I am 14 years old, 5'3" and 143 lbs. I am fat. I know that. This is not another one of those "Am I Fat??" questions although I have asked one in the past. What I'm saying is that I want to be anorexic. Don't come on here and say, "Don't be retarded! Nobody wants this!" Listen to what I have to say. I don't want to end up being 90 lbs, 100 lbs, or even 110 lbs. I want to be 120 lbs. and the only way I can do it is to starve myself. So I guess that isn't really anorexia. It's starvation. Anyway, my point is that I don't know how to hide starving myself from my friends. I have the greatest friends on the planet, and the only problem with that is that they care too much about me. They would never let me be anorexic, or starve myself - they see it as the same thing. So does anyone know how to hide it from my parents, relatives and friends?? Please help??

say you are going vegetarian and eat a few vegetables at each meal. That will keep your body from going into starvation mode (which makes it hang on to calories) and will keep everyone quiet too.

i actually did the same thing. okay when your at their house and they offer you food make up excuses like "i already ate" and stuff like that.exercise too that helps probably more that dieting. and one thing that your going to have to keep in your head is that if u quit starvation and start eating normal again you will gain the weight twice as fast

im not going to be like these other people and tell you not to do it cuz i know thats not at all what you want to hear.like while youre at school maybe eat a really small low calorie low fat snack.(100 calorie packs) and when youre at home hide the food (garbage cans, dog, pocket, etc) hope i was atleast a little bit of help but i definatly wouldnt do it sweetie. im 15 and i know how you feel. ive tried it

there would be no point in you doing this because once you begin eating again, you will gain all the weight back in like 2 seconds! and you will have metabolism problems in the future, including problems losing weight ever, in a healthy way or an unhealthy way. you're still young; you have plenty of time to lose weight in a healthy way with better results and no damage done!!

No matter if you call it starvation or anerioxa it is what is...unhealthy.
As your weight maybe unhealthy now starving can also lead to unhealthy.
My suggestion would to be try something different for the weight and find a partner to do it with.

instead of getting mad at the people who are trying to help you NOT get really sick and possibly die, you should LISTEN to what they are saying. You say that you don't want to be anorexic because you know that is bad for you but then you say that you need to starve yourself and want to know how to hide it. STARVING YOURSELF WILL JUST MAKE YOU GAIN MORE WAIT IN THE END. if this is something you really want to do and you know you would be proud of yourself for losing that weight, don't take the lazy and unhealthy way out. you won't be able to look at yourself in the mirror. not because you gained more weight but because of how badly you treated yourself.

Uhm, hun...Anorexia is a serious disorder. One that not only takes over your physical health, but also your mental health. Your goal is to lose 23 pounds, and you're only 14. You can do that so much easier by just exercizing and eating a little bit healthier. I'm not going to say this is retarded. I'm just going to say that this isn't right. Lose it healthy, and you will feel better about yourself in the long run. Take care.

There isn't a way to hide starvation. Whenever you eat with your family, you can't just say that your not hungry. I'm 145 lbs and I've tried starving myself, I DOESN'T WORK. On my second day everyone had caught on, my mom made me go to a therapist,I'm telling you IT'S NOT WORTH IT.

The fact that you want to hide means that you know that it is wrong and stupid and dangerous. Your 14, straving yourself will have long term implications later in life. Im a biochemist, your going to starve your body of vital vitamins that you need to develop properly. Your brain alone isnt done developing until your in your 20's.
There are far better ways to lose weight. Just reduce the amount of calories you eat and EXCERCISE. That is the key factor. Starvation will reduce fat but also muscle and brain tissue. Excercise combined with a lower calorie diet will result in fat being reduced in your body. Now you might "gain" some weight initially, from growing muscle mass, but you will be smaller in size.
Again, the fact that your trying to hide it should set off some alarms in your head that this is a stupid idea.

