no its not huge. its normal. sizes vary from store to store. I think 12 is too thin for your height. Congrats on losing all that weight. I have been battling to lose weight for years. I always wanted to get to a size 12 but I am a size 20 and although i dont look too bad I'm really depressed about it. Its all about how you feel in yourself. If I could get back to a sixe 16 I'd be more than happy. I was looking at photos recently and I look really slim and I know I felt fat then and started dieting. I wish I hadnt cos now years on I'm heavier than I've ever been. I have just had a baby so I'm joining a gym and I hope I have as much success as you at losing weight this time.

Size 16 isnt fat at all, and ur 5ft 8 so u sound perfect to me?
it all comes down to how u feel though? if ur not happy with how u look, then try a 14.....but only do it 4 urself, not because of what other ppl think, a size 16 confident happy person, looks a lot better than a size 12 miserable person, and well done by the way, 4 stone is fab, i cant loose 4 lb lol

Well done you for losing four stone!
Do keep going though not because sixteen is huge or people are going yuk, cos it isnt and they aren't but a size sixteen is still above the healthy weight range and as you have done so well wouldn't it be great to know you were not just thinner but healthy too.
Dont get too carried away though, love the skin you are in and love yourself whatever size you are.

No it's not for someone who is 5ft 8 that sounds very proportianate, don't just do the WW though, try some regular exercise too and whatever the outcome is you will look and feel a whole lot healthier!

First off, congratulations on your weight loss - 4 stone is something to be really proud of, and at a UK size 16, you can treat yourself to clothes in most high street shops without having to venture into the plus size department. 16 is the average UK size, and more than people going 'uck' I'd say people in the street probably wouldn't even notice your size! It's only people who are vastly overweight who generate stares, so I'd think it highly unlikely that people would be turning and gawping.
I'm about 5'7 and a size 10-12, which I'm quite happy with - if you want to get down to a size 12, then that's up to you, but don't feel guilty if you want to stay at a size 16 for the time being. The way people look at you will depend largely on how your dressed. And how good you look in those clothes will be very dictated by your underwear, and how your clothes sit over the top of it. I'd really recommend going for a proper bra fitting, as good underwear in the right size will not only make you feel good (nice underwear makes everyone feel more sexy!) but it will also make your clothes look good. So if you exude confidence in your new look, rather than people thinking "uck", they'll think "wow".
If you want to stay at a size 16, then that's great - just remember to continue eating healthily and your weight will stay constant. But if you want to get down to a 12, then I wish you the best of luck!

A size 16 is not "huge" as you are 5ft 8. You probably look in proportion anyway. You should not lose too much weight as it would be detrimental to your health.

I would tear you a new something if you were mine at that size - WOW. Monroe was a size 16 - it's only since the 80s that thin was made law in films, etc.
Being size 12 is cool if that is how you are but it should not be a goal. If you feel unhealthy or out of breath --- lose weight til you are happier about your size.
You sound great right about now

A size 16 in the UK is an average size, so you're fine!!! As long as your're happy in yourself. You're tall too! A better measurement to go by is BMI (body mass index), its takes your height and your weight and makes a calculation from it. The link is below for working out your body mass index and seeing what it means!

16 is average in the UK. OK so you want to be thin, but if you think you're huge, you're in good company. Just remember Marilyn Monroe was a 16 in UK sizes. In American sizes, you're already a 12.

Size 16 is not huge and it is the average size in the UK at the moment.
You should be so proud of yourself for losing 4 stone. You're the same height as myself so you don't want to lose far too much weight as you would look like a stick.
I'm currently at weight watchers and have lost 2 and a half stone and really struggling at the moment and feel like giving up. The only thing that is keeping me going is knowing how well I've done and the fact that I'm down 2 dress sizes.
Well done and be proud of what you've acheived.

Does it matter?
Are you at a point where you feel satisfied with how -you- look? Do you look in the mirror and think “Hmmn, lookin’ good girl” If yes, then perhaps continue to lose weight but don’t put a massive emphasis on it, if not then continue as you are.
I’ve lost nearly eight seven stone now, and honestly I now feel happy with myself, though I don’t think that’d take much hard work considering I was 18 stone and a short 5ft2. I’m a UK size 16 (have been 28!) I am still going to complete my overall goal of getting down to 8ish stone, but there is no urgency now because I feel fine.
Yes I still have a fat belly, spare tire, and my thighs are awful, but if I’m clothed I look reasonably good least in my opinion and that is all I care about!

Well done what an acheivement! Size 16 is great, bet you have lovely womanly curves just like me!! I don't diet any more I just eat really healthily and my weight just always stays the same, I don't think everyone is destined to be a size 12. And to be honest I don't think the battle is worth it. A size 16 is a healthy size for your height, enjoy your body, eat healthy and be very proud of yourself!

You are quite tall, so I think you'd be able to carry off a size 16 no problem. The average size in the uk is 14-16, so you are falling into the average category, but you will know yourself if you feel you need to carry on and lose more.

Hell no size 16 isn't huge - you are a tall woman and probably carry the size well, which is good.
As a fellow WW member (I have lost 7 pounds in 7 weeks!) all I can really say is I hope you go to the meeting as well as getting weighed in, they are really helping me (even though I swear to god they based Little Britain's Marjorie Dawes on our meeting leader!!!)
Make sure you don't go too thin - depending on your build, a size 12 may be too small for your height.
What system are you on, core or points? I'm on points, seems to be working well!

I think after losing 4 stone and being a size 16, you must feel pretty slim anyway. I lost 3st 8lb a few years back and was down to a 16 but I felt so little compared to how big I was.
I used to feel teh same though, I used to think "To my friends, I look great because I've lost so much weight, but to a stranger who sees me for the first time, I'm just a fat girl".
So I know where you are coming from.
Why dont you relax on the diet for a while, try to maintain your weight to see how you feel long-term, then if you feel like you have to, go back on the diet and lose some more.
I also dont think that size 16 is that big anyway. I bet you look great. x

Welll done, you've done brilliantly. Size 16 is the average size in the UK. It is not huge at all, especially if you are 5ft 8. Carry on dieting by all means if you like, but you could try to continue eating healthily to keep your weight in check - it is hard to diet all the time - but just eat healthily and don't stop suddenly, as I did that with weightwatchers and if you are not careful it all goes back on again. You're an inspiration! (I am not now going to have a biscuit with my coffee)

WOW!! Well done on losing four stone, I may come to you for some diet tips after I give birth in October!!!
Just think of your achievement so far and forget what others think. Carry on eating healthily and the weight will continue to come off, if you want to lose it. 16 is NOT huge, you are tall and I think a 16 if fine for your height.

im only 5'4 and size 16 and i wear a bikini top with shorts, i dont care what others think, yet my feet and knees do so i will diet again, but 16 for your hieght is not huge, 14 better 12 could be considered skinny for your bone structure, its all based on how do you feel, dont ever let others tell you what size you should be. we were all made perfectly just need some adjustments if we want to do them, nobody can tell you what to do lol good luck

Well Done!
A size 16 is the average size in the UK.
If you want to keep going then do, but if you do then do it sensibly.
And if you don't then that is fine too.
It's your choice.
And if you don't want to right now or still can't decide, then take a break and start again in a few months.
Best of luck hun.
