It may - I was drinking regular Pepsi for the longest time and then switched to Diet... I had also started Weight Watchers - because Diet pop was considered "free points". Even though it was quiet a switch, I would never go back to regular pepsi now.

Yes. It keeps your weight up in three ways:
1. Carbonated drinks keep your body (especially stomach) bloated, up to 1 clothing size
2. Empty calories are converted to fat much more easily, especially carbs
3. The sugar increased your desire to eat more, which is why diet drinks don't help.

Yes, you will definitely lose weight just by doing that--provided you don't eat four candy bars to replace the pops. There are tons of calories in a soda, and your body has more trouble processing soda than solid food with the same calories and sugar. Four or five a day is really out of control--you should cut them out entirely. And that will be a significant drop in calories, so you will definitely lose weight. I've heard a lot of anecdotal evidence of people losing weight just from cutting out DIET soda, let alone the full corn syrup variety.

Very much so. Sodas have a lot of calories, so cutting them out will decrease your caloric intake by about 650 calories! That is a lot. Also, being hydrated helps your body's functions, including things like metabolism.

If you replace the 4-5 sodas a day with water, then you will probably lose a bit of weight.

Yes, but not that much. It is a good start though. But add some exercise and lose a couple hundred calories and that should be a great start.

Absolutely! My gf lost 35 pounds just switching to diet Pepsi in 6 weeks..
She didn't drink pepsi at all for a week, then when she tasted a diet, it tasted really good to her.
Good luck. Don't forget to move that body a little too.

Yes! You would be surprised at the amount of calories you are cutting by drinking water. Add a little bit of walking or stairs and the weight will disappear. And you will feel better. How did the trip go for you?

I tried that and I have noticed a difference in weight since you are cutting out more sugar. Water also helps to purify the system more and makes everything more regular.
Good luck!

Dr. Pepper, like all sodas, is high in carbs and high in salt or sodium as they like to call it on the label. Change to a diet drink and you lower both and a change to a good water eliminates both.

I would think so. I used to always have pepsi in my house, and that's all I used to drink. My parents stopped buying pepsi, and I now usually only drink water and occasionally juice. I lost a couple of pounds..

Not only is the sugar bad for you, but the carbon can make you bloated. It makes you feel bigger, and even look slightly bigger. You dont have to quit totally. Have one every OTHER day. Trust me, it works

YES! When I cut out soda, I lost 4 pounds, mostly in my stomach. I told a friend of mine about that and she tried it too. She lost 7 pounds in less than 1 month by just cutting out all soda!!!!

Well each soda, non-diet, is about 150 empty calories. That means you will drop your daily caloric intake by say 750 calories. If you do not make up the calories by eating something else then yes you will lose weight. 750 calories is a huge daily drop.

Replace the Dr Pepper with Green Tea. It will help the addiction and it will speed up the weight loss. You have to do other things as well, moderate exercise and calorie intake reduction. I suggest walking for an hour a day and more frequent, smaller meals. Never skip breakfast, this just triggers your bodies famine protection system. Good luck and seriously, stay away from colored sodas, they are bad in so many ways.

absolutely. by cutting them out will reduce your daily caloric intake by 600-700 calories! that is more than enough to lose weight but make sure you aren't substituting some other food/drink (aside from water) in to sate this craving.

Yes if you stop drinking soda it will help in the weight loss process. However you are going to figure out what you like to do, walk, run, bike, dance, skate, swim, push ups, sit ups, whatever and just do it. Exercise is the best way to loose excess weight and tone your body at the same time. Start doing what you like to do, and just do it! And start eating smaller portions, more fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, no butter, mayonnaise, or starchy foods. Start off small but aim high, you can do what ever you put your mind to! Have faith in yourself and go! Good luck and God bless!

Speaking from experience, yes! Not to mention the other health benefits of increasing water intake. Soda is mainly sugar and if your body is not working on breaking it down, it can work on breaking down what you eat. Water helps this process.
I lost a significant amount of weight because of the healthy shift. Good luck to ya!

Most likely. High fructose corn syrup in sodas (and I've never check the Dr. P label) is a culprit in excess weight. Check your other foods for it too.
I've known many people who cut out sodas and lost 10-15 lbs.
You may suffer some withdrawal though. Be ready to fight through it and not grab another soda!
