It will help you quite a lot, but please remember to cut back on your calories. Eat more veggies and less bread and sweets.
And Good Luck.

Well that will help. Maybe a speed walk or slow job would be better. You have to eat good though. Less beer also.

Yes. Change your workout every week to keep your muscles interested. Plus, walk at a fast pace and make sure you keep your heart rate up.

Walking is very helpful in maintaining weight. The average human walking speed is four miles per hour, so if you really want to burn calories, you might want to speed it up over that. Three miles is a good start to exercising, if you really feel the need to lose weight you can add more exercises into your routine. Not knowing your overall health, I can not advise more than that. If you want to start a regular exercise regimen it is advised that you speak to a doctor first.

Yes, but keeping intensifying your workout. Vary your workouts between a higher incline and a faster pace. When you sweat, your working it. Good Job.

Definatly! Keep it up girlfriend!
For more weight loss and muscle mass, try abs (for the core), squates (for the buttocks and thighs), and push ups/ weights (for the arms)
ps. don't worry about the weight that you gained. It is normal for people to gain anywhere from 10-25 pounds during their years in college.
Good Luck!

Absolutely. It won't happen overnight, so stick with it, and of course, get back to eating sensibly. I have found, over the years, that I can eat almost whatever I want, within reason, and as long as I'm walking a couple of miles a day, I stay the same weight. Of course that's me...but I think it will extrapolate.

Exercise will help but you also have to look at what you are eating. No matter what exercise you are doing if you are still eating more calories than you are buring off you will continue to gain weight.

yes, if you exercise everyday, you will burn more calories which will make you lose weight, and you will probably gain muscle from walking uphill which also helps burn calories.

Yes it will help if you can raise your heartbeat to a certain level and keep it there until you finish. Aerobic exercise is a great way to lose weight.

I don't know if you'll LOOSE weight, but I'm sure the walking will help you lose it!
Seriously, keep it up, and don't forget the dietary component. Lay off the unhealthy stuff, and be patient. It doesn't happen nearly as fast as the commercials make you believe.

The latest research that I have read indicates that exercise helps to improve your general physical stamina and cardio health but does not help to lose weight. For example a 250 lb man would have to run up 20 flights of stairs, "flights of stairs", not just 20 stairs to burn the calories contained in just one slice of bread, approximately 60 calories. Research also indicates that weight gain is not only the amount you eat but it also has genetic implications as well as your personal metabolism. Ever notice that skinny people generally eat way more than fat people and burn it off like no tomorrow. Some people benefit from a low calorie diet and others, low carb diets. You need to find out what body type you are and how different foods affect you to develop a personal plan that works for you.

40 to 50 mins a day of running or jogging 3 to 4 times a week will burn fat fast! The main thing is consistency!

Absolutely! And good for you! The freshman 15 sneaks up on you. It's good that you change the speed and run at an incline. After I put on my college weight I started using a treadmill, constantly changing my speed. Started out walking to warm up; increase to a jog; run; kick it up to sprint; back down to a run; jog; cool down with a walk.

This will definitely help. You're probably burning about 300 (give or take depending on your weight) calories each time you do this, and should start to see results after a couple weeks. Best of luck.

Try running.
Running outside is even better and running also suppresses your hunger or cravings for food.

Yes indeed. You burn calories. But you alos need to controle your eating habits. eating smaller portions, and instead of 3 meals, make them five. You stomach will get use to a smaller portions and will shrink a little. Also, take 8 classes of water everday, becasue o assume that you will sweat, and you need to regain the fluid in your body.
