I eat a lot and I dont want to get fat ... so can someone please HELP!?
Ok, I eat a lot. For breakfast I eat either cereal or scrambled eggs and meat or sometimes just meat. After breakfast, I eat chips or candy bars. And for dinner I eat meat and vegetables or soup. After dinner, I eat a lot of chips. Especially today I ate chips, chips, icee bar, gummy worms, and now I'm eating candy. I do want to get healthy, and I dont want to be fat. Right now I am average weight, 72 pounds for a 12 year old girl. So I just want help to eat healthier than I usually do. Any help?

You are pretty thin right now, but once you hit puberty, you will gain a ton of weight! If you continue eating like that, you will gain more weight than you need to as a teenager. You should really try to eat fruits and veggies as an alternative to chips and candy. If you feel you can't live without chips/candy, try limiting yourself to one serving each day.

If you feel you need to eat that much just make sure that you move around alot. Ya know go for a walk every other day. Or work out. It doesn't have to be a lot just amek sure that you are burning off the extra stuff that your intaking. JUST REMEMBER DON'T OVER DO YOUSELF!

ok well obviously if your 72 pounds your not fat
and if your worried about health then instead of eating chips all day try to replace it with some kind of fruit or vegetable../...
theyre healthy and very delicious..
and try to get alot of exercize...

well you are still young your metabolism is working faster than people older..........but

If you want to start doing something about it now then my advice would be to not eat as much in between meals( or at least not junk food). When your mom or dad goes shopping next ask them to buy a few healthy things like granola bars, fruits, vegtables. Also try to go for a litle walk everyday just so your moving around a little...and if you do sports then you should be fine.

When you're snacking - what is it you want? What are you craving?

Salty? Try pretzels instead of chips. Have a slice of lean ham - either on a piece of bread, or cut up into pieces on melba toast, triscuits, or over a bowl of spinach with a little lite raspberry vinaigrette, or a *serving sized* portion of ranch or light mayo.

Sweet? Have an orange. Celery with peanut butter - with or without raisins on top.

Have a slice of wheat toast with margarine and sprinkled with a little Cinnamon sugar.

Do you snack because you're bored? Then ask yourself what you'd rather be doing. If you're too tired to even consider going for a walk or shooting some basketball or whatever, put on your favorite music and do some stretching. Or take a nap! 20 minutes and you'll feel more rested. Then call a friend or maybe do some writing.

If you're hungry, by all means, eat. You're body is telling you it needs fuel. Just make sure what you're eating gives you that fuel.

And....drink tons of water. I love it ice cold and even with a wedge of lime sometimes. The colder it is, the more I enjoy it and the more it's a treat and not just a chore to do 'cause it's good for me.

Control your quantities. Eat just the right food and at just the right amount and try doing some exercising like Jumping Jacks, Jogging, etc. to make your body slim and slender.

When I was 8, I weighed over 100! I didn't care what anyone was saying about my weight but then, I realized I was a VERY OBESE. I started to be more physical. I do Basketball, Dancing, Badminton and Soccer. This made me lose 20+ pounds!

Try controlling what you eat and how much you eat so it won't be a problem. Hope this helped.... =)

You never mentioned vegetables or fruits in your question. Cut out the junk food and replace it with veggies(raw or cooked), fruit, Healthy popcorn, non-fat yogurt, rice cakes, etc. You can eat tons if you choose the right foods.
Try to cut down on sugar. The less you eat of it, the less you will crave it. Besides being full of empty calories, it can lead to diabetes and other problems.

Here's my advice, do not eat so many sweets, just eat fruits and veggies and its okay to have a sweet once a week though... hhope that helps !!! ♥♥♥☻☻☺☺♥♥♥

WEIGTH WATCHERS IS THE BEST EVER AND IT ISNT A DIET!!! it taste so good. one day my mom got some weight watchers icecream so i asked to try some and i feel in love. its low..calorie and low fat but taste better and healthier than regular icescream....plus they have good dinners to like the parmesan chicken breast with a baked potato and sourcream!!YUM. And best off all the food taste normal yet i lost 8 pounds in 1 weeks!!!! i can also eat other food (chips,cookies etc.) that isnt weight watchers and still loose alot of weight....good luck!!!!!!!

Yes, eat healthier. You're growing now so you can manage to keep the weight off but if you continue at that rate you will develop bad habits and become a fat teenager and fat adult. If you're eating because you're bored, stick a carrot or a piece of fruit in your mouth. Chew sugarless gum. Find something to occupy your mind so you don't think about eating between meals. Ask your parents to stop buying you so much junk food so you're not tempted to eat it. Ask your parents to buy healthier snacks such as fruit bars instead of ice cream and rasins instead of gummies.

