Simple - eat less, move more!
Just eat what you normally do but less of it.
And add in more exercise - every little bit helps. Take stairs instead of lifts. Get off the bus one stop early and walk the rest. Fit in a half hour walk a day. Or 3 x 10 min walks.
Good luck!

Losing weight needs just as much planning as stopping smoking - you need to have a plan in place for when difficulties arise.
One, you have to realise - AND ACCEPT! that if it is not an easy thing to do - if it were, there'd be far fewer obese people in the Western world! You simply can't eat whatever and whenever you like, and expect to improve your currently situation.
Two, don't habitually give in to that "instant gratification" monster, in which you decide to indulge yourself with a treat five times a day because you want to be good to yourself. There are other ways of treating yourself, and to treat yourself five times a day causes the term "treat" to lose its meaning.
Three, try to figure out what reasons you have for overeating - is it to satisfy a craving, to relieve boredom, to distract yourself from a difficult task at hand, or is it actual hunger? And ask yourself, after you've finished a meal of junk food, do you feel in any way guilty? So when you feel like snacking on a chocolate bar, try one of those fruit teas instead (Twinings etc.) instead.
Four, start a food diary and maintain it for at least two weeks. Be brutally honest with yourself and note everything, and I mean everything, you eat and drink, the situation you're in when it happens and the time of day. You will more than likely surprise and shock yourself with what you find.
Five, eat little and often, i.e., 5-6 small meals a day instead of three huge meals. Use small plates (i.e., side plates) to ensure that your portion size remains modest. You shouldn't feel full after a small meal, but you should feel satisfied. Don't bolt your food down - chew slowly and allow your stomach to pass its signals to the brain that it is receiving food.
Six, be careful what you use as toppings or sauces on your food - that extra lump of butter you put on your baked potato, when accumulated over the weeks and months, amounts to a substantial count of calories (not to mention saturated fat). Use a mustard topping instead of butter or mayonnaise.
Seven, use vegetables to bulk up your sandwiches - try sweetcorn, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce Add some thinly sliced cucumber to make the sandwich nice and moist.
Eight, EXERCISE!!! It's annoying for some, but you have to burn up at least the amount you put in in order to maintain the same weight, and burn up more to lose weight. Diet and exercise in combination is by far the best way to shed those pounds. This doesn't have to involve going to the gym - consistent, brisk walking is a good starting point, but aim to graduate to Gentle jogging within a few months. Or, if you can swim, do swim and swim regularly.
Nine, drink Green Tea - it speeds up the metabolism.
Just my two cents of contribution!

Change your eating habits, "grazing or snacking", which is eating something approx every 2 hours, this combined with exercise will boost your metabolism which in turn will help you to burn fat . Also drink plenty of water.
Measure yourself as you go, as there may be times where you don't loose weight but your clothes will feel looser. This is due to the fact the muscle weighs more than fat, so you might find yourself loosing inches rather than weight.
hope this helps

You can't lose weight by exercising, if you eat unhealthy food then exercise you add muscle onto fat and become even fatter. You have to eat lots of proteins to make your body fat less than 10% then tone up in the gym

The best way to loose weight and keep it off is always going to be a healthy balanced diet and regular exercise but for some this method can be difficult to maintain especially if you do not have the time/means to visit the gym 3 times a week. I would advise that you eat normally for 1 week and keep a chart of everything you eat and drink and how much exercise you do (including hrs of housework). you then decrease your diet by 10% and increase your exercise by 10% weekly until you are steadily loosing 2-3 lb a week bare in mind that the 1st week you will loose more excess fluid so you should count the 2nd week as an avg loss.

First of all, check with your college. I'm not sure where you are studying, but many universities offer a recreation center for free, or with a student fee that you have to pay anyways. They should have weight machines, treadmills, and offer exercise classes.
The other option is to eat a well-balanced, calorie restricted diet and drink plenty of water. For exercise, you can always walk, and build up to running later.

