How much weight should I lose?

Okay, stop. You do not need to loose any weight at all. You are actually underweight, and so are the girls you hang out with. I suggest GAINING 10-20 lbs.

You shouldn't be too concern about your body. 5'3 and 95 pounds is still in the normal range. You are still young and your body is still going through a lot of changes.

A lot of girls feel fat when in fact, they may not be fat.

Don't worry abou the skinny girls in Abecrombie. You are just in that stage but you have nothing to be worry about.

You are NOT fat.........nothing close to it. If anything, do some sit ups. You do not need to go on a diet or anything of that sort. Just do sit ups if your worried about your belly.

you go by your Height, and if your big boned or not, I think you need do what you feel is good for you, wearing the right size clothes is a must, the smaller the clothes the fatter you feel, Love yourself! It sounds like you should not try to lose weight but try doing sit-ups, crunches, or some type of exercise that works the abdominal muscles. I would also suggest that you search the internet for exercises you can do that will get you the abdomen that you wish in a safe way, but since you are so young you should talk this over with your parent/guardian and family doctor.

don't worryithink ur friends are the ones wit the problems cuz their r some girls that throw up thiere foods on prposde and some girls die like my friend she was soo body concernd and i told her she looked tooo skinny and every day i asked her wat she had for breakfast and lunch and she s aid she had somthing but she waz lieing and when gym came she just colapzed on the floor and i never saw her again and when the mornin anoucement came on for school they annoyuced that she died of starving her self ...that happend to me too it waz a hot summer and i thought i waz too fat and i starved my self then me and my parents went to the gym then i fainted right their then they took me to da hospital then i realized im not dead like my friend waz and im luky and also look at some of da modles thats y dey takin off all the skinny modles ....p.s. dis a true story and my friend's name waz jesica b.sooooo plez don't make da mistake i made caz u will regret it!and im 12 too

It is not your outer self that you need to work on the most, but your inner perception of who and what you are and how you look from your own viewpoint. The popular girls are most likely looking at you and saying the same things about you as you are saying about them. Trust me, I have been there done that and later found out that this is true. You are fine at your weight, in fact you would be too thin with any more loss. You need to have at least a 10% body fat weight to have normal periods and healthy organs no matter what you think you look like outside. Later on you will wonder what the heck you were worried about Abercrombie or other girls for in the first place. 12 is a difficult age to be at - you want to be popular, pretty, perfect, and smart all rolled into one when this is your most awkward stage in life. Your hormones are kicking in full time and you will be going through some growth spurts soon - without any meat on your bones, you could do major damage to those bones and also your organs. Be the best YOU you can be, and don't worry about the other girls. Life is not a competition except with yourself. Why not use your energy on positive things, like volunteering for a cool project that helps others? If you pick an energetic one, your round stomach will grow much stronger (which by the way can be round because of being too thin or eating unhealthy - have you not noticed the photos of starving people? They have protruded bellies more often than not, until they are so starved that there is nothing left to protrude. That is NOT due to fat - rather it is due to the muscles in that area becoming weakened and not being able to support the organs). Be smarter than the others and think of your health instead of being able to fit in clothes designed for starving models (some of which have DIED in an effort to keep that unnatural thin look). Find an energetic activity to strengthen your muscles while eating healthy, and I (and the others here) would guarantee you will have an excellent stomach to show off in the summer if that is what you truly want. You will also improve your self-esteem, which is in want of help. Oh - I am 53, was not perfect, pretty, or the most popular girl at your age and I was a bit awkward to boot, and now all I hear from people is how smart, popular, pretty, etc I am even though I am no longer worried about such things. The pretty and popular girls I was friends with or wanted to be like now look about 20 years older than I do and they are no longer so popular or pretty because of the abuse they did to their bodies through dieting and lots of tanning (which I did not bother with). Kind of ironic! Best wishes, and wait a few years - see who is the prettier one then. You will probably be a knockout at 16 or 17!
Oh - my daughter was a size 16 and short at 12 years old and she had a few growth spurts during her teen years - now she is 5 5 and about 120 - and is happily married with a toddler and wears a size 6 and looks fabulous! She did her turn around not by starving herself in an effort to lose weight, but instead by joining a youth group that helped build houses for poor people and she also joined the track team - and became a person who loves to do walk/runs for charity events and health purposes. It does happen all the time - the changes within you if you begin to do positive healthy things, wait and see.

