How to gain weight as a vegetarian?
I'm about 48kg and I'm like 5'7 tall.

I do eat eggs and drink milk but I do not eat any kind of meat.

What can I do to gain weight? Any plans? How long will it take for me to be in like 50 - 55kg?

You do not have to eat meat to gain weight. Maybe eat more calories, protein shakes, power bars, ext. High protein stuff and carbohydrates but above all stay healthy and consult your doctor.

Eat Boca stuff. There's a lot of protein and grease. Plus, it tastes good so you'll eat a lot. The chicken tenders are the best. :] It's basically tofu made to taste like meat.

its hard because you are suppposed to be eating meat as a human

you are denying your body something that it needs and human have eaten for millions of years. just eat some good chicken or fish.

cleanest way to gain it is with condince milk and sweet condinced milk and evaporated milk . it has a diffrent flavor but to be it is delicious . i dont gain weight and i eat anything that died to reach the top of my grocery list .

Well I suppose you do want to get bigger in a healthy way..... Avocado has lot of fats in it put it in you salad with some egg. Nuts have fats in it too. Eat more times a day but don't go on the sugar and whipped cream diet you will regret it and will just grow a belly your skin will go bad and so on. Maybe you could also try to go to a person who can make you a diet Plan (don't know what they are called in English we say dietiste....) They can help you make a healthy plan. And search the internet. Good luck

Eat the stuff that people who go on diets can't eat..for example..chocolate, sweets and carbs.

EAT! Eat like fatty stuff, doughnuts, ice cream etc. etc, the only way this won't work is if you have a fast metabolism

anyway....get some Whey protein powder and mix it with milk. Drink it. Work out. Gain weight. : )

Take some peanut butter and put it in a bowl. Mix it with jelly, and a egg.

Make sure its just right for how many sandwichs you can eat.

Eat one Daily and you should gain weight and in a healthy way too, since peanut butter and eggs are full with protein.

increase your calorie and protien intake - shakes, bars, etc... and work out with medium weights. it is the healthiest way to put on a few kg.

my friend is 16 ans HE HAS THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM
he weighs 110 AND HES 16.
HES A STICK
He now takes iron pills ( cuz his doc. told him vegetarians dnt get enough iron) and takes Muscletech Nitrotech Hardcore to build lean muscle. He is now 15 pound heavier with pure muscle.

i'd go heavy on the grains, pasta, and healthy bread. you can also make lots of tasty creamy desserts from Soy. just don't limit yourself, and you'll put on pounds in no time!

I don't know, but I think I should become a vegetarian!

Seriously, make sure the milk you drink is whole milk, not skimmed.

If you are serious about gaining weight you could try the milkshake I made for my husband after he had been ill to help him gain the weight he had lost.

I used a glass of whole milk, a big dollop of ice-cream, a spoonful or two of Horlicks (or Milo or Ovaltine) powder, some milk powder or spoonful of condensed milk. Whip that in the blender and enjoy - you will soon gain weight!

well if your like me you just have a really fast metabolism and you cant really put on weight so i suggest you keep away from any caffeinated products because that will only help boost your metabolism.
make sure to eat pleanty of tofu, probably wont make you gain weight but you need it for protein. bread makes most people gain weight . Remember you want to gain weight the healthy way so dont load up on sweets and cakes unless you desperately want to gain weight but i dont suggest it. I suggest protein shakes, plenty of good fat like omega 3.
Spagetti, pasta etc= A sure fire way to gain weight. Remember to use a vegetarian sauce. You can also get tofu dogs (tofu hot dogs) tofu burgers, vegetarian pizza etc.

gaining weight the healthy way*

nuts
pasta/spagetti
tofu (its good for you probly wont make you gain weight)
protein shake
eggs are good too
whole grains are good for you
so is brown rice

probly more but cant think of any more right now

You gain weight as a vegetarian the same way you gain weight as a carnivore; take more calories in than you put out.
If your metabolism is high, making it hard for you to gain weight, add some supplemental shakes to your diet. Some good ones would be ensure and even slimfast. There is over 300 calories in one can of slimfast. It helps people lose weight because they use it the meal, however, if you use it along with your regular meals it will give you those extra calories and proteins you need. Don't do anything silly like indulge in fatty, high caloric, or junk food as this will spike your bad cholesterol, and sugar levels.
