some, but you need to exercise to increase the metabolism and to burn more calories, just dieting, you won't lose that much.

Well, I've been dieting since the end of March and I've lost 26 lbs. and 22 1/4 in. and all I've done is take walks and sometimes, but only a few times, jogged on the treadmill and lifted weights. I try to stay under 1500 canlories a day because then I'm still burning about 500-700 more than I'm burning every day. You should do something similar prolly. Keep a food journal, it helps you eat less because you SEE everything you eat. You would need to record calories if you keep a food journal and set a goal to stay under each day, that you know you're burning more than of course. To look up calories that you can't read on labels (i.e. fruit, vegetables, meats) go to www.calories.com. It's really helpful. Beware of serving sizeds (i.e. ramen noodles are actually 300 calories per small pack because although it say 150 under calories, it is only for 1/2 of that in that pack and who breaks it in 1/2?). Don't simply try to stay under the amount you set, but instead eat meals w/ like 200-350 calories per meal, that way you eat more meals throughout the day (i.e. breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack) and then your metabolism keeps going better. Also, exercise w/ your legs because it boosts your metabolism. Just remember to take a 1-3 mile walk every day at a fairly more brisk than normal walking pace, set a goal of calories to stay under per day and know that you burn more than that every day, eat 5-6 small meals to keep your metabolism going, and the weight should just fly off! Hope i helped! Good luck!

Another Perspective

You could, depends on what you take out of your diet, but exercising helps so much more. You should figure out about how many calories you burn a day. I know I burn about 1400 or so. So if I don't do any extra exercise, and I eat about 1400 I will even out. Don't get full for a few days, get satisfied. Don't eat anything when you aren't HUNGRY. Read the labels on every food you intake, if there is no label, don't eat it. Pay attention to your weight everyday, you can figure out how much or little you can eat to lose, maintain, and gain. And drink some extra water. I can tell if I am hording food in my body, hopefully you can too. But the best thing to do is exercise and diet, whatever you would have lost from just dieting you will lose double.

yes, but not as much as if you exercise as well. WHen you develop a good work out routine your body burns calories at a faster pace...even when you are not actually working out. WHen your body is in shape your metabolism increases.

Yes, in fact dieting is more effective than exercising alone when it comes to losing weight. You will get the best effect by combining both, because exercising will help prevent your metabolism from slowing down, a common effect of dieting. Don't forget about the aesthetic bonuses of exercising, including increased muscle tone.

If you take in less calories than you need you will, but it is best
to exercise along with diet. You will feel better, be stronger and
have muscle tone.

sure. if you eat less than you expend, your body will lose weight. You will end up as a thinner, out of shape, weak person.
For best results...exercise. Mix up weight lifting, running, swimming, boxing, jumping rope, etc. Eat right, get sleep.
The result? You will be strong, fit, flexible, fast, and slimmed down.
Like magic! And all without these goofy pills and herbs people talk about.

yes u will lose weight. but you will gain it back and gain back more. but if you do some lite execrise like walking for 30 minutes or so every day or every other day, the weight you lose, you will keep it off longer. also when you arrived at work, if you take your car, dont be in a hurry to park in front of the place, park father back and walk. very little step helps.