I'm not going to tell you that you're being ridiculous, but as a person that's tried starving themselves before, I will tell you that it doesn't work. As soon as you start eating again, and I mean eating anything, you will start putting the weight back on even faster because your metabolism will be starved for nutrients. It will take a lot longer, but eating small meals 4 or 5 times a day and exercising like a madwoman will be much more permanent in the long run. And I hate to break it to you, but as young as you are, if you're nearing a growth spurt you might not be able to get off a whole lot of weight no matter what you do.
There's no real way to hide starving yourself from those who really care about you, especially since you're in school and living with your parents. There are flat out too many people around you all the time.
One final note - anorexia is an actual mental disorder where the person with it literally can't see their body in a realistic way. Even the people that drop down to 90 lbs still look in the mirror and see someone that's 200 lbs. That's clearly not what you have, and your should correct anyone that says differently.

ok so i know u said u dont want this kind of advice, but just hear me out okay?
the starvation diet ur planning would probably work. in 2-3 weeks you'd be ur "ideal" weight or watever. Then wat? the minute you get there and decide, okay, i can eat again, ur going to balloon up to 160 pounds or something. this is because ur body will have learned to be incredibly efficient in storing every single calorie you ate, because it really did think it was starving. so none of the calories u eat when u start eating again will be burned, they'll all be stored as fat. not good, u'll just end up fatter!
sooo....the only way to actually lose the weight and to keep it off is not to diet.
eat healthy. no more sodas. no mored fried foods. limit urself to one small dessert everyday. eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. drink skim milk, eat lowfat cheese and yogurt. and eat whole grains.
and....EXERCISE :) thats the only way to really lose weight. start walking for 30-45 minutes everyday. and do a strong pace, but one that u can hold for that long. as this becomes easier, start jogging for 10-15 minutes, then walk the rest.
then start jogging 15-25 minutes, then walk the rest...and on and on until ur jogging the entire thing, u dont have to sprint, just a nice jog.
or if jogging isn't ur thing, try swimming laps for 45-60 minutes, but be careful, swimming makes u hungry.
dont like swimming? get on a bike, or an elliptical. just get your heart rate up for at least 30 minutes a day.
and start doing crunches and pushups at night.
start off doing 2 sets of 25 crunches and 2 sets of, maybe 10 pushups (u can do them off ur knees to start off)
and just increase those numbers steadily.
i know i didn't exactly answer ur question, but honestly the method ur trying to use really won't work, and im not just saying that cuz i dont want u to starve urself, im being serious.

but if u really really really really REALLY want 2 do this, u wont be able 2 completely starve & hide it at the sametime, which is a good thing bcuz ull be dissapointed u didnt lose any weight.
ur going 2 have 2 eat.
thats the only way 2 hide it.
just dont eat the way u r eating now bcuz its obviously not healthy.

i dont think starving your self is a very wise option, your right tho maybe about cutting down.just eat less but you have to eat something-your body needs some food to store as energy or it will not function, maybe just have small portions regularly and try some exercise to - cardio is the best way to lose unwanted fat.... go for a run? or even have a dance -its fun and can burn off alot of calories and fat.
and also when you starve yourself it will make your body get into a habit -of being hungry - so that when you do it your body will panic and use all the fat and cals n nutrients becus it wont know when it will get fed again - it is honestly best to eat little but often, that way your body will only take what it needs. otherwise all the weight you may have lost will come back fast!
there are also lots of side effects of starving yourself hun, if you did it could stop you menstrating and can lead to infertility!!
so best thing to do hun is to eat bare minimum - but foods with high Energy count such as carbohydrates - pasta etc..... and exercise....please dont starve yourself you will regret it later

In spite of the fact that your question is rather ridiculous bordering on stupid I will tell you it is possible to lose the weight without starving. If you lose it slowly you will be changing your lifestyle, not just dieting, and you will keep it off.
First, keep a food journal of what you eat daily for a week. I bet you'll be surprised at what crosses your lips.
Let's suppose you're eating about 3000 calories a day for now. Cut that down to 2500 for a month or 2 - you will slowly begin to lose some #'s. Then cut down to 2000 for the next couple of months. You will be losing slowly and won't be changing your habits that drastically so it may be unnoticed.
Next you cut down to 1500 calories.
When you go to to the mall, park at the far end of the parking lot.
Move as much as you can - if you let the dogs out, walk down the steps twice instead of once.

