I know how you feel when i was 8 i weighed the same as i do now, sometimes its something you grow out of as you get taller but if thats not helping maybe Exercising regularly, and eating less sugary foods, or maybe you should see a doctor they give out leaflets and all that for exercise routines and food.

i think you are really brave saying you think you are kind of overweight and i know how nasty kids can be with their name calling but you really need to try to ignore those prats.
ask your parents to take you to the doctor and ask to be refereed to a dietitian. it's a good way of finding out what to eat and what to limit i took my 9 year old who is overweight.
most importantly is to try and increase your exercise as this is the key. you really want to grow into the weight you are rather than drastically losing weight at your age.
talk to your parents about the name calling and let them help you through it. good luck sweetie x

Try and keep active, make sure you walk as much as you can you should not have to watch your diet at your age, just stay away from takeaway food its better cooked at home even if its a burger...............

What you think is fat is probably nothing to someone else, my son felt like you do when he was your age he stopped swimming when the other kids said he had man boobs - then he discovered Cadets he joined up because he enjoyed going, and lost weight in a very short time - I would say don't worry too much about the food but take up something active that you absolutely love doing then you wont ever have to worry about what size you are - good luck

You are not even 14, dont worry too much.
How tall r u now? I am sure u will grow taller, for guys its upto 17-18 yrs.
And the sudden gain in height will take are of it.
Most of it should be puppy fat.
But if thats not the case then u must look after ur diet. If u eat a lot of junk food, stop that.
No fried stuff, or sweet for that matter.
if u r eating enuf veggies, maybe u r eating big portions of fruits, whih is unrequired. Too much of a good thing is bad too!
So remember everything in moderation.Thats the key.
Include an eercise regime in ur routine. take on a sport, a game that u like playing, tennis, basketball etc. that makes u move!
Maybe swimming?
Be active.
Dont worry too muh and u will be fineif u follow these guidelines.

Puppy fat is a myth; the fact is that people who are overweight in childhood, by and large (excuse the pun) become overweight adults.

No matter how healthy your diet is if you consume more calaries than you use you put on weight. Extra weight slows the metabolic rate and increases the problem; 'hot' natural food additives like mustard, curry and chili help to increase metabolic rate, however.

Walking isn't enough, it takes miles to walk off less than a hundred calories. Start slow by all means but work up to some really tough aerobic exercise, like stepping, which you can do in the privacy of your own room, if you have one; a breeze block will do to start with.

Stick to tasty natural foods and avoid processed foods if possible. Eat smaller meals at regular times, don't snack, except on fresh fruit or veg and when you feel hungry drink water before eating as a response. Hunger pangs are uncomfortable, but they are not fatal; they tell you that you could eat, not that you must eat.

Don't try do do all these things at once, build them like bricks into habits that are easier to keep over a few weeks rather than suddenly trying to change your lifstyle completely.

you have to train your body to eat smaller portions more often in the day. you should eat about half a plate of food, drink lots of water, then wait about 15 minutes, then if you are still hungry eat the other half.

Don't gorge yourself.

Also, make a list of what you are eating, you might be drinking lots of cokes or eating some really fatter stuff.

i lost like 20pounds for nothing cuz my esteem sucked

no.2 become veggietarian for like two months
i did it for six weeks but in ur case its diff
it helps you not take in fat from meat and stables ur body

Exercise and eating sensibly, cut out the sweets and crisps. Try to eat whole unprocessed foods, fruits and veg are great! Try to avoid any foods that are friend or fatty. Remember however that you do need to eat a very well balanced diet , you are still groing and it is imporatnt that you body has enough fuel to keep you strong and healthy . Drink plenty of water and avoid sweet or sugary drinks. Sign up for an intramural sports team or another extra curricular activity that will help you stay active.

Have fun with it, find a friend and go running or cycling, take up hiking or another outdoor activity. It will set you on the right track for a long and healthy life.

well, do you exersize,like an hour a week i would recomend for you start of slow and its all well and good saying you want to loose weight you eat fruit but you'll have to not eat the bad stuff anymore and if you do make it once in a while , i mean hey you have to live life but replace the chocolate with fruit not addd fruit to chocolate

Two things come to mind immediately, number one...start some type of aerobic exercise that makes you breathe deeply for 30 minutes each day...this will change you metabolism..you will use more calories. You could bicycle, use a StairMaster, a Nordic track (my favorite) anything that makes you breathe deeply. Number two, if you eat until you "feel" full, you are eating too much. Eat well balanced meals in reasonable amounts. Between meals if you are hungry, drink 12 ounces of water, this will satisfy your hunger pangs without giving yourself any calories. I hope this advice helps you. :)

Honey, if you diet and exercise - then you will lose weight - it's just a matter of time. Your weight won't drop off you in a month! Ask your mum or dad to help you - tell them not to buy lots of unhealthy food and go out to play football or a sport you enjoy more often because exercise is just as important as eating healthy. Don't get down about your weight - it's not all that bad - be more confident about yourself - it's nice to see that you want to look after your health. So as I said - ask you parents! They are sure to help you out!

u need to eat the right foods like you are, but this alone wont make you loose weight, why not try going to an after school club and doing some exercise there. walking to and from school (if you can) and taking regular exercise out of school will also help you to loose weight! good luck, hope this helps xx

You can only get fat by eating or drinking. You are either eating too much or eating the wrong foods for your personal metabolism. Consult a doctor or dietician. Do not diet without expert advice.

You have to do more than just eating fruits and vegetables, you can also overload on them, some fruits are loaded with sugar. You need a well balanced diet. And you need to burn more calories than you take in. So exercise is key.

Kids are mean now these days. I would combine your fruits and veggies and try a workout like Tae Bow. Just remember to divide your eating habits using the food pyramid guide. Go to the website I have listed in the resource. There's a section for the kids. It will give you great tips on how to eat well and lose weight. Hope this helped.

Are you the only one who's fat in your family?If not,then you dont have be confuse maybe its hereditary..but if yes,just watch what you eat but dont starve urself because its another way to make you eat more...i advice you to go to the gym,or you can do it at home like crunches,sit ups or for outdoor, run everyday in the morning until you sweat...it'll take time yeah,but its safe and sure.ok then goodluck

exercise, exercise, exercise. this littlest things add up. it is not going to be an instant thing. take stairs instead of elevator, bike or walk instead of asking for a ride. eat smaller meals more frequently. 5-6 meals instead of 2-3. oh yeah and exercise, exercise, exercise.

Hello. I was the same, its your age. My Mum used to call it puppy fat! You will grow out of it and lose weight as you get older.
I know that isnt much helpl to you now though.
How much do you exercise?
Also beware of hidden calories in sauces, dressings, etc like mayo and ketchup. even so called healthy dressing are high in sugar.

At your age it would be better for you to concentrate more on excercise. More football, basketball, running etc. Its no good eating veg and fruit if you are still eating crisps and sweets. You must cut down on those sugary snacks. I know its hard honey, I wish you well

It can be very distressing to have a weight problem though I have to say that 9stone doesn't sound that fat to me. Also at your age you are about to start developing quite dramatically so it is likely that weight will go on it's own.

Make sure you eat at least 1lb of fruit and veg a day, drink at least 3 pints of water a day. Avoid too much sugary food and drink and keep things like crisps to the occasional treat.

Probably most importantly for you though, consider taking up an exercise. Something fun and as active as possible. Provided you don't start eating more to compensate the weight will just fall off you. In 6 months time you wont' know yourself.
