If you feel concerned about your weight, talk to your doctor. They have all kinds of charts that suggest an average, and lots of information on potential diets if you do need to lose weight. If you aren't comfortable talking about it to a stranger, your parents may be willing to do so on your behalf.

Well i am guessing by the way you worded your question you are a female. And if so I would say no,,depending on your height I would say you are just right and at the age of thirteen you are just starting your puberty years and you will feel alot of things. Just keep up the good work stay on a healthy diet and you will be fine.

Sweetheart you are only 13 years old. Have you disgusted this with your parents? How tall are you?
What you should do is incorporate after school activities into your day, watch what you eat, and find some friends who may have the same concerns as you. Never do any walking alone, get a group of friends and take walks, the safest place could be the mall, not only will you enjoy window shopping, you'll loose calories. Your body still has a lot of growing to do, so don't be in such a big hurry to slow things down, if you feel uncomfortable after a meal, than pay close attention to what you are eating, you don't need to diet, you just need to watch what you eat, then try to burn off your calories, don't eat heavy meals during the late evenings, try to eat fruit instead of sweets, if you really want something sweet suck on a Tootsie roll pop, it's not packed with sugar in you get a chewy treat on the inside. Buy yourself a jump rope, than you and your friends can jump together, get some skates, or play ball, try volley ball. If you can't talk to your parents about your concerns talk to your principle or a counselor, ask him or her to help you, I'm sure if you ask, someone will be willing to help.

You didn't mention your height. That would make or break it. But at 13 your body is still changing so as long as your not too extreeme 1 way or the other and feel good you should be fine.
There are many different body types. If you took 2 guys that were the same height and weight in high school and had them both eat the same stuff and excersize for 1 year they would look different in the end. Some prople can get bulky muscles while others can work twice as hard and just get toned is all.
As long as your doctor says your healthy and you are trying to be that way that is all that should matter. And on a side note several centuries ago being fat was seen as a sign of prosper...it meant you could afford enough to eat!!

At 5 ft 4", you are about average for girls your age. It also depends on whether you have a high metabolism (like I do).
If you exercise at all- walking, biking, swimming, even swinging a golf club at the driving range!- keep it up, your bones will thank you later.
Don't listen to anyone who teases you about your weight. In that age group- you're all going through growth spurts, raging hormones, skin problems, and "image" issues.
Try to east as healthy as you can...lots of milk, water, natural jucies- your skin & teeth will thank you for that!- fruits, veggies, not too many fried foods, pretzels over potato chips, and if you crave salted Popcorn- "Mrs. Dash" is a great no-salt herb mix that tastes like it has salt but it doesn't!
Concentrate on the things you're good at- let some natural Talent 'shine through'!- it could be anything from knowing all the Constellations to music, painting or even volunteering to reading books for the little ones at your local Library!
p.s.
I am 5' 6", and the Most I've ever weighed is where you are at now (plus i'm in my late 30's). Your boobs will catch up w/ ya sooner or later.

It depends on how tall you are, what your muscle mass is, and also what your bone structure is. If you are tall then 120 pounds isn't heavy...the same goes for lots of muscle mass or big bones. If your middle is larger around than your chest then you may want to increase your activity level and decrease your McDonalds intake.

I think you are fine. Don't let numbers worry you if you look nice in your clothes that's a great indicator.
If you want to lose some weight I have a healthy eating plan that really works. You need to do this it is for life so you need to totally change your way of eating and exercising. This is not a diet rather than a healthy eating plan for life. So no more talking diet cause it means time limit.
Here are the golden rules:
Initially cut down to 1200 calories.
Exercise 6 times per week for 1 hours a day. Do three weight sessions and three cardio sessions.
Don't eat carbs after 4pm, never eat carbs within 2 hours of exercise or within 1 hour of exercise.
Drink 3 litres of water per day. You can have a Green Tea at the end of the day.
Limit your fruit in take to 2 pieces per day.
Never eat dinner after 6pm.
Adopt of low GI eating plan this is sustainable for life!
Make low fat dairy choices
Follow this menu plan as a suggestion:
Breakfast 7am - 1 cup hot water w lemon
20 minutes later have a bowel of oats w water (no honey) OR
fruit salad w low GI Soy yogurt
Snack 10am - pear or apple (both low GI)
Lunch 12.30pm - muligrain sandwich w 50g tuna & salad (no butter)
Snack 3pm - low GI yogurt OR skim berry smoothie (no honey or banana) plenty of ice, 1/2 cup skim milk & 1/4 cup yogurt
Dinner 5.30pm - 120g grilled lean meat/fish/prawns/tofu patties (not fried) w spinach salad & mixed vegies (no whites, carbs) OR 3 egg white/Soy omlette with ham, cheese and tomato
Snack - 1 scoop of low cal low fat ice cream (if hungry)
Exercise is must be intense. Refer to www.bodybuilding.com for your weights routine. You can do a circuit class but this counts as one weights session. Never do weights two consecutive days have a cardio day in between.
Cardio needs to include running, boxing and spin. If your classes are less than 1 hour top it up with cardio before and after classes. You get the most benefits from exercise when your body is totally fatigued and this is when you see changes.
To maintain you can increase calories to 1500 and reduce exercise sessions to 3-4 times per week. If weight creeps up again due to holiday period etc.. go back to 1200 cal and 6 sessions again.
Good luck it worked for me it can work for anyone.

I'm 13. Same-ish height. Dunno lbs but 47 kg. (also flatish on d booby part- lol) Anyways, ur not fat. but don't get into junk food habits. That bring consequences. If u wanna lose weight anyways, like on d stomach, do 20 pushups, morning and night. don't do crazy diet schemes. just control what you eat. helps flatten abs. i do it. it works. and ask ur ma wat BMR is or might;v learned it at schools. if u have a fast-burn BMR, u'll stay thin, but if u have a slow-burn BMR, u'll need Ta excersize. i dunno mine but i'm doing fine...u can email me if u want to. just ask your mom first. =))

Don't worry! You are 13 years old, and still developing.
Don't take any notice of other people. We live in a culture in which everyone is obsesssed with the way they look. The most important thing is how you FEEL.
You sound great to me (and I love your user name!!)

You don't need anyones opinion. 120 is fine for all heights. I have never seen anyone that is 120 pounds and that was fat. So your okay. Stop worrying about your weight. I know it's hard because everywhere you look there are girls looking like barbie dolls. But you are only 13, when you get older you will have enough time to obsess over how you look.

I'm 5'4 and i weigh way more then you (around 160 or so) and i don't look like it at all. So I'm CERTAIN that 120 isn't fat at all. If you were 4'11 and 120 then there would be an issue but you're not. And seeing that you're only 13 don't stress yourself! (I'm 20 by the way so I am finished growing ha ha =p! :)!
You're just beginning to grow. For All you know you'll jump up another 4 or 5 inches by the time your 18 (the age doctors say we stop growing)5'6- and up @120 is MODEL MATERIAL GIRL!!! lol. You don't want to stress dieting while you're still growing. Let nature take its course. If you're 15 or 16 and you don't like the way you look then go head and diet. But right now is too soon. Your body needs time to change.
