This is what my doctor told me:
Change your mindset, food is for survival not for taste or pleasure. Remember to just figure what you need to survive and think of that when eating, DO I NEED THIS TO FEEL FULL OR TO SURVIVE?
So far I lost 10 pounds with that attitude, try it, it doesnt cost anything for a new attitude.

time to make some changes.....and do it slowly, get a pedometer and start counting your steps trying increase them everyday, increase your water intake, stay away from foods containing the white ingredients of sugar and flour.....breads,pasta,rice.....take time to make a fruit salad or veggie platter with a low calorie dip, find a friend to walk with ,put on a good song and dance.....slow but surely those unwanted pounds will melt away and you will have more energy

wow, I don't know if I can top these great answers but it seems like you need a life change. It was one of the most difficult things Ive ever done and I have been through marriage, divorce and three kids. But to actually change the way you think about and live your life is much more than just to stop eating. As a matter of fact you should never stop eating! Food is love is life, look for inspiration in something and start slowly. Just because you cheat one day or don't get your workout in don't let it destroy you, everyone slips just make sure you get up and do better the next day. If you have cable tune in to a show called "Workout" with Jackie Warner shes awesome, also I am really excited about Kevin Trudeaus books on Natural Cures and how to loose weight. Little things like those fueled my ambition, they may not be for you but don't forget to constantly educate yourself!

I started Weight Watchers in January and it was really working for me. I had to stop before even a month was out because I found out I was pregnant and you can't weigh in there if you are pregnant. But, I plan to go back after the baby is born and resume where I left off. It is really easy to follow and shows great results if you stick to it. It helped me to be accountable to someone (the person weighing me). I didn't want to have gained and have someone else see the numbers...so I tried really hard to lose every week...and was successful. I lost about 15 pounds before I had to stop going.

I find lots of tips here: www.shape.com
There are good healthy recipes and suggestions for different types of diets. Always talk to a doctor first. But even walking for a few minutes a day is going to help start you on the right track. Try 15 min. When that gets easier then move up to 25 min. Take small steps till you get stronger. Remember it won't come off over night, but with hard work you will see results. I'm not a skinny chick so I know what it's like to get discouraged and feel left out of life. You can change it. Good luck!!!!

You need to see a doctor before you do anything.
You also have to want to lose weight and change your eating habits. Nothing will work until you are ready to change your life style.
But go to the doctor so they can check your heart and blood pressure and other vitals. They will also be able to recommend ways to get started on losing weight. Good luck!

The best advice i can give you is to consult your doctor and ask him/her for a diet Plan that will work for you and ask what exercises you can start out with so you don't over do it. I lost 25lbs. walking twice a day, it could work for you. Good luck.

You have to get in the gym, start off slow, and gradually work your way up to a more aggressive work out. I suggest going to a gym and talking to a personal trainer. You also need to change your diet dramatically. You should go to the doctor and ask about what foods will give you energy and not create more weight for you. Pizza and fast food is not on this list. You just need to make lifestyle changes if you want to lose weight and be healthier. It is going to take great discipline but you can do it!

What helps me lose weight is to eat more healthy ( limit 'bad' carbs like sugar, white flour; eat more fruits and veggies ) - limit my calories to 1200, exercise 3-4 x per week, 20-30 mins of cardio or simple walking will do- anything to keep your body active.

Some tips from a Clinical Nutritionist: Dont do any diets that restrict any macronutrients, like carbs, protein or fat, because if you want to lose weight you have to remember that this is a lifestyle change, and you need a good balance of all three to stay healthy. If I were you I would try to focus on increasing your metabolism first. Here are a couple of ways of increasing your metabolism; 1) by building muscle, which you can do by lifting dumbells couple times a week, in addition to some cardio. Work out first thing in the morning, because this also boosts your metabloism and burns off calories you consume throughout the day. 2) Consuming some Caffeine before you work out has also been proven to burn body fat. 3) If you do decide to drink caffeine, I would recommend natural Green Tea leaves( you can get these in some oriental stores, boil and drink instead of coffee) which is a great metabolism booster and has natural antioxidants too! 4) spicy foods also increase ur metabolism. Hope these small steps help.

You need to track what you are eating, and only then can you see what the cause is. I have a similar problem, and went to weight watchers and lost 90 lbs. It took a year, but i really learned that my unconscious eating packed the pounds on, not what I ate at meals. I am 5 5" and weighed 281, so have hope!! I weigh190 now and still want to lose another 50 lbs, but I can achieve it and so can you.

That can be the toughest thing in life to do. There are so many things from stomach stapling, to trying all different kinds of diets and exercise programs. First, I suggest you consult your doctor, who might be able to make the best determination for what's best for you. Most important, though, is please don't give up on your goals.

You have a serious problem that can possibly be related to your Thyroid. Get it checked out. If you're just lazy, you need ot start exercising. Change your eating habits. No more fast food for you. Only eat what's good. I know that's easier said than done, but I've had to lose weight before. It's a battle between your mind and your body. My mind won. Your body is winning, but you can do it if you are strong enough.

Stop drinking Soda and cut way down on the sugar!! Try to exercise at least half hour every day (even if it's just going for a walk). It's not the number of calories that you consume but the type of calories that affect weight gain or loss. Try to eat whole foods such as Whole grain bread, tuna, fruit and vegetables. Avoid fast food and heavily processed food that come from a box or a can or a bag (ie. potato chips). Don't give up!! begin a regular workout plan and healthy diet habits and stick to them. It's going to take time and you won't see results right away but stick with it and you will succeed.
