I am going to do the master cleanse which is basically meant to cleanse ur bodie of any impurities. It really cleans u out. It may not be for everyone though. You can google it and find the information to be better informed. Everyones body is different and it is all about being focused, determined, and most of all READY! Wanting to lose the weight is one thing but don't focus on the number. You may ad you may not do it in that span of time but that doesn't mean that you won't meat ur weight loss goal. Focus, keep record of ur habits and of couse set a goal but don't give up at the first sign of some sort of "failure". Remember it takes time to get it off but not to put it on so go forward and not back.

Take your time you do not want to set yourself up for a down fall..I would set my goal at 40lb then go for more from that point..If you do lose 60 that is awesome....If I were you I would set my goals down a bit not that I do not think you can do the 60lbs in that time frame. I just think you would feel better with yourself if you didn't make the 60lbs in that time frame...We will all be here cheering you on..GOOD LUCK!!!! :)

yea its a very achievable goal if you break it down. it works out that you should lose about 6 pound a months ... theres then four weeks in a month so tht works out at around 2 pounds a week you should be losing in order to achieve your goal! its all well and good eating less than 1500 calories a day but it also depends on what you're eating ... if your eating junk then theres no point in even starting because that has a lot of unhealthy fats in it. you should get your fats from things like Avocado etc, make sure your doing the right exercises to achieve maximum weight loss, i recomend asking someone at your gym, i would also recomend doing a lot of cardiovascular exercises. also make sure that your 2 hours at the gym arent wasted standing around being to scared or wasted by not exercising to your full potential. oh and make sure you drink plenty of water!
sorry about it being so long.
good luck :)

Congratulations for you are on the road to success! I do think you should have lost a couple of pounds in two weeks and this leads be to believe that you need to decrease your sodium content and drink more spring water. I believe that this could be the problem, if your sodium intake is high then you will retain fluid and will not lose weight. Increase your Potassium by eating fruits and vegetables and increase your fiber as well. From what you indicated your caloric intake plus you 45 minutes of walking will get you down to your desired weight loose. Be confident, stay motivated, and let us know how you are doing next week. Post another question so I can help you. You are on the right track and I expect you to lose at least 2 pounds by the end of this week. Best of Luck to you.

60 pounds is a realistic goal. When my husband deployed last year, I lost 30 pounds over a 4 month period. I wanted to do it for me, and him being gone gave me the freedom to try any stupid thing I wanted to do to lose weight. For me, less food and better choices (lots of veggies) did more for my weight than the gym. The gym sculpted and rearranged my body more than showing pounds falling off. Each person is different, so experiment with what works for you. I do think 60 is very realistic and hope you reach your goal. Working hard is the best way to get there!

Yes it is, I lost 52 lbs. in 19 wks. following Weight Watchers diet a few years ago. It was the most wonderful accomplishment.
Nothing taste as good as being thinner feels~~~~~
No one can tell you how fast you can expect to lose the weight.. Depends on so many factors, but remember this "a goal is something you see through to completion".
Good Luck !!!

I think that it is a good goal. It might be a little under, since it is only 6 pounds a month that you're looking a dropping. But then again, you don't want to lose weight too fast for health reasons and the fact that you could gain it back rather quickly, too.
Drink lots of water and make sure that you're hydrated. I would also recommend a protein supplement to help you keep your lean muscle mass.
Another thing, if you're going to the gym, walking, etc., you might be losing inches as opposed to pounds. You'll see a difference there, especially if you are weight training. Don't forget that muscle does weigh more than fat and that you need to burn approximately 2000 calories to lose one pound of fat.
Above all, don't get discouraged! I'm in the middle range for losing weight and it is sooo hard to lose any weight!
But eating healthier, exercising, getting enough sleep and having a positive outlook will do wonders for you!
Good luck!

Achievable but be careful not to set limits so high that you have a high chance of failing to reach that point. Remember...How many years did it take you to put on those extra 60lbs? A lot of people get frustrated or depressed when they try to diet and do not see the results they wanted.
My suggestion would be to try and break that down into smaller successes. For example, Tell yourself that you want to lose 10 lbs in the next 2 months. Once you achieve or exceed that goal, then look at the next two months the same way.
By breaking down the goals into a more achievable range, you then are less likely to become depressed and stop the regimen that you started.
I do think you are on the right track though...diet and exercise is the key. It's simple math...if you take in less calories than you burn off, you will lose weight.

Easily...are you drinking lots of water, too?
That's only 6 pounds a month, you should be able to drop 2-3 pounds a week with the diet and excercise alone.
Good luck and congrats for committing to be healthy

This is a very achievable goal. Standard diet practice indicated a loss of 1/2 to 2 lbs per week is healthy...this gives you a range of 20-80 lbs over a 10 month period.
Dont just pick a diet Plan out of your hat though. Talk to a nutritionist and maybe a personal trainer to work out what will be best for you. Remember that going to the gym can increase muscle mass ( muscle is heavier than fat ) so get yourself measured....that way you know that you are getting smaller even if the # on the scale stays the same. Also except that your body may only give up 1/2 lbs a week rather than the 1 1/2 lbs you are wanting. GOOD LUCK ! :)

good for you- you've decided to lose weight.
Just do it the healthy way- balance your food intake with your energy output.
That means, balance diet and exercise. Setting goals in weight loss is good, but remember, every body is different, and you need to manage your weight in the healthiest way for you.
You should expect to see weight loss in one to three months after you start. Walking and gym may not be the best way to shed those pounds. Try increasing your walking distance and pace, or varying your cardio workout. Gym-wise, work on lighter weights with more reps.
Most importantly, do your warm-ups and your cool-downs. And before you start on any exercise programme (i tell all my relatives & family members this), see a doctor for a full-body check-up. You may seriously injure yourself if you don't.

Yes, I lost 90 lbs. in 10 mo. through the
South Beach Diet, and with the Firm. I also
walked 20 everyday while practicing Lovingkindness Meditation toward/for others.
You have a very realistic goal, which YOU CAN
attain. Be patient with yourself. and forgive
yourself if/when you mess up.

Yea, you can safely lose 2lbs a week. I would see if after a month you've lost anything. Don't be discouraged because you are definitely going to lose the weight with what you are doing. When I try to lose weight I exercise more days and then for maintenance after, 3 days. I've lost weight as fast as from 1 day to the next but it's not always like that.

Yes. You can do it. I just posted this for another question and it worked for me. Just be patient. Weigh yourself everyday. Stay positive. Also cheat a little for your mind's sake. Your body is adjusting itself.
Go on a low carb, high protein diet.
Drink a gallon of water a day
Eat 5 or 6 small meals a day.
Breakfast
Low carb yogurt in the morning.
Snacks to eat before and after lunch
Walnuts, almonds, beef jerky, broccoli,
Fruits:
Apples and grapefruits
Lunch:
Diced chicken in a spniach salad with tomatoes, a little feta cheese(if you like it) with no or low carb dressing
Dinner
I would eat steaks/chicken/fish/
Snack after dinner.
DO NOT EAT AFTER 8PM!!!!!
Try to walk or increase you mobility.
You are guaranteed to lose weight
Good luck!!!

you should expect to lose 1-2 pounds per week. If you lose it any faster, that's not healthy. make sure you're eating 1500 calories or less, or that you expend more calories than you take in. good luck!
