depends on when you feel the best. For me it is cool climate in the morning, and in the afternoons, it is very hot. I am lazy so I workout in the evening.

When you first wake up. Because how you feel when you first wake up affects how you will probably feel for the rest of that day.

It is best to do a light workout in the mornings before breakfast
say, maybe a light mile jog?
that way you burn about 100 calories of your stored fat. which is the stuff that jiggles and doesn't come out as easily
when you eat breakfast
eat a healthy one to keep you energized throughout the day
and a big breakfast.
then have a resting period for digesting.
the you do a more rigorous workout after that.
it should still be in the AM.
the workout before the shower will make you feel very good and energized through out the day. =)

Monrings and Evenings. When you workout in the morning, your metabolism is higher which means you burn more fat. The workout is just cardio in the AM. Don't eat breakfast before hand because it'll slow down your metabolism. Do cardio when you wake up then eat

It is the best in the mornig, especially before dawn even befor that. Every work involves burnig of calaries which in turn utilise oxygen in the human system and outside in the atmosphere. In the mornig Oxygen is maximum in the atmosphere hence it is easily replenished. Also it is cool in the mornig hence the air is thicker and heavy, closer to the earth surface with more oxygen available. Coolness gives comfort.
Above all, in Hindu SHASTRAS mornig time has been identified as BRAHAMBELA- a period of God Bliss. Wish U all the best

i've always heard that it's best in the mornings but i'm not sure why. the best way to think of it is to just workout in general! it's going to burn the same amount of calories anytime of day. i think people say "in the morning" so that you burn fat that's already stored, but when i tried working out first thing after waking up & before breakfast i almost passed out (probably because i had no food in my stomach and i did quite a bit). you could try both and see which one makes you feel better and which one fits better into your schedule too.

it doesn't matter what time you work out. anytime you work out your metabolism will increase buring fat like crazy afterwards, but of course your work out has to be strenuous. you can't think walking for thirty minutes or so will help, well it will but working out a little crazy, i mean, talking yourself to the breaking point will keep your metabolism burning up fat, calories, whatever for hours afterwards.so, as long as you workout at anytime that suits you, you're fine.

Probably depends on the exercise.
If you're gonna do sit-ups or push-ups, I don't think you'd be able to do that as soon as you wake up.
On the other hand, jogging in the morning is an excellent way to start your day :).

I'll tell you facts and then my opinion/experience:
FACT, when you work out in the morning BEFORE you eat you are burning more fat , because your body has survived off of your previous meals in your sleep. If you haven't eaten yet, you are forcing your body to go obtain energy from your stored fat. So "morning" is the answer to your question.
My opinion: I find it harder to work out when I first get up probably for that very reason. I have no energy when I wake up and go work out and I always feel like quitting almost as soon as I start. What I've done to deal with this is wake up an hour before I work out to get my blood going and sip on water throughout that hour or sometimes Gatorade when I feel I may need the extra energy.
I work out in the morning and then again in the afternoon at the end of my work day. My afternoon ones seem like I have a lot more energy and I FEEL like I'm doing more than when I work out in the morning.

I prefer mornings, b/c I have more energy, but I'm lazy, so I do it in the evenings.
I feel GREAT when I do exercise in the am
But, I just saw...somewhere...maybe the Today show??? that said it's best to exercise in the am. Something about metabolism.

well technically if you work out on an empty stomach you will be burning muscle instead of building it.
so ideally have a meal.
as for timing, your metabolic rate is higher in the morning as you have higher cortisol secretions then, so you might wanna take advantage of working out at night to ensure ur metabolic rate remains high thru out the day.

time doesn't matter as long as your exercise on a regular basis. personally I recommend to people to exercise as early in the day as possible. not only does it help to jump start the metabolism and energy levels when performed early in the day. but the earlier exercise is performed the lower the chances there are of missing workouts.

In the morning definetly.I was watching Good Morning America the other day and they had a really famous workout guy on there and he said it is best to excersice in the morning because you blood sugar is low. Plus, you should have a big breakfast so you eat lighter the rest of the day.

mornings, that way your not using your muscles with intensity and then going to sleep, its almost a waste... Always work out in the morning... its pointless to do it at night, working out in the mornings you get WORKING OUT + doing things the rest of your day= getting a better workout. It might also be harder to go to sleep at night after working out.
ALWAYS STRETCH BEFORE WORKING OUT!!!!

Following are 10 great points of excercising in the mornings:-
Exercising early in the morning "jump starts" your metabolism, keeping it elevated for hours, sometimes for up to 24 hours! As a result, you’ll be burning more calories all day long—just because you exercised in the morning.
Exercising in the morning energizes you for the day—not to mention that gratifying feeling of virtue you have knowing you’ve done something disciplined and good for you.
Studies have shown that exercise significantly increases mental acuity—a benefit that lasts four to ten hours after your workout ends. Exercising in the a.m. means you get to harness that brainpower, instead of wasting it while you’re snoozing.
Assuming you make exercise a true priority, it shouldn’t be a major problem to get up 30 to 60 minutes earlier—especially since regular exercise generally means a higher quality of sleep, which in turn means you’ll probably require less sleep. (If getting up 30 to 60 minutes earlier each day seems too daunting, you can ease into it with 10 to 20 minutes at first.)
When you exercise at about the same time every morning—especially if you wake up regularly at about the same time—you’re regulating your body's endocrine system and circadian rhythms. Your body learns that you do the same thing just about every day, and it begins to prepare for waking and exercise several hours before you actually open your eyes. That’s beneficial because:
o Your body’s not “confused” by wildly changing wake-up times, which means waking up is much less painful. (You may even find that you don’t need an alarm clock most days.)
o Hormones prepare your body for exercise by regulating blood pressure, heart rate, blood flow to muscles, etc.
o Your metabolism, along with all the hormones involved in activity and exercise, begin to elevate while you're sleeping. As a result, you’ll feel more alert, energized, and ready to exercise when you do wake up.
Many people find that morning exercise has a tendency to regulate their appetite for the rest of the day. Not only do they eat less (since activity causes the release of endorphins, which in turn diminishes appetite), they also choose healthier portions of healthier foods.
People who consistently exercise find, sometimes to their great surprise, that the appointed time every morning evolves into something they look forward to. Besides the satisfaction of taking care of themselves, they find it’s a great time to plan their day, pray, or just think more clearly—things most of us often don’t get to do otherwise.
Exercising first thing in the morning is the most foolproof way to ensure that other things don’t overtake your fitness commitment, particularly if you have a hectic family life. (It’s so easy to wimp out in the evening, when we’re tired or faced with such tasks as rustling up dinner and helping with homework.)
More than 90% of those who exercise consistently have a morning fitness routine. If you want to exercise on a regular basis, the odds are in your favor if you squeeze your workout into the a.m.
Hope u find reason enough to get started on an early morning fitness regimen!!