This is the problem with being "popular"

Presure to look good.

Just do sit ups or crunches. It will help u tone that area out and ur abs will be nice and tight!

do like a little bit more every day.

Start by doing as many as u can untill u fail. Then rest and do it again, untill u fail. The next day, ur abs will feel sore, and it might be like that for a few days. Once it feels better, start again and every other day add 10 more reps.

For example, Do 20-30 to start. and do 2 sets of it.

Dont go on a diet! You are still growing!

You are underweight, so I wouldn't recommend trying to lose any weight. First of all, be yourself. Don't try to be like everyone else. While this is probably hard for you to hear now, when you are older you will understand the value of this. Also, you should talk to your parents, a teacher, or better yet, a psychologist about this. You might have a body image disorder and be at risk for an eating disorder.

I'm 13, same height, and weigh 3 pounds more than you do. Neither of us need to lose- I feel I need to tone. My stomach is a little bulgey- I just need to get muscle to replace the fat there. Muscle weighs MORE than fat- so I'll look skinnier, but the scale will say i gained. Pick me for best answer!! I know where your coming from!!! I have a round stomach, too.

First of all your 12, so you have many years ahead to grow. But getting out everyday and running or being active with a sport helps. Sit-ups and push-ups are good ways of getting fit...not skinny. Getting fit means you feel good about your body and soul. Your soul being most important. Emphasize your soul not your body because everyone is different in body types.
Being skinny has the world in anorexia, being fit has everyone that does feeling accomplished and well-driven.

despite being a little young to worry about that, you could try exercising a bit. running around would help alot also try watching the calories of what you eat. if it exceeds 2000 or more in a day then its too much but dont think that eating less is good either. if you eat too little your body would try to hold every little thing you eat. so thats why it would be best to try to aim around that number. try this site it might help www.calorie-count.com

You're too thin now. You're 12 years old and at your weight, you should NOT be thinking of dieting! You will NATURALLY go through times when you're a little bulkier, and don't grow in height...and then suddenly, you'll shoot up and be thin again. Please don't diet! You absolutely, without a doubt, do NOT need to lose a pound! You should actually weigh about 15 lbs more than you do!

If you want a flatter stomach, you need to do some basic toning. Talk to your gym teacher. He or she should be able to teach you some exercises to tone your abdominal muscles.

You do not need to be comparing yourself to other people. Focus on learning and growing as a person and you'll quickly realize that what other people wear or what size they are is not important. Being a smart, healthy, good person IS important, and that's what you are!

Hang in there, these are confusing times at your age but I promise you'll be through it faster than you know. Then you'll be my age (38) and looking back asking where all the time went! :-)

First of all, never weigh yourself, instead, use a mirror and your current clothes to judge your body. Because muscle weighs more than fat, going strickly by weight can get you into a lot of trouble.

All you need to do are three things, but they will take a TON of discipline, but you will see results in as little as two weeks - in not only how you look, but how you feel.

1) Cut High Fructose Corn Syrup out of your diet (this means all soft drinks and "fake" fruit juices)

2) Cut out partially hydrogenated oil (shortening) out of your diet. This includes 96% of all pre-packaged foods and all fast food.

3) Exercise (Cardio) for 20 minutes everyday.

Just a word of warning, this is really hard, but the payoff on how you look and feel will be worth the effort. Plus, it will probably add 10-12 years onto your life. :-)

I dont think the answer here is to lose more weight and no I am not going to preach to you that it is bad so on and so forth, Seriously the only way to get a flat stomach is to do sit ups and crunches. Try doing 25 to 30 each night and work up from there, you should start seeing results in about 2 weeks, on the other hand though, if you try to lose more weight you are not going to be guaranteed to lose it in your stomach it is the bad part about all of this, you cant choose where it is going to come off. the only thing to do to get flat abs, non-flabby arms and such things is toning. it will make you lose a couple pounds but doing that, you are guaranteed to get the results you want
