Is it possible to lose weight without dieting?
I really want to lose weight but I hate dieting. Like I hate it when people say I can't have a piece of pizza I'm on a diet. Or I can't go to dairy queen. I have been trying to lose weight forever. I'm eating a little healthier like fruits and veggies but normal stuff, like pizza, cheesburgers, ice cream. I have been working out alot and keep trying to lose weight but so far I haven't losta pound. Why can't I lose weight. I'm 5'7" and weight 160 pounds. Is it possible to lose weight without dieting because I really don't want to.

Yes, it is possible to lose weight without dieting. Losing weight is mostly a numbers game - expend more calories than you take in, and you will lose mass. Depending on what type of exercise you do, you may gain muscle, which weighs more than fat. Muscle is good, but it may not lead to 'weight' loss - it will lead to fat loss, which is essentially what you want.

The key to getting in shape and staying that way is to understand that starting an exercise/diet program is not something you 'do' until you reach your goal. It is a lifestyle change which you must keep up the rest of your life in order to reap the benefits. This is where 99% of people who fail on diets mess up.

Exercising without changing diet habits (i.e., continuing to eat cheeseburgers, pizza, and ice cream all the time) is like getting body work done on your car but putting in crappy gas and not changing the oil. The exercise will make your body healthier, but it needs good, clean 'fuel' to run on. The occasional cheeseburger, pizza, or ice cream is okay, but this should not be your main diet. Follow the Food Guide Pyramid, along with your exercise program, and you will look and feel great.

In short, the answer to your question is yes, but there are consequences.

running and swimming burn alot of fat try them
you will actually gain weight as a rule while you are adding muscle but then the fat will just start melting away. ps i love my stationary bike i can sit and watch tv while on it and still eat pizza.

Diets dont work but you need to learn better eating so you can still eat some ice cream. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. So you are a victim of this pandemic (epidemic). You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Plus click on "Pure Water" to make sure the water you drink doesn't hurt you. yeah me neither you should exercise my favorite exercise is walking a mile or 2 in the mall try bringing a burger and take 2 medium sized bites for every mile you walk and walk till the burger is gone and you know what i think i'll try that myself hmmmmm... * deep in thought* hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Yeh it's possible but not healthy. A good case of intestinal dysentery will cause you to lose weight without dieting or exercise.

You're on the right track with healthier food choices and increased exercise. Weight Watchers point system is a good way to make good food choices and continue to eat things you like and still lose weight. You don't have to join WW-- just search online or go to your library to start to learn how to use their point system. I did this for 6 months and lost 25 lbs. without really trying that hard.

well.. you have to excerize alot and eat healthy. try to AVOID cheeseburgers and such. eat them only like once a week or even once every 2 weeks or so.

The best answer I can give is look into joining Weight Watchers.

One of the things they say is that you shouldn't deprive yourself. When you do that you end up eating more in the long run than if you had let yourself have the goodie. I saved my goodie times because I wanted it to feel like a "you've earned it" goodie. It also gave me something to look forward to.

The program they have has a point value for everything, including "goodies". You are given a point target for the day, so all you need to do is fit pizza into your menu and alter other things (like additional exercise or saving points for the pizza)

Theoretically you can have anything you want, but some choices are better than others.

Yes! Increase your activity level and not your food intake. Dieting has come to represent denial however, diet is just the what you eat. you can have those things only don't make them a regular part of the way you eat. Peace.

If you drink soda, just giving it up can take away a lot of calories. Try to eat less fast food and junk food - and more of those fruits and veggies. Eat less pizza, ice cream and cheeseburgers - say limit yourself to one a week of each. Drink plenty of water, and a glass before each meal - so you won't be AS hungry.

You could get low-fat ice cream, have veggie toppings on your pizza, and leave the cheese and bun off the burger (eat it with lettuce and tomatoes). Keep up the workouts - they will help.

You can lose weight without really dieting, but you have to really work out a lot. If you don't want to make a big food change, just try eating healthy foods first, before eating junk.

But your body will respond to whatever you do. If you are still eating a lot, your body will have plently of energy, and that means it doesn't need to burn fat for energy.

Well, let's see how the numbers work out.

Hypothetical (but likely) situation: You go to the gym, you work really hard on all the cardio and weight machines. After a good hour, you've burnt a solid 400 calories. You pat yourself on the back, and feel like you can now eat anything you want for the rest of the day.

You feel hungry, and decide to go to McDonald's. You order a medium pepsi, a big mac, and fries. Total damage: 1100 calories. You've just gained 700 more calories than you burnt.

Is it possible to lose weight w/o dieting? yep, start exercising for 4-6 hours a day for 6 days a week.

OR, watch what you eat. You don't have to deprive yourself of the foods you love. You just have to moderate it. You can have 3 "cheat meals" per week. A cheat meal can be anything: pizza, ice cream, cake, anything. The rest of the time, eat the stuff that you know is good for you: fruits, veggies, meat, fish, eggs, and dairy.

Yes. without changing your eating habits, just try spreading your daily calorie intake into more meals. Instead of 3 meals try 5 and I dont mean eating the same at each meal. spread the amount you eat regularly between 5 meals. This will boost metabolism. Avoid eating only 1 or 2 large meals a day

I had a similar problem after I put on too much weight from eating too much fried food. Try eating less sweet stuff (Not none) and fewer cheeseburgers. When I did that and stopped taking seconds, and started drinking lots of water, the weight dropped off.

Try cutting out all high fructose corn syrup and diet sodas (artifical sweeteners). They both interact with your bodies insulin and makes it store fat faster.

There are some ways to lose weight without dieting like new reseaches show that in women drinking up to 24 oz of milk each day will get you to lose up to 3 pounds per month. Another thing to try is not drinking any soda or things with caffine on average if you drink 8 oz of soda each day for a month then you gain up to 2 pounds that can not be easily taken off. So yes there are ways but the way I found works the best even though I am in really good shape is to run. From any where from 3 to 4 miles 3x a week. And to drink lotts of water and gaterade.

Start an Exercise program: You can turn those extra calories into Muscle and look better and feel better without giving up all your favorite stuff. Try cutting back on foods yah know are high in calories you can still eat them just smaller portions. Don't give up you'll reach your goal. You might even consider joining a gym where you can get a work out buddy and maybe gain new ideas or exercises.

Maybe you should try on cutting back how much pizza you eat. And keep away from Dairy Queen, why don't you try non-fat frozen yogurt. You have to understand that when it comes to maintaining a healthy body, you have to make some sacrifices. If we were all able to eat what we like, we would all be fat. Just keep exercising, drink lots of water and be more cautious of what you're eating. Doesn't mean you have to stick to only veggies and fruit, there are a lot of yummy things to eat that will fill you up and taste good to you and also keep your metabolism running faster and faster.

Yes, of course. Dieting and changing your diet are different and it sounds like your already headed in the right direction. I'm trying to lose weight too. I exercise for 15-30 minutes in the morning and run for an hour every night. Its good if you drink around a gallon of water a day (its a lot i know) but it clears out your system and helps shed unwanted pounds. You need 8 hours of sleep a night and the SAME 8 hours that means pick a bed time and pick a waking time. It helps keep your body energized, plus if your body clock is on track you shed more pounds. Stay away from low protein, high calorie, high carb food (ice cream) eat TONS of fiber, and eat three square meals a day, with two HEALTHY snacks in between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. Also DO NOT EAT AFTER 9 at night, the later you eat the more you gain. Good Luck and I hope I've helped its hard but its very rewarding. Stay strong.
