Should i give in and eat the cookie?
tomorrow theyre giving away free cookies at our school for spirit day... i've been on a diet and i've been doing really well for a few weeks now. i have a school dance on saturday and i was trying to lose some weight to look nice.. should i eat the cookie or no? i know ill be really tempted.. theyre those huge chocolate chip ones. idk what to do? i know this is a dumb question because youre thinking "its one cookie, just eat it" but i'm positive it has a load of empty calories. what do you think i should do?

Well i thiink you should becuase it sounds like you have been tring really hard. You diserve cookies every once and awhile. So go 4 it. If you r concerned about it. go run it off or run or what ever you do.

Eat HALF the cookie. Usually when I really want a taste of something I love, but feel bad about the calories, I eat a portion or half at most then immediately give the rest to someone. That way you tasted it but didn't overdo it too much. And if you really feel guilty later then do a little extra exercise.

You should do what your heart tells you to do. and i have seen a pic of you (on one of you questions) and you look great so i think 1/2 or a whole cookie would be fine as long as it not like you eat a cookie then you dont stop with the sweats then you will be the best shape girl in the world!

No!!! Do not eat the cookie. You will feel so much better about yourself if you keep to the diet for as long as you planned. And, when the diet is up, that first yummy food you eat will taste all the better.

Dont eat the cookie if you are so worried to have to ask other peoples opinion. Get a cookie and only get part of it. Or bring your own yummy snak to eat while everybody else is eating cookies.

Yes! You can always have room for cookies. If you have really been as good on your diet as you say you have, then you can reward yourself with a treat.

no. Just don't do it and think about how proud you'll be afterwards for not messing up before your event! (I have to do this constantly, because there will ALWAYS be little things like this to try and mess you up)
Take a break when an event that centers around eating comes up that you are looking forward to instead. (like winter break...eating out with friends/family...a wedding....fourth of july, etc.) Or just get a cookie and save it for sunday!
But don't blow it just for a cookie, you'll feel better tomorrow!

You are probably doing a great job with your diet. Dieting is hard, as well as resisting temptations.

Eat it. It will taste good and if you eat it it's not like you are going to gain 10 pounds by Saturday. If you've been doing good on your diet, then give yourself a treat; literally, and eat the dang cookie. Plus, it's free!

I agree with Kristina, eat half; that way you can have some while still feel like you're keeping control of your diet. It is very important in a diet to both give yourself a little wiggle room (it's really hard if you're too anal about it), and to keep control of yourself. If you really don't want to, don't feel like you have to. No one will think anything of it. Plenty of people who aren't on diets pass up food of all kind all the time, simply because they don't feel like eating it at the time.

It's Friday!!! You can eat junk food on a Friday. That was my rule in high school :) even if I was on a diet.

Yes. If you have control and are only going to eat one or two then go for it!! Exercise a little bit more than you normally would.

eh...it wouldn't be that bad if you ate it...but think how guilty you'd feel!!

eat a small healthy breakfast and a healthy lunch when they pass out the cookie you'll probably be less hungry if you ate well. IMMEDIATELY break the cookie in half and just throw the other half out- that'll eliminate you're craving lol! Eating half a BIG cookie is like eating a regular cookie; not too bad. Do cardio for 30 minutes tomorrow and you'll still be sticking to your daily caloric value, im sure!
