Crunches work abs.
Try push-ups or pull ups or dips. [put arms at 90º angle behind you on a couch or bench. then put legs crossed at ankles in front. then you just dip!]
Also, don't watch the scale! Watch your clothes! Don't forget, muscle weighs more than fat! If your clothes fit, but the scale reads high- you are just gaining muscle! Thats Good!
Oh, and Try to mix up your routine! This can help a lot.
And don't forget to eat well. don't starve-but get plenty of Carbohydrates to help balance out what you are losing and help you lose in the right places.
and Weight loss can take about 6+ weeks! Patience is the key...and The longer it takes you to lose it-the longer you'll keep it off!
hope I helped!

Crunches build muscles. Muscles weigh more than fats so you might as well gain weight. But still, you’ve done a good work since you are burning fats when you are gaining muscle tissues. Muscles help you burn more fats. Just keep doing your crunches and try several exercise and diet.
You have to be careful of your diet. Avoid food with fats and cholesterol. Reduce your sugar consumption. It’s also good if you reduce the amount of food you eat. Drink Green Tea instead of carbonated drinks.
One good way of losing weight is through cardio exercise. Try running at least 30 minutes a day for 3 days in a week. Walk atleast 1 hr a day. Try different sports like table tennis, badminton or lawn tennis. This will make your arm skinnier.
Good Luck!

There are 2 things that count
Calories
exercise that makes you sweat
Nothing else works except to tone you. Line out a 1200 to 1300 calorie a day diet, lots of water adn increase your physical activites, ones that make you sweat.

Um you need to burn calories crunches barely do that run or jog, lift light weights. Doing crunches everyday can be bad because your body gets used to the exercise.

Crunches are nothing for losing weight. Abs are small muscles, less muscle, less calories burned. Try involving legs, back. The dead lift will burn more calories in 1 rep than 20 crunches. Squat, lunge, barbell row, bench press, leg press and other power lifting moves burn the most calories, build the most muscle.

3 words hun
Diet and Excercise
you're doin an ok excercise but you need way more cardio to burn those calories and fat. jogging, jump rope, anything in that general area.
when you do crunches you are only building a muscle, not necessarily burning fat. you can do all the crunches you want but if you do not have the proper aerobic excercise and diet, that belly fat will always cover those rock hard abs!!
now in diet, i really dont have to tell you what's good and whats bad, because in the back of your mind you do know whats healthy and whats not.
i really hope that helps
send me a pic of those rock hard abs in a month!!!

Exercise creates adrenaline which will keep you up at night so don't wait to late to do your crunches.
Do push-ups, pull-ups, and/or lift weights every other day for your arm fat.
About you not losing weight... don't eat meat past like 7pm, eat less bread/starches/carbs/sugar, eat more veggies, and say hello to water! It's been proven that just by increasing your water intake can cause a person to loose weight.
Overall eat healthy and drink less everything but water.
Good Luck!(:

Crunches help your abs get muscles not lose weight. try dieting and running (or walking!). Maybe you don't need to lose weight at all, cuz some ppl think they do but they don't. Seek a second opinion.

Cardio helps you lose weight, crunches help you build muscle. There is no way to target zones for weight loss. Your body will decide what comes off first. You can do crunches and lift hand weights as much as you want, but other than toning the area...you aren't likely to see diminishing fat.
Your best bet is to introduce some kind of cardio workout to your daily routine, which will help you lose weight all over your body and for toning and definition, there are crunches and circuit training (or resistance training) which focus on muscle development. Also, building muscles supposedly helps increase your metabolism. And consider a change to your eating habits to help you along.
Best of luck!

Do more cardio along with the crunches. What you are doing now is building muscle under a layer of fat, which can ultimately make your stomach look even bigger! Try aerobics, bicycling, jogging or even walking to burn more fat. Also, you can't "spot reduce" fat on certain parts of your body. Unfortunately, your body burns fat stored throughout your body and not in a specific area. .

You need to do some aerobics excercises with weights. You're only pushing the fat closer to you.

Depsite popular belief, you can't "spot burn" fat, which means exercising a certain area to eliminate fat in that area. Pushups won't burn fat on your arms, like crunches wont burn fat on your stomach.
Crunches will actually help you gain weight, because muscle is almost twice the weight of fat... you will have strong abs though.
Cardio workouts like running, jogging, jump rope, or biking should help you to lose weight - by eliminating fat.
Do a cardio workout for at least 20 minutes per day, 5 days per week. (20 minutes is not much exercise, but start there and increase your workout time by a few minutes every day.)
I hope I was helpful.
Good luck!

It's a good idea to see a doctor (whos devoted their life to helping people in your situation) about losing weight. A dietitian should be able to help you out. You want to do this in a healthy manner. Good Luck!

eat healthy, and exercise...
try pilates...the exercise routines help you lose the fat and get toned as well...it will make your arms and thighs look less flabby and more toned which is probably what you are looking for i am guessing...but remember eating healthy plays a vital role... do not starve yourself or eat less...just replace the greasy/unhealthy meals and snacks with organic healthy alternatives...eat more salads...eat fat free or light foods...please do this the healthy way...if you are still not sure go talk to someone who knows their foods and have them help you or look on line for some tips on what specific foods to eat... :)
good luck...

Crunches do not burn fat, they build muscle. You need to increase your cardio workout to burn off fat.
You might also want to think about doing your workout in the morning. This way your activity level remains high and you'll burn fat and calories through out the day. If you exercise before you sleep, you're defeating the purpose.

Thats not nearly enough for weightloss, but will give you good ab muscles (underneath whatever fat you have)
For weight loss, youre going to have to work out for real. LIke running a couple of miles, several times a week, for example. Weight training in addition to cardio work like running will help too. The crunches count as weight training, but youre only doing one muscle group. Ya gotta do the whole body, kid.

yeah... Um, doing crunches is great and all, but you're only toning the affected areas that you are working out. For the arm fat, light weights, 5-10 lbs... I'd say, start at 3 sets of 12, then move up... if you want.
To lose weight, you are going to need to do some cardio... meaning, get the heart rate up, and keep it up for a prolonged period of time... jogging, biking, hiking, etc...

ok stop.
crunches work your abs and make them strong. strong abs are good, but only help prevent back injury.
you need to burn more calories. 2500 calories = 1 pound. most people burn about 2000 calories with out exercise. try jogging/walking and lowering your overall fat intake.

cardio works to lose weight because it speeds up your metabolism so that you keep burning after you stop exercising, and as for the arms, you can't spot reduce, it just doesn't work, but you can tone them up.

You will have to add cardio (running/jogging/whatever it takes to keep your heart rate up), and do about 45-60 minutes (4-5 times a week) to start burning fat throughout your entire body.
Doing crunches tones your stomach, but if you're overweight, then the only thing that it does is tone the abdominal muscles under the fat.
