Ice the finger to reduce any swellings then lubricate it with something like washing up liquid, soap, vaseline or KY jelly. Gentle twist and pull at the same time - if you can keep the finger cold it won't keep swelling up - but be patient it might take time.

usually, a finger will expand when its hot outside and your finger has swelled up. try going somewhere where its cool and watch your finger shrink back down to size.
if its not hot where you are, then lube it up and twist the ring in a circle towards the tip of your finger until its off. :)

Almost anything that will "slick" up your finger will help. I found the best is to coat the finger with liquid dish soap. You can also try hand lotion or cooking oil.
If all else fails, your doc or some jewelers can cut the band to remove it.

When all usual methods fail the best method would be, ..... wel let me tell u what happens when the ring is stuck up.When it happens so the venous return from the distal part of finger gets hamperred so there is oedema disatally.Anything that reduces distal oedema will reduce the ring.
One method it to tie a thread winding round the fingerfor 5 to six turns AND THEN PULL THE RING DISTALLY.Slowly keep on doing it methodically, tying 6 7 winds then pulling ring distally and so on.......it surely will get reduced.

Turn that finger soapy & slowly keep on pulling the ring out of your finger. It will take some time but will surely come out.
You can also turn your finger oily by rubbing mustard oil on your finger & slowly pull the ring out.
If both the above cases do not work then go to any jewellery shop. They will find out some way of cutting the metal without harming your finger.

1.Put hand in HOT water, or near some other heat source-do not burn yourself, ring will expand because of heat.
2. Use vegetable oil
3. Use dishsoap

My goodness, I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me. Got any cooking oil: Wesson, Crisco, etc? Or Vaseline will do. Just pour a little dab on your finger and start twisting your ring a bit. Getting it over the knuckle is the hardest, but keep dabbing the oil on and twisting and eventually it will come off. Your finger may be red in the process and may even hurt a bit, but hey, the ring is off, right?

try cold water. Never try hot water, because it makes your fingers swell up even more. try soapy water, or butter/grese. hopefully that helps, and if it doesent see a doctor. Best of luck- Rylee

If none of the answers so far work, I know hospital emergency rooms have ring cutters. They slip under the ring on one side and have a sharp edged wheel that goes around the top of the ring cutting it off. It takes quite a few turns and you have to cut the ring in 2 places often, ruining the ring. Maybe check with a jeweler to see if they have the same device.
Heat from summer weather and salty foods can cause you to retain water and cause your fingers to swell so some rings may fit better in winter than summer.
Good luck!!!

You can quick chill some oil by setting a few tablespoons of it in a small container and the setting it into a bowl with ice. While you are letting it chill, chill your finger in some cold water. After a few minutes you can pull out your finger and pour the cold oil over it. The cold helps you shrink your finger as well as minimize the pain as the ring is going over your knuckles. Make sure the oil is all around the ring and it should slide off pretty easily.

Put your hand in "ice" cold water in a bowl, for as long as you can stand it, that will reduce any swelling. Then apply some Liquid soap (dawn) on your finger and rub around the ring and it should come off. Be wise and put a towel down, so it doesn't go down the drain.