Use the British Heart Foundation 'Fat Burning Diet' - it's great. Easy to follow, loads of fruit and veg, no dairy, no cereal or bread, skimmed milk and an occaisional baked potato. Brown rice with good veg curry is fab. Serious protein twice a week - beef or chicken or mix of both - up to 20ozs per day (not that you can eat that much). Cranberry juice any time, lots of water and no alcohol. Really go for it for a week or two and you will lose loads of weight. Managed 1stone in 3 weeks and it stayed off by eating sensibly thereafter.

Eat and drink less and exercise more, which does not mean you have to join a gym. Try walking or cycling rather than catching the bus or driving.
It is a simple equation. Your body needs a certain number of calories to stay alive depending on how active you are.
Eat/drink more or be less active = weight gain
Eat/drink less or be more active = weight loss

Different things work for different people, but I have lost 18pounds since january 13th by just counting calories and making sure I keep within my daily limit.
I found my recommended intake by looking at lots of weight lose site on the internet and deciding which i though was most reliable.
I haven't increased my exercise or anything (even through i should) and i dont even feel hungry.

Eat less. I don't mean to sound obvious but it is that simple, if you feel that you are over weight then you over ate.

There are lots of ways to loose weight...
Firstly.. you need to organise your diet sensible, on a morning have a slice of brown toast, with jam, or cereal and milk and so on... couple of hours later have a ceral bar...... then at lunch have a tuna sandwich on brown.... and then a couple of hours later have an apple....... and then at tea time have a salad with a bread rold and a peice of chicken with a nice sauce drizzled over it.... and then before bed.. hot choclate and a biscuit...
The mosy important think is to eat little and often all day and eat sensibly.. and keep drinking water... acrry a small bottle around with you and drink it and then when you see a tap fill it up..
Go for a walk around the town center in the evening, or a local park..or do star jumps... walking is a fab exersise, gets to all parts of your body and not too over powering..
To give yourself a littlke bit of aboost theres an article in the take a break this week.. about being big better and fit... you should read it.. its great and very emporering for the more curvasious figger and proves that you dont have to be a twig..

The most important thing is to watch what you eat.
You do not have to starve yourself; just avoid fatty food and sugar. (Also watch what you drink, a lot of drinks have added sugar and alcohol will not help either).
So, eat lots of veggies, carbohydrates, and proteins. Eat what you need, but not more than that. (Caution with snaks).
If some day you get out of line, no big problem, as long as you go back to good eating habbits again and keep them for 5 to 6 days.
Drink plenty of water during the day.
Second: do some cardio exercise for 30 minutes at least twice a week. Whatever you like and can do. From speed walking (swinging your arms vigorously), to jogging or any other activity that gets your heart rate and metabolism going.
Third: do some tonning up exercise twice a week. You do not need to bulk, just to firm up. 30 minutes twice a week could be enough. Work your large muscles; leggs, arms, tummy, and back. Any method is good as long as you get a work out. No need to exhaust yourself either. Try freeweights, or regular exercises like crunches, sit ups, squats, flexions, push ups, etc.
Do as many as you can, rest from 30 to 60 seconds and repeat.
Muscles are the fat burning furnaces, that why you will need to tone up.
Before, but specially after your cardio and tonning exercise stretch to avoid injury, it will only take about 5 minutes (included in the 30 minutes tonning time).
You have two hours a week of exercise; both cardio and toning up. Not much time. You do not need to kill yourself doing them. Just do them as said and enough to feel you have worked out and enjoyed the time spend. If in pain or very tired the next day, you are overdoing it.
Rest days are as important as work out days!
The key factor is to be able to do them once again the next scheduled day. Being constant is the key factor. Regularity is better than a heavy overload one day a week and then nothing more.
With this, you will see results pretty fast.
Hope this helps.

Eat only when hungry. No more than three meals a day unless diabetic. Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

Not to be too simplistic, eat less and exercise more. Walking is an excellent exercise and does not require joining a gym. The exercise raises your metabolism, and in conjunction with eating less will assure that you lose weight.
