I do not think that sugar is good for your health. A small amount may be tolerated, but not necessarily good for you.

NONE, if you're talking about processed or refined sugar.
For natural sugar, just look at the back of most foods, where the nutrition information is.
Even though this estimate is based on the average 2000 calorie diet, you can do the math and substitute your own calorie intake for the 2000 calories.
Generally, you should get your daily sugar intake from a few servings of fruits and dairy foods.

There is nothing healthy about sugar, unless you are Type I Diabetic, and then would use it to raise a dangerous low.

None. Like salt, you would get enough sugar in the foods you eat even if you ate nothing but vegan meals. Sugar is unnecessary to human existence (I say this while munching on a Mrs. Fields' cookie).

You should eliminate sugar in your diet. But if you really like it, you have to use unrefined sugar like brown sugar. Too much sugar is not good to you and your health. Sweet foods can give you a disease like diabetes. To watch sugar in your diet, you have to limit your sugar cravings. Eating pastries, chocolates, and drinking softdrinks is not good to you!

Zero. NO sugar is needed by the human body. Until a couple hundred years ago, there was none in the human diet. Blame today's epidemic of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and maybe even cancer on the over 120 lbs of sugar that the average American eats each year.

Yikes!

No amount of white sugar is good for you. Natural sugar or honey is okay if you have a little and not too much.

Refined sugar is an addictive and destructive POISON. You should get all your sugar needs from natural sources, NO refined sugar.
(Oh important note: Brown sugar is NOT "unrefined" sugar. It is white refined sugar with molasses (sugar syrup) added to it! It is just as deadly and poisonous as any "white" sugar!!!)

I recommend that you try to find a copy of William Dufty's famous book "Sugar Blues," here's a taste of what he says:

THE SHOCKER THAT CURED MILLIONS OF THE "SUGAR BLUES" WILL IT CURE YOU TOO?

It's a prime ingredient in countless substances that we eat and drink, from cereal to soup, from cola to coffee. Consumed at the rate of one hundred pounds for every American every year, it's as addictive as Nicotine or heroin -- and as poisonous, responsible for modern plagues ranging from depression to coronary thrombosis. It's sugar. And SUGAR BLUES, inspired by the crusade of Hollywood legend Gloria Swanson, is the classic best selling expose that unmasks our generation greatest medical killer -- yet, at the same time, shows how a revitalizing, sugar-free diet can not only change your life, but quite possibly save it.

"A relentless, hard-hitting report. You are unlikely ever to feel quite the same about sugar." --Chicago Tribune

"One of the most revealing, instructive, and helpful books ever written." --Let's Live magazine

i used to consume 'mass quantities' of sugar every day. then my doctor diagnosed me with a full blown case of type-II diabetes.

whoa! thanks a lot, Little Debbie!

now, i try not to eat any refined sugars. the days of the half a box of Little Debbie's for lunch are over. and i can't remember the last time i had a candybar. i used to spend DOLLARS in the vending machine at work on my chocolate and RASPBERRY ZINGER fix.

gosh, i can't even imagine eating a raspberry zinger now, much less a pack of three.

stay away from sugar. its bad. diabetes is bad. injecting yourself with insulin every nite is bad. pricking a hole in your finger every morning to get blood to test your blood sugar is bad.

change your eating habits before Little Debbie recruits another sugar zombie to the ranks of full fledged Type II Diabetic.
