You would but not in a healthy way. Try just eating only when you are hungry. If your family does family dinner or whatever and you're not really hungry don't finish everything on the plate, just eat slowly enough for your stomach to recognize that it's full which takes about 20 minutes. Don't not eat because that can cause health problems if it persists for too long as well as fatigue and dizziness in short term effects.

you would but its not good to do that...
if you must drink only Green Tea and water for one day
see how you feel..but chances are you will be starving and eventually you will get sick and become malnourished
theres an artical in i think people magazine about beyonce and how she only drank this one drink every day for a few weeks and lost like 20 pounds..but her drink had a lot of nutrients in it
IF you are going to do the tea thing then take lots of vitamins every morning. and dont do it for more then a few days

First of all, that will make you sick. Your body needs food. To lose weight try drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, without the tea. Eat vegetables and healty food. Stay away from bread, soda, chips, and some people gain weight eating pasta. If you cut just soda out of your diet you should lose weight, But not eating at all, you will end up passing out and your body will develop problems from lack of food. Look at the olsen twins. The one sister stopped eating, now she has eating disorder. Excerise 10 minutes a day and eat healthy!

Don't be upset, but that's a terrible, terrible way to lose weight. You would not be able to maintain that diet. Your body will eventually want food more than you can resist. Then when you finally do eat food, you will most likely binge and end up gaining more weight than you lost. Explore some healthier options.

Basically, it seems to speed up metabolism compared to just drinking water. It raises body temperature slightly, and it evens out blood glucose levels. You could also speed your metabolism up by drinking black tea, or getting more exercise, or chugging Red Bull or taking various other herbs.
That drinking Green Tea can lead to net weight loss is hard to prove. And it can't have a huge impact. How many caffeine addicts do you know that are fat? I know quite a few.
This page contains a detailed summary of research to date, and basically comes up with the statistic that drinking Green Tea daily may lead to a net loss of 5 lbs (2kg) of excess weight over a period of "months".
Now, I don't know about you, but most the overweight people I know need to lose a lot more than 5 lbs.
So, Green Tea may help lose a little weight or even keep it off. But it's a very small effect, in most people. Certainly a very small effect in people already living the western lifestyle: too much junk food, too little activity.

Wow ok apparently no one knows anything about dieting. You dont have to necessarily pick one single diet and do it. Just eat healthy things(they're not hard to spot) and exercise regularly AND YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT. The reason so many people fail is because they lack the motivation to stick with it.

you cannot sustain weight loss by starvation, the metabolism reacts to this by going into a storage mode. it is really how much you eat, control the size of the portion and find ways to be more active even if it is just walking!!!

That would be very foolish. Tea doesn't supply your body with all the nutrients it needs from a healthy, varied diet.

This answer is not just for the poster, but for everyone who wants to lose weight (fat).
Get off your LAZY butt and start burning off more calories than what you consume!
That's it! Done!
Heck, you can lose weight eating donuts and Twinkies if you want! I don't recommend that... it's not healthy... but if you burn off more calories than what the donuts and Twinkies provide, you'll lose weight!
There's ONE way to lose weight... that's it... just ONE way. It's easy... burn off more calories than the amount you take in.
A combination of exercise (burning off more) and eating less calories is usually the best way to go about it.
Now get off your butt and starting doing something about it! Arrghhh!!!

A teaspoon of sugar contains around 15 calories, so 3 cups of tea = 6 teaspoons of sugar = 90 calories.
Depending on your height, build, etc., you need a bare minimun of 1000-1200 calories a day to keep your body ticking over (e.g. you burn calories keeping warm, using muscles to breathe in and out, keeping you heart beating, etc.) Therefore, if you only drank three cups of tea (with sugar) a day you would very quickly become seriously ill. Your body would go into starvation mode and start to break down muscles as well as fat. Eventually you would faint, as there would not be enough energy to keep you going.
If you try any extreme diet like this, you will lose weight in the first few days. However, what most people don't realise is that this is not loss of fat - instead you lose a couple of pounds burning of the store of glycogen that is in your liver, and you also lose weight as there is less food being digested within your body. To put it bluntly, there is typically about 7lbs of food working it's way through your bowels. If you stopped eating, this digested food would continue to come out of your body (as poo) and would not be replaced by new food, so you would lose weight, but you wouldn't have lost any fat. (You would also appear thinner, as your stomach and intestines would be emptier, but again, this isn't losing fat.)
Therefore it's very important not to try crash diets like this - not only are they bad for your health, they also don't help you to loose weight. It's much better to cut down on your calories slightly (e.g. miss out biscuits at Coffee Break) and take up more exercise (e.g. walk home from work). Doing this will mean that you are taking less calories in and using more calories up, so you should start to slowly loose weight. Aim to loose 1 - 2 lbs a week, and you'll be losing fat, rather than damaging your body.

with sweetners, yes, because your body id not getting the nutrients at all. This is not healthy, lose weight normally by eating right and excercising and you'll feel better, have more energy, feel good about yourself. As soon as you go back to eating regularly after doing the tea and water thing, you'll gain the weight back. diets arent shortterm weight loss solutions, they are a healthy way of life, you can still enjoy the foods you like, the thing to remember is portions, moderation and self control. Trust me, just tea is not good self control

How about death as a side effect?
Come on - use some sense.
Yes you'd lose weight, yes you'd be weak and in pain and grumpy... you might even start to lose your hair... then you'd either start eating again and become fatter than before you started or starve to death.

Why would you stop eating breakfast, its proven that eating breakfast makes you lose weight faster than those who dont and if your going to drink tea, dont add sugar and dont use full fat milk, thats the blue lid one I think.
I just read it again and you want to cut out all meals? so your not going to eat at all?
thats called anorexia, you will die.
