Yes, but it is also dangerous. A fair amount would be closer to 3 to 5 pounds per month. That way it stays off and doesn't come back. If you take it off too quick your body goes into starvation mode and more often then not you pick that weight up and another 30% as well. Take it slow and easy. I took off a bit over 30 pounds and it has taken me 8 months. I still have about 80 to go. I took me 10 years to get this fat and I am sure it will take me at least 3 years to lose it. I am not in too much of a hurry. You shouldn't be either. Remember the first 10 pounds you drop is water weight and you can do that in about 5 days. After that it gets harder all the time. Good luck.

yeah... as long as you diet right and exercise... of course, if you do that you're not only going to loose fat but gain muscle mass... so the best method of measurement are clothing sizes and a measuring tape..

yes, it is deff possible, try at least 3 days every week with an intense workout... or just a workout for at least 30 minutes.
work out all areas...legs, arms, abs, butt, and so on
running is prolly the best way to lose weight. also, cut out all soda, chips, candy, sweets, etc. eat healthy and proportional meals.
you could also ask you doctor for more tips and ideas.
hope that helps! good luck!

No soda, no chips, no fatty foods. Lots and lots of veggies, fruits and water. It might help if you join a sports team at your school. I played lacrosse in high school and every season I lost 15 pounds cause coach gave us a list of foods that we shouldn't eat(like the ones i just mentioned) and we did LOTS of running. I hate running, but being on the team and wanting to make cuts just motivated me to keep going, even though I was the slowest runner.

Yes but it isn't permanent. Diuretics will accomplish that in days rather than weeks or months. However be warned! Water weight and weight in general is noting to play with. You should see a doctor or nutritionist before beginning any type of diet to lose or gain weight!

yes.
so this is what you do:
1. start walking for about 15 minutes after dinner each night
2. do not eat anything other than the three meals
3. NO WEIGHT LOSS BARS
4. if you cut down 100 calories every day, you lose about 15 pounds each year! Because 3500 pounds = 1 pound, and if each month is 30 days, and if you cut down 100 calories a day, you would lose about 1 pound a month. x 12 and that's 12 pounds already!

Before you start any diet program, you should visit your doctor. Your doctor will make recommendations about your weight based on your height, body type, and family history. Programs such as Weight Watchers, T.O.P.S., ect. are very helpful because they can make recommendations about food and exercise and give you moral support. Don't get discouraged! You didn't gain the weight over night - and it won't come off over night. You can do it if you are determined!

Only after they have taken out your entire stomach!
The operation is not without risk but the only way to effectively lose weight and be slender for the rest of your life!
But maybe not a realistic solution when you're 15! The doctors might not agree to such a drastic step.
Otherwise the only solution is "not-eating" and that drives most people crazy. You go into heavy withdrawal and it takes iron self-discipline to go on with your diet. I've seen it done and I've seen the same people fall back. It's like alcohol.
Good luck.

You can't loose that much weight in that short of time in a healthy way.
Drink lots of water - seriously, gallons per day. When you do sit down to eat, drink between bites. no soft drinks, no candies/chocolate/sweets. cut out carbs - starches (potatoes, rice, pasta)
limit red meat. vegetables with no dressing or butter
limit dairy products
Good luck!

You don't even need to lose that much and yes you can do it.
Cut out all fast food and soda (even diet). Cut down on bread and cheese. Snack on fruits, veggies, yogurt, and other low-cal foods.
Speed walk or run (or aerobics) 3-5 days a week. Add weight training and you're well on your way.

Eat low fat, low calorie foods, like veggies... Celery is like crunchy water..
Eat fruits but watch your calorie consumption... Keep your total caloric intake to about 1200 calories a day.... Exercise... start slow at first but make sure you do it every day...
Totally reasonable that you can lose 39 pounds in 5 months!! Probably less than that if you don't cheat on the diet and exercise... You could lose 20 pounds a month if you are very strict with yourself... but you have 5 months, so take it slow and start sacrificing... you will be very happy you did in 5 months!!

i lost 40 pounds from March 1st last year to MAy 6th. i did it for prom. i did it by cutting down my carbohydrate intake. a lot of people say it is SO unhealthy, but that is a myth. the only reason it is unhealthy is becuase people will go on it, then go write off and go on carb binges..and then that just messaes up your metabolism.
if you are not up for the low carb though, i would suggest going to www.sparkpeople.com they will make you a food plan, and exercise plan..people on there really like it and it has helped a lot of people to loose a lot of weight. plus you can make goals, and they make sure that the goals are not too unrealistic.
also i would suggest starting to drink a lot of water!

Drink water. 8 - 10 glasses a day. Not CUPS.
Eat dinner for breakfast and breakast for dinner. This way you have the whole day to burn the extra calories.
Best times to exercise is right after you wake up and after school.
Eat alot of fiber. Like berries and Fiber One Cereal.
Exercise at least 30 minutes. I read that your body starts to burn calories after 15 minutes of exercise. =]
Throw in a day or two of restricing. Like, tell yourself "Okay, so today I'm not having more than 600 calories." DRINK ALOT OF WATER.
Good luck.
