Like everything you consume too much it can have disadvantages . I think too much milk can make you lactose intolerant, which means that you wont be able to consume milk products without being sick!! I love milk too!

That is a lot of milk in one day, but if you drink skim or 1% it's not quite as bad. They do say to drink 3 - 8oz. glasses of skim or 1% a day to help lose weight.

Too much of anything is not good.
4 pints of milk is a lot. Either you are not getting enough nutrients from other foods because you are drinking so much milk, or you are consuming a lot of extra calories, which will cause weight gain.
Milk is good in moderation. Try cutting back until you have, at the most in one day, 3-4 cups.

Drinking a few cups of milk a day should be okay but i think 4 pints might be over doing it.

I used to drink about a gallon a day when I was a teenager, you do need the Calcium.
The only thing to watch is your weight. If you are concerned, switch to low or non-fat.
As our bodies get older, they don't absorb as much Calcium and we need to ingest more and more.

Drinking too much milk can be bad for you. Apart from the fats involved, the excess Calcium can give you kidney stones, which you will have to pass through your urinary Tract and can be exceedingly painful.
This could only happen if you drink to much milk in a short period of time. Also, if you drink over one gallon of milk an hour, it could upset your stomach and get you sick.
Four pints isn't bad as long as it is spread out throughout the day.

Yes. It can be bad for you. Not anything horrible, but Calcium stones are very painful.
You naturally get some Vitamin D and Calcium from other sources during the day. (the sun is one of those sources).
So... don't overdo the milk. 2 pints a day is ideal. The rest of the Calcium and Vitamin D will naturally come from other things such as cheese, broccoli, etc.
Also, make sure you are drinking enough water.
As one of the other people mentioned....everything in moderation.

Milk is brilliant for you, however it is not good for you if you drink too much milk. This might result in "Calcium dependency" i.e. when you dont get as much Calcium your bones will go weak and fragile as it is used to extra. You can also get other problems such as constipation, and EXTRA calories (in other words you will put on a few extra pounds) or you may become thinner as you are full and do not eat other nutrients (not good either). You could also be at risk of iron deficiency anemia.
However, some people argue that you can carry on drinking as much milk as you are if you do not show any signs of the above.
You should have 1000mg of Calcium per day (1g) but that includes other dairy products.

Not unless you are lactose intolerant. If drinking milk does not give you an upset stomach, gas, or diarrhea, it is fine to drink as much as your body needs. Four pints a day is not excessive. It could be bad for you if you are drinking whole milk and have high cholesterol, otherwise, I would not worry about it.
