I know you asked for a tip, singular, meaning one. I am sharing with you my experiences so far with weight loss.

My best tips...limit alcohol and sugar intake. I lost 8 lbs in one week by just doing that! Always, drink plenty of water, at least 8 glasses (I drink 10 throughout the day), eat plenty of fruits and vegetables (5 servings), and read the nutritional information on foods. A lot of foods have a lot of fat and sodium, which makes you retain a lot of water and weight. I've been sticking to the old standbys like yogurt, raisins, fruit to snack on, and eating normal stuff but smaller portions.

So far, I've lost 17 lbs in 5 weeks, because some days are better than others...it really works for me. Right now, I am devoting at least 1 hour of exercise 3 days a week. I'll just ride a stationary bike for a half-hour and then get on the cross-trainer. Lately, I've been doing 2 hours in the gym just to test myself and find my personal endurance. You don't want to overdo a workout, but you don't want one that is too simple either.

Good luck with everything!

Go vegetarian. My husband dropped 50 lbs really fast, I dropped 15. It's amazing. All you have to do is avoid beef, pork, chicken and fish and eat lots of veggies. Even if you don't believe in the philosophy, you can loose the weight and go back to meat later with a new array of recipes and things to eat.

i was at 150 lbs, and now im at 135 lbs! all i did was cut out soda, fast food, junk foods, and snacking! i thought i was gonna die :) but it was SO worth it in the end. I substituted soda and juices with water and tea w/ sweet n low or splenda. Doing a little exercise in the evening or am helped a lot too.

All of these tips are great. I know it is hard to lose. Another tip is having support from your friends and family really helps.
Put pictures and notes on your fridge to remind you to stay on track. Green Tea is also good to help curb your appetite and it is so healthy for you. There are so many ideas you just have to find the right one for you and stick with it. Good Luck.

I lost quite a bit of weight eating oatmeal. I work in an office at a desk and often feel the need to snack at about 3 o'clock. I would just eat one of those single serving packets (yes, even flavored ones) for a snack and was surprisingly full until around dinner time. After I realized that, I began to eat oatmeal for breakfast as well as my afternoon snack and lost about 30 pounds in less than 3 months. Oatmeal is not only very filling, but it lowers your cholestrol too! It's a healthy alternative to taking those diet pills that always seem to have later health risks.

OK!!! first of all, forget all of those pills and crap, unless you want your body to rely on them all the time. The best answer is to swim, eat vegetables, and do a lot of sit ups. I know it sounds boring, but trust me you will like the outcome. You should try surfing every other morning, or if you dont like the ocean, swim in your community pool by doing laps. I know you like salads, i mean who doesnt. Just eat one at least once every other day along with water, orange juice, or whatever beevrage you want that has less fat and sugar. The last, but definatley not least is the sit ups. You gotta do situps in the morning, and at night. You wanna know why? Because your abs are the only muscle you can work everyday, and by doing that you will loose the fat, and get a more sexy look. If this doesnt help after the first couple of months, id say go to the pills, but only as the last resort.

Strategically-Make it EASY to do the healthy things.

1. Discover your favorite healthy foods, ones that have high nutrients and low calories with great tastes you like, then surround yourself with these. (Sweet oranges, tasty apples, and boiled shrimp for me). That kills the craving for pastry.

2. Find your most interesting exercise, make it easy to do this often. (me- cycling and walking fast for errands) When exercising, one feels soooo good, no food needed.

By doing the above things, you do not feel deprived, but feel almost spoiled, while living healthier and losing weight.

Many people scratch the healthy living plan because they feel deprived or they are sacrificing too much. Make your plan an improvement in how you feel about your situation- fun, enjoyable; not sacrificing.

Then, even if you only lose a few pounds a month, you do it for years and years. 2 pounds a month for 2 years is 48 lbs.

And you don't worry about yo-yo dieting.

to get a pair of jeans/dress that you really love but are small for you by a size or two and hang it in your room to where you can see it and when you feel like stuffing yourself just rember how it would feel to fit in the jeans/dress and it gives you something to look forward to

I am doing it right now. I am a diabetic and I am only eating 2 carbohydrate servings per meal. You divide your plate into quarters, one quarter has the 2 servings of carbohydrate, another quarter has a lean protein and the other 2 quarters are vegetables(not potatoes, pumpkin, sweet potato, corn as they are all carbohydrates). This gives the body enough glucose to function, protein to prevent hunger and vegetables as fibre to assist the body in digestion, I have lost a lot of weight. Good luck.

Just to be different than your standard answers here, I'd say do not focus on the scale.

We all know you have to diet, exercise, and commit to what you are doing in order to gain lasting results for weight loss.

My tip is to do the things you need to do and don't let the scale rule your behavior. It will only frustrate you, give you false hope, and keep you stressed and focused on that number of pounds.

Commit to what you're doing and do the things you know you have to. Your body WILL respond and you WILL lose weight. Make the scale a secondary concern and something you use infrequently to monitor your progress.

Keep away from carbonated drinks as soda. Drink more water, and go out for a little walk at least everyday, to get your blood flowing.

The best diet is a low carb diet. You eat no more than 65 carbs a day. Watch your fat intake as well. I lost 17 lbs in a short amount of time the first time I went on a low carb diet. It works! You can go to Barnes and Nobel and get a carb book that shows what foods have what carbs and how many they have. You can also buy low carb or no carb candy now for in between meals!

I have always been told that it doesn't matter how much you eat/don't eat or even what you eat, though you can't really eat fatty foods and expect to lose weight, but its the amount of exercise you do that matters. So even if you just take an extra 20 minutes a day to walk around the block or take the long way into work from the parking lot, every little bit helps to burn extra calories.

try to decrease eating thing in it sugar. run and play sport everyday, also try to eat a proper healthy meals and keep away from fast food.

the most important thing is to drink plenty of water, that way it cleans our your system. stay away from junk food. and excerise. excerising is the best way to lose weight. if u diet the results do not come as fast. and if u starve ur self thats worse cuz your body is using up its glucose instead of your fat. so excerise, say away from junk food, and drink lots of water

omgguesswhatiloveyou

Drink water it fills up you stomach and make you feel like you are full

carn_then
Yes, drinking alot of water during the day and afternoon will help u lose any excess weight you have.
Your body stores water when it doesnt get a constant, ready supply. Soft drinks and other drinks don't give your body the water it needs, so you body thinks it needs to store water during this 'drought'.
You will find the more water you drink/supply for your body, the less it will store as it has a ready supply coming in.

Water also fills you up. Try and drink a glass of water before you eat, and you will feel fuller faster, and you will likely reduce the amount of food you eat.

Also, exercise. I walk at 6am every morning. It gets my metabolism up and running, and I find I have lost more doing this than my old afternoon classes. Take the long way, and burn up some energy, rather than go the easy way.

drink lots of water everyday and stay away from ALL soda

Eat 6 small healthy (whole wheat, fruit, veggies, and lean meat) meals a day, get 30 minutes of cardio 4-6 days a week, 30 minutes of weight training 2-3 days a week, drink plenty of water, take vitamins, get plenty of rest at night, no carbs past 4:00 pm, and try not to eat after 7:00 pm. It is that simple. Its not a diet, it is having a healthy lifestyle.