I bet you already know the answer to this. But i can tell you where you're headed if you don't cut out the junk. i've spent the last year and a half losing 67 lbs just so i won't be at risk for all sorts of awful diseases. it would have been a lot easier if i hadn't gained the weight in the first place. you're in a good place right now. you aren't overweight, yet. you know what's wrong with your diet and you have the power to make the changes. i'm not saying you have to stop all the good stuff. life is for living. but you have to limit it. a small bag of chips a day. one small scoop of ice cream. 5 gummi bears. pick one thing for the day. don't slam it down. sit down, no computer, no t.v., no tunes. really enjoy what you're eating, get as much out of it as you can. replace the other munchies with good munchies, carrots, apple slices, experiment find your favourites and enjoy them. good luck.

Eggs and such for breakfast isn't bad. They have high protein which is harder to digest and makes you feel fuller longer. It also makes your body work harder just by digesting, which means you're burning calories.

Try replacing the candy bars, chips, and and snacks with fruit (Bananas or blueberries are great) or nuts. Almonds are a good choice. Any one of those ought ot be easy to carry with you at school.

Go through the health food aisle of your grocery store and find high protein, low fat foods to try. Soy chips take some adjusting but, if you're motivated, you can get used to them.

As far as meat, switch to fowl. I think breakfast sausage made from turkey is great. It's also low fat and high protein. Chicken is also good, ofcourse. If you need ground beef, choose then low fat option.

Good for you trying to establish eatting healthy habits while you're young!

Stop snacking on chips and candy. That's the only way to stop from getting fat. You would have to exercise 3 hours a day to work off all those calories.

Well your just going to have to WATCH how MUCH you eat. It's ok to have "snacks" in fact it's good. If you eat SO MUCH why don't you eat small amounts at each setting.

Best thing to do is talk to your Dr. they can help out a LOT.

First of all you need support, so tell your parents that so they will buy better foods for you and ask them to support you. then for the first couple of days it may be hard but eat very little, that way it will shrink your stomach and you wont want to eat much. then only eat when you are hungry... AND EAT HEALTHY. Good Luck

just drink a lot of water

and eat some lemons to burn that fat

just keep exercising daily and probably do at least 25 push ups and sit ups before you go to sleep

that way you can eat all you want..but if you wanna lose weight then start a diet first (no candy, no carbs, just salds and green food)

then when you're at your best weight start eating like a piggy =) but still exercise

well the food you eat is very unhealthy and will probably have a bad impact or your life later, my advice is to ask a doctor and try these things to help ignore the cravings: drink lots of water, eat fruit, get active and go outside and do some sports or something and tell your parents to keep the junk away from you

eat healthier like instead of candy eat a veg. or fruit & break ur big meal into litter meals & ur not gaining weight b/c u have a high matablism just try to be healthy cuz u will go through puberty soon & gain weight & if u don`t learn to eat healthy now u will regreat it in the end

Instead of eating candy, smoke crack. All crack heads are skinny. JUST KIDDING!! Throw in some carrot sticks or bran cereal every now and again and you won't get fat, ever!

Try removing the tempting food from your house, if the temptation isn't there, you might not eat as much. you might also try chewing gum whenever you crave something like chips. other than that just make sure you eat 3 meals a day and excercise a bit....might a suggest a wii?

Eat more fruits and more healthy. Make nutrition more availible and in sight. Eat 3 big, healty and balanced meals a day and eat less amounts of Chip and sweet and drink less Soda. Also exercise is important.

Its great that you can eat whatever you want right now and go crazy, but once you hit puberty, you're body is going to change and if you keep up the lots of chips and candy, you're going to gain weight like crazy.
So start slow.
First think about what you eat. If you're still hungry after a good breakfast, maybe its not so good. A good breakfast will give you energy and fill you up for a while. Depending on when you eat your meals, you should probably find HEALTHY snacks to eat inbetween. Sugary stuff like candy won't fill you up, and once you're done eating , you'll still be hungry. There are plenty of "candy bar" tasting energy bars out there.
Lunch should be smaller, like a pit stop between Breakfast and Dinner. If you play sports, you'll need to eat a little more. Whole grains, low fat meats ( like turkey breast) and colorful vegetables will keep you going.
When you get, if your still hungry have cut up fruit and peanut butter. When you go wandering into the kitchen, say to yourself "Am I hungry or am I bored?". Chances are you're bored.
For dinner, eat whatever is there, but be smart about it. Figure out what the right portion size is and don't feel pressured to fill up your plate. A regular dinner plate can accomodate more than two portions of a meal. Remember that half your plate should be vegetables and the other half should be carbs and meat.
After dinner, try not to eat after around 8ish at night. Your body doesn't want to keep digesting after you've gone to sleep.
Don't deprieve yourself of anything. Once you deprieve yourself of a food, it becomes a temptation and you've made food your enemy.
You don't need to do all this all at once. Because you're still young, you still have sometime to enjoy yourself. But remember that once you hit puberty, you're body will change completely and you might not be able to eat everything you used to.
