go to bed sometime between 10 and 11pm and then wake up at 8 am. But now I wake at 6:45 with no alarm clock.

I need at least 7 as well, if I sleep any more than that I feel sleepy the rest of the day, if I get less than that I'm cranky and grumpy....
