Yes, it is. I drink a lot of pop too, and I am going to quit now that I've actually thought about what's in it:
carbonated water (at least this is ok)
caramel color (What is this, really? They don't say.)
aspartame (causes some pretty nasty side effects)
phosphoric acid (can cause genetic defects)
Potassium benzoate (actually a poison)
caffeine (This is addictive, as you know.)
citric acid (also some nasty side effects)
natural flavors (Again, what is this?)
Phenylalanine (don't even ask)
And this is in diet coke. There is a lot of sugar in real coke, and that's not good for you either.

Yes, drinking coke everyday is bad for your health. You should drink tea instead of coke. Tea is a lot healthier than Coke.

Coke is very bad for your health. One I6 oz. Bottle Has I6 tsp. of sugar. And that goes for DIET COKE TOO. What do we have when we leave the T off of Diet?

Yes.. drinking coke is bad for your health.... You should seriously switch to water or even some sort of juice... Coke is loaded with so much sugar and corn starch... If you stop drinking coke ALONE... that will make you lose weight as well as make yourself a whole lot healthier....

I also drink a lot of soda,I don't think it's bad for you even though my doctor told me one time do not drink Mt.Dew it is very acid filled and not good at all for you.

Of course. Just look at the nutritional value on a 355ML can of coke. You'l see it has a high amount of calories and sugar. Just over a 2 month span if you decided to just switch over from coke to lets say water you will notice a big differince. Possibly lose up to as much as 15 lbs.

I have access to medical reports and the aspartame (sugar substitute) in diet sodas will cause a large number of illness (sometimes even ms and strokes.)The fda did not report on this cuz Dupont Co. held the patent that has since expired. Yes, regular coke is very bad for you.

Having a soda once a week isnt that bad
But having them everyday is extremlly bad
One can of soda has a cup of sugar init, which is really bad For you, try switching to diet, it dosnt taste that diffrent, and Even that, only have 2 a week, better to drink water/juice.

Drinking any soda every day is bad but Coke's probably the worst. Drinking 2 every day is asking for trouble. Not only diabetes but simple weight gain is a concern and colas have caffeine as well. Check this out: http://missourifamilies.org/FEATURES/NUTRITIONARTICLES/nut83.htm
There is also reason to believe there maybe other things in soda that are bad for your health like pesticides. Being apprehensive of diabetes is a good motivation so I'd try and kick the habit now.

Drinking soda is unhealthy no matter what, it has no nutritional value. If you want to ween yourself off of soda, since caffeine is addictive, why not try Green Tea? Green Tea is known for it's high content of anti-oxidants, has less caffeine and also tastes pretty good.

Put a penny in a bottle of it for a couple of weeks and see what happens. It's fattening, causes cavities, and turns your teeth brown, for sure. But Mt. Dew has citric acid which is even worse on your teeth. The little white spots you see on Dew drinker's teeth are where the enamel is getting porous and will someday rot.

Soda has basiclly no nutrients and no essential value. All it is is SUGAR, SUGAR and more SUGAR!!!
Drinking a can or two a day is OK but 0 soda is EVEN BETTER!!!

yes. it is very very very very bad for you. first of all your getting too much sugar and your right to be scared of causing diabetes -- it will! also, coke has phosphoric acid in it which strips Calcium from your bones and makes them weak and brittle. coke as well as all sodas also make you dehydrated which keeps your body from being able to work effectively thus keeping it healthy. give it up!

Extremely bad for your health. Stay away from anything with a lot of sugar in it. You only have one body and in my opinion ......eating and drinking the wrong things are just as bad as doing drugs. treat your body good and it will treat you good. your body is roughly seventy percent water. try drinking more of that.......Good luck

I used to drink about 4 sodas a week. When I quit drinking soda altogether I lost 5 pounds. Soda has no health benefits. Its purely an indulgence, and an addicting one at that. Just dont drink it! Your body will thank you. :)

Yes it is. There is a lot of sugar in it. and soda pop is just not healthy for you. I stopped drinking soda pop all together last year and i actually lost weight too. and i have so much more energy. I just replaced the soda with water. and soon you forget that you are not drinking soda

Absolutely it's bad for you. Even diet soda is bad for you because of the artificial sugar they put in them. But regular soda is far worse. Drink lots of water, tea and vegetable juice instead, ice cold is best.

Yes, it is. Diet or regular, any soda is bad for you on a daily basis. The sugar can rot your teeth and lead to weight gain and other health problems, like you said, diabetes. If you stop now the effects can virtually be reversed by your body's natural flushing of its system within months. Also, diet soda contains aspartame, which allegedly can cause liver cancer (ONLY in high amounts, don't worry, you don't have cancer.) Soda can irritate the esophagus and trigger heartburn, also.
