I've never heard that. I don't think I could get a meal down without drinking water with it. Sounds like it could give you a stomach ache to not eat a meal with a drink.

I think some people believe you shouldn't drink during a meal because you will fill up with liquids and not food, but I think that's ridiculous.

because when u have liquid then the condition of ur stomach will be like a marsh land. I mean the food u r eating will get wet and it also dilutes the acids helping in digestion. thus it would be difficult to Digest-It. That is why it is suggested that u wait 30 mins, after a meal, if u wanna drink something.

I've never heard this.
I have however, heard that if you are on a diet to lose weight, you should drink a full glass of water before meals. This will fill you up, so you won't eat as much as you normally would.
I guess you'd drink the glass of water afterwards in case you're still hungry? That's my best guess on that part of it.

drinking while eating makes you get fat, cant really tell you exactly why but thats what i hear. its better to drink after you complete your meal. look at the fat people that eat at mcdonalds etc., they take a bite, drink, take a bite, drink. so it makes sense to me, thats probably why people say that.

It's best if you eat all you can first then drink afterwards because if you drink first the meal that you are gonna eat will be lesser and vice versa for drink and also drinks doesnt make you full for a long period of time and you're just gonna pee it :]

It's actually true. It has something to do with the digestion of the food and it actually enables you to eat more than you would if you didn't drink anything with your meal. People who want to watch their weight or lose weight should not drink during meals. You should drink before them or after them.

during meal liquids usually creates problem in proper
digestion but it effects only in long run, not in our daily routine, but
can effect your digestive system in older age.
i just want to explain the few problems arises from liquids during
liquid, one is GASTRITIS and the other is ACHLOHYDRIA.
Research suggestes that much of the gastritis is caused by bacterial
infection of gastric mucosa but other common substance is alcohal.
and water during meal also effect as when hydrogen ions when diffuse in
the stomach epithilium, creating additional havoc and leading to a vicious
cycle of progressive stomach mucosal damage and allotrophy. it also makes
the mucosa susceptible to peptic digestion, thus frequently resulting in
gastric ulcer.
ACHLORHYDRIA means simply that the stomach fails to secrete HCL, and it is
diagnosed when the pH of the gastric secretions fail to decerease below
6.5 after maximal stimulation. research shows that ACHLORHYDRIA can be
happen by having increase ammount of water in diet.

Because the liquid dilutes the stomach acids that digest your food making digestion tougher on you body. Drink 10 minutes before or after eating.
Don't listen to the idiots who say that it is "incorrect". Not drinking while eating is mandatory for people who have had stomach surgery (Easier on stomach) and recommended for everyone else. Just because they have not heard of it doesn't mean it is not true.

Do not worry about it. It is a persistent myth, like spot reduction.
Some studies actually show better food digestion when some liquid is consumed with a meal.

Drinking any water around mealtime dilutes the entire digestive process.
The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm
Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html
It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.
Here are two articles on how to break through a weight loss plateau:
http://www.webmd.com/content/article/86/99147.htm
http://www.webmd.com/content/pages/18/102117.htm
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.
