I need to loose weight and im 11?!?
i really need help loosing weight!! its hard! and please dont say ''your 11 years old you dont need to loose weight''...its very annoying... there some kids out there that just want to be skinny and feel bad when they see skinny people reveal their shape with tight shirts! i want to loose the pounds over the summer so i can have more self confidence and be more you know loud not shy all the time...thanks

You never posted your height and weight. You may be at a healthy weight.

At 11 you are starting to or already going through puberty. You are supposed yo have a couple extra pounds during this time it's natural.

Eat right and workout. But don't go overboard just to look like other people.

Stop eating a lot, and get out and exercise.

That is all you need to do.

Your metabolism is VERY high compared to older people, so USE IT!

If you can, have your doctor check you to make sure you do don't have an over active Thyroid.

Past that, I would make a commitment to go out and be active. Not necessary a sport or lots of exercise, but just out walking and moving around. Standing up can be more healthy for you than anything.

It's easy to start strong, but old lifestyles come back for a reason. You will need to make some changes that will not let you revert back to a sedentary lifestyle that the vast majority of the population is dealing with.

It's very hard to loose weight. Here are some tips.....write down what you are going to eat before you eat it. If it looks like alot then it probably is. Remember that your stomach is only the size of you fist. That's how much you should eat. If you are hungry then drink a glass of water and wait 15 minutes. Most of the time when you sense you are hungry you are really thirsty. Also cutting out things like soda's and sugars will cut alot of calories from your diet. I have a hard time with red meats. I have recently substituted hamburger meat for ground turkey (it tastes basically the same in dishes.) Being 11 you can ask your parents to help you with this. Also, be sure to exercise at least 30 minutes, 4 or more times a week. You have to burn what you take in. The only reason to eat is to nourish your body. Please be careful not to go the other direction and starve yourself. Think of a size you want to be that is practical and then go for that. Don't focus on the lbs.

I think you should check with your doctor if you need to lose weight first. I do agree, though, that even young people, as old as eight, need to lose weight (given the fact that obesity is an epidemic). I've been pushing my brother to lose weight and he's only eight (he has a double chin and eats two meals per mealtime).

Check with your doctor first...I got my brother checked too.

Eat small meals, and don't ever starve yourself or else your body won't know when it will be fed, so it will store fat the next time you eat.

Drink a glass of cold water everyday...exercise for half an hour.

Walk it off. I used to do lots of walking with family and friends and I lost over summer pounds once - when I had time to walk alot. If you don't mind jogging it is good for you too. Just make sure you get your breakfast, lunch and supper in. Breakfast gives you the energy you need for the start of the day.

well that depends how much do you weigh?

68 under -too skinny (seriously a health problem)
69-78 : pretty skinny, needs to gain a little more wegiht
79-85: perfect!!!
86 - 90 : a little overweight, could be lost down a couple punds but not nessesary
90-100 : could use a little weight lifting
101-115 : Eating healtheir and more excerise is required, you need to cut down a bit.
116 up: you NEED to loose this weight

I all depends on how much you need to loose
If youre 86-90 lbs. and you really want to loose those couple of pounds, just add an extra 15 min. to your daily excersise
If youre 96-100 lbs., try adding an extra 20 min to ur daily excersise, or go work out 20 min and 3-4 days a week at a gym
100-115 lbs, a gym would be good- excersise daily but dont overwork or starve yourself
If your 116 lbs or more, ask a doctor because they could come up with a good schedule for eating and excersising for you

I know how you feel; I am also 11. I cannot tell if I am overweight but i am 5 foot 3 and i weigh like 105-110 lbs. So I really want to know also. I don't care what others think about my size, but I do. I don't want to be overweight either. But just remember, we are all beautiful in God's eyes. And with us he can do incredible things. The main thing for kids to do is stop drinking soda. Drink something else. Maybe you can find a tip on site below that helps you. Also many adults misspell lose weight or losing weight. Lose the weight and your clothes will be loose. Also all the salt in chips and pretzels are very fattening. Eat some slice apples for a snack.

first of all, skinny people are nasty, just like being too fat is not good either! healthy, healthy healthy.. repeat repeat repeat... HEALTHY.
If you need to lose weight I would suggest eating VERY slow and finish half on your plate. If in 30 min your still hungry have an apple. eat fruits as snacks.. best o' luck

you can eat healthy, run a couple miles, and my personal favorite,doing sit ups!! sit ups really help your stomach lose body fat. i can already do like, 500 sit ups in 1 day. but it really takes a lot of practice. anyways, i hope all goes well!! (i'm tryin to lose a couple pounds too. lol) hope this helps!! X3

Just eat well, excercise and have fun. Don't worry too much about the weight, and also as you grow keep in mind that you'll get taller, too, and your weight is going to even out. Dieting at your age can be very bad for your health, you could end up really sick. You should focus on eating regular amounts of healthy food and doing things that you love. If you are really worried about it, you should get involved with a sport or physical art like dance. Good luck!

Your pretty smarticle for an 11 year old... have you ever did any sports before?Try dancing..... IT REALLY HELPS! i am in dancing. i have been daning for 7 years. My age is between 12-15 (not telling) and i weigh 73 pounds! (and no i am not anerexic) my doctor says its heathy because i am still growing.... but anyways....... yeah and if you can try to try out for danceteams! they give you work outs in that class! whoo!

i know u dont want to hear this but, you are only 11, by trying to diet at such a young age you will only mess up your body, not only that but it will increase your chances of having an eating disorder, and believe me, that is not what you want, my suggestion would be to simply watch what you eat, dont eat junk or drink pop and make sure that you eat consistantly, breakfast, lunch and dinner, never eat after 6 at night, go for walks but dont over do it, your bones are still developing, be a kid, odds are its just babyfat and will eventually start to go away, you will also hit a growth spurt where you will get taller and slim out, your time will come, dont grow up faster than you have to, cherish your childhood, you only have a couple years of childhood left, anyways, this might not be what you wanted to hear but i hope it might help

Here are somethings that help me, but it depends on your own eating/exercising habits.

Cutting out all the sugary drinks like coke, lemonade, etc. (I usually add a little water to my juices to dilute all that extra sugar), Eating 4 smaller meals a day rather than 3 large ones, eating most in the morning and least at night (Breakfast is most important), Make sure you do something active for at least a half hour everyday by getting your heart rate up (walking, running, biking, swimming, etc), Drink LOTS of water!

As for actual food choices-- Take out all the excess sugar and refined bread type foods. Whole grain is better (Granola, 9 grain bread, 100% whole wheat bread). Try to eat way more veggies and fruit. Make sure you get enough protein (eggs, fish, white meat) and dairy (Yogurt, milk). I think another important thing is to NOT pay too much attention to the fat content because you do need some fat to digest certain vitamins your eating, and to actually enjoy your food!

I think if you focus more on eating and exercising to feel healthy, rather than how many pounds you want to lose, you will have the most success. Its all about life changes, rather than a diet you do for a month and thats it. Just make sure your realistic about it and don't get discouraged. It is healthiest to lose weight slowly, but certainly a summer is enough time to get back into shape and look great for school in the fall.

Also, don't let other peoples appearances make you feel so bad and hold you back from being "loud" and more social. When you feel good about your body and mind it shows. So don't focus so much on the bad stuff right now and think about what you enjoy about yourself. Its generally not a good thing to compare yourself and rely on your weight to feel happy. Feel happy about a hobby or skill you have instead.