You can lose the 23 lbs without starving yourself. Starving yourself actually takes longer to lose the weight.
i was the same size of u at your age and i lost 25 lbs in a month. All i did was count my calories. Start at like 1800 a day for a week. Then the next week 1600. then 1400 then 1200 calories a day for a week. This actually shrinks your stomach so when your done dieting you dont eat as much as you use too. Try eating some fruits and a few diet snacks instead of regular ones. That's what i did. And i dropped the weight. If you want to tone up as well do a few exercises for 30mins a day 3X a week. In a month i guarantee youll drop the weight. In a healthy way that will keep the weight off.
If you starve yourself the weight will just come back. GOOD LUCK! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

If you want a sensible answer - you sound like a sensible girl - and not a rude one, hard work is the key! Exercises daily. It would be easier, actually, and obviously more healthy for your body and mind to work out to lose the weight than it would be to starve yourself and try to hide it. If you want to modify your diet, research the matter. Eat more fruits - talk to your parents for that. If they won't help you, get a job, join a gym, buy your own healthy foods.
I'm Telling you, learning healthy living habits will help you in the immediate and the long run. Hiding from your problems by not eating will only teach you how to live unhealthy, and sooner or later it will catch up to you. Maybe you get sent to the hospital for some vitamin or mineral deficiency, maybe you lose control of your scheme and DO end up 100 pounds.

Please don't starve yourself...you will only gain the weight back as soon as you start eating again, and you have to eat at some point. It will only mess you metabolism up and make it that much harder to loose weight in the future.
Try to follow a plan like Weight Watchers. it has been proven effective. It will take some time,but you will be much more likely to keep the weight off.
I know it's not the answer that you wanted, but I have starved myself (ironically, when I was also 14) and I know it doesn;t work.

Well threes plenty of people that are pro Anna but Think about it, when you stare yourself your body burns your muscle first. Also since your only 14 that will effect your physiology for the rest of your life and negatively effect your growth. if your only trying to lose 120 pounds I would just try to eat better and exercise its not a Lot of weight and you will be far healthier in the end.

And news flash, honey, i went to school with a beautiful chick who showed up after summer break all skinny and she confided in me how she did it. The boys went nuts over her and she scored the hottest guy in school. He slept with her, but when her weight began to come back (and it will) he dumped her and broke her heart. I'm not going to tell you how to starve yourself. That can be very dangerous and in the end, you will just gain the weight back. I think you should love your body and start treating it better. More fruits and veggies, and go for a nice long walk with some music. I walked around our block with my ipod and ended up going around 2 more times because I couldn't stop listening to music. Jump, play, re-arrange your room, anything to get you moving. Starving yourself hun, I don't care if you don't want to hear this, but it isn't smart. Please don't. You can get yourself to a healthy weight by the things I've suggested. Stay strong.

OK 1st screw the rude people on here, I've asked so many people theses things and I keep getting rude answers too. 2nd it DOES work, I've done it! but u can't do it for a period of more than 5 days if your strait starving yourself(drinking only diet soda and water) u'll go dizzy and feel like you can't breath or do anything. I recommend doing for 3-4days and then eating somthing small like some fruits and veggies. gradually start to increase your food don't do it all at onece or you'll end up gaining it all back or more. 3rdly- to hide it from your friends say u already ate, or your eating at home, your mom made dinner, something like that. to hide it form you rents is harder, I'm struggling w/ that now since I'm on Christmas vac. (and want to loose about 20lbs be4 it ends on the 28th of Jan.) So what I'm gona do is get a membership at a gym nearby and go when they are eating dinner(thats the only time I eat w/ them) come bak and "eat" aka: hide it and throw it out or chew and spit...... cuz they'll b too busy to watch if u do it when they're not eating....but exercise def helps, just to let u kno, go for 1-3hrs that way u can make sure that they're done eating. I hope it helped!, just don't become skeletal, 120's a good weight!
