Well, it is technically overweight. But you should have your body fat percentage checked, because it also depends on other factors such as muscle mass, frame size and also where you carry your fat. For your height and age, you probably want to keep your weight below 130lb. HTH : )

i am 5'3 and weigh 129 and im 11. you are not extremely obese but eat healthier and excersize more and im sure you can drop 10 pounds like that!

*remember the older you are the harder it is to lose weight so dont give up or it will get worse and worse. and yes everyone has pudge

To figure what your average weight should be, use this formula:

105 lbs for the first 5'
5 lbs for every inch over 5'

So according to this formula, you should weigh approximately 115 lbs.

i really dont think it matters unless you make it, but i am 15, 5'6 1/2 and weigh 150, but i exercise constanly...if you want to lose like a few pounds really easily, work out as hard as you can for 45 min. then sit in a steam room for 10 min, then take a cld shower. do this every other day, and youll feel amazing( and the steam opens pores so you can get rid of the extra oil in your skin!)

It might be a little but its ok!!! Us teenagers weight is wierd right now. If your still woried, just drinking a little more water, be careful what you eat (eating is good for you, if your eating healthy)when you eat it keeps your metabolism going and thats the thing that burns your fat! Walk to school and do good in p.e. Don't worry your prob really preety1

No it isn't This is the beginning of life long obesity. As far as ways of losing weight, watch what you eat. Nutritious meals and lay off of the sugary soda, candy, fast food ice cream etc. Be intelligent about it. Exercise. Join some sports and give it your best effort combined with sensible eating the weight will burn off in time.

Your weight is ok but a healthy weight for you would be around 90-125 pounds. To make your weight go down just excercise regularly and eat healthy. You could also check your BMI just make sure to drink lots of water.

140 is overweight for anyone 5'2, but at 14 it is a good age to learn to eat correctly, to eat only the calories needed for the activities that you do.
As to activities, that will help you lose some weight, and keep it under control. Never diet, just have a new way of eating. It is difficult, and the older you get the harder it will be. We tend to slow down as we age, and so your new habits will enforce good healthy ways of eating.
As to confusion, yes, I can see that as a problem. There is so much inconsistent messages out there as to how to lose weight. Bottom line, think of yourself as a car, and food as gas. If you are going from Breakfast to lunch (a block) eat enough for that trip only( putting gas in car.) Then from lunch to dinner..eat enough for that amount of time (i.e. gas for that trip.) Sadly, we all fill our car with enough gas to overflow, and then we pick up weight. I know the analogy is difficult, but think of it in other ways then just eating..something that makes sense to you.
Also, think of things to do besides eating. If hungry, eat a snack that is already at hand; call a friend, work on the computer, anything to keep busy.
Immediate gratification is an enemy to most of us; we see it and we want it. If you can learn to put off eating that hamburger on a lovely bun, or that ice cream, you'll soon have everything under control, rather than it controlling you.
Think healthy eating, not diet! Good luck.

A lot of what is "normal" depends on your family genetics that is, is your mom bottom heavy or thin or overall heavy, is your dad tall and think or short and chubby. As well, bone structure has a lot to do with it. For 14 years old, you're still considered an adolescent. You will have another growth spurt around 16-17 years of age. Your hormones are also going to start kicking in soon. Its going to change the entire way your body is shaped. Your breasts will start to develop, your face will elongate, your hair will change a little bit-getting darker perhaps, your waist will define itself and your bottom will also become more mature looking. I would not start getting obsessed with weight at your age, your hormones are directly affected by the amount of fat you have. Your ideal weight is about 115-120 pounds depending on your height. There are many websites like www.goodlifefitness.com that have free calculating tools that can help you figure out your ideal weight. If your plan is to loose weight, drink more water (6-8 8 oz cups a day) as women/girls are generally dehydrated without knowing, eat fruits and vegies, stay away from fast foods especially as their fat content is rediculously high. Eat lots of salads. The Canada Food Guide and American Food Guide is an excellent place to start. Its what you eat and exercise that makes you loose weight and you're at the ideal age to start a healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life. Having a little "pudge" is nothing as well. Think of it as your resource in case you get seriously ill, or injured. Whatever you do, dont starve yourself because everything that you will eat will be stored away as a reserve because your body doesn't know what its going to eat again. Eat regular small healthy meals, exercise daily. Work out at least 3 times a week--the first 20 minutes of exercise your body uses up glycole which is sugar, all of the minutes after that, the body burns up fat. Weightwatchers also has a great website with healthy recipes and exercise tips as well.

you're probably in that awkward stage.. but i would make that you're exercising 3-5 times a week , even if it's just speedwalking, and that you eat healthy (getting enough fruits & veggies, wholewheat bread/grain, protein/dairy sources). join a sport or start going to the gym with your mom if you're really worried.

im 5'7 and weigh 140 . im 14 too. my weight seems ok for me i just need to loose a pound or two but hey it doesnt hurt. you sound a little overweight all u need to do is exercise and eat right and drink lots of water. i use to be the same way when i was about 12 i was a little chubby girl but exercising and swimming helped me slim down.

You sound a little overweight, but nothing to panic about. The best things you can do to control your weight are: cut out all junk foods (candy, cookies, doughnuts, chips, French Fries, ice cream) and fried foods (fried chicken, fried fish, fried eggs, bacon, etc); and EXERCISE 4 times per week. This could be brisk walking, swimming, tennis, aerobic dancing, running, treadmill, elliptical machine. It's wise to stay away from all fast food restaurants that serve fried foods.

At your age and height, a healthy weight would be between about 105-115lbs, give or take another 5 lbs, so I'd say you are a bit overweight. If you'd like to lose a few pounds, try to exercise. Take some dance classes, go running or swimming, go to the gym, join a sports team (soccer, basketball, softball, etc.)
