my cousin is on the south beach diet and it sux u cant any sugar that means no fruit or sweet vegetables (like carrots)at all. she cant any kind of bread.they eat weird meals like a turkey sandwich but instead of bread she uses lettuce.if u want u could try that.but dont try diet pills cuz if u do once ur off them u gain all the weight back

Okay,here's what you do!Don't starve your self!BAD!!Just take walks EVERYDAY!If you have a Wii,you should get the Wii Fit game!It really helps you loose weight!I play it all the time,but I'm underweight,so I'm trying to gain muscle!Sorry,getting off track!You walk everyday,go to the park with friends,take a pet for a walk!Do some jogging!Also,everyday do about like 10 push-ups and curl ups until you build up strength!Eat veggies,fruits,stuff like that!DON'T EAT ANY CANDY!!!!!!!!Have ONE sweet a day,but no candy!Hope it helps!

Buy a workout DVD, do it every second day & be really careful about what you eat. Cut out the junk & don't eat unless you're hungry. If you feel like a snack eat some fruit. Try going shopping with your mum & asking if you can try new fruit & veg & healthy foods. You know instead of white bread pick the brown kind with seeds. For breakfast try porridge with honey to sweeten it (I add sunshine mix too..yummy). I find if I eat toast or something I'll be hungry before lunch whereas porridge keeps me full. Good luck ;)

Eat healthy and exercise.

Lifting weights and sports are a great form of exercise (you will not look like you are on steroids by merely lifting weights). Your gym teacher can help you out in that department. Also consider taking up a martial art if conventional sports aren't for you. START HERE

Then while you are feeling good about getting active and in shape, learn about what a reasonably healthy diet consists of AND APPLY IT ASAP.

Beware, you may offend your family by taking this initiative. Especially if they are obese as well... But then again, you may inspire them.

Since you will be exercising and are still growing you need to thoroughly research what your caloric intake needs are. Once you do that, divide your caloric needs into five meals a day if possible.

After you've done that, then you apply the zig-zag method. In which you eat your required caloric intake for say 3 days, then cut back for two days by 500 calories daily. Doing such keeps your metabolism from adapting to a steady diet and level of activity.

You CAN do it! Just remind yourself how good you are going to feel in a year because you applied yourself diligently and whole-heartedly.

Stretch your muscles out a lot, by doing butterfly stretches, cat stretches, and stretching out your legs, (like you probably do in gym) before you exercize. To lose stomach weight, do about 50 crunches (sit ups) each day. For shedding thigh weight, lie on your side and as slowly as you can, lift your whole leg straight up until it's high above you, then slowly bring it back down. (If you've ever seen Oliver & Co., the prissy poodle does it in the movie.) Do ten of those on each side every day for a few months, and I think you'll see results. (You'll definitely feel the burn. =) ) For arm fitness, 20 push ups a day is good.

Small things like dancing, doing jumping jacks, and taking walks daily can help, too. (Walking with your dog, if you have one, is even better.)
A healthy diet is important, too. Talk to a nutritionist about the kind of foods you should be eating. Vegetables and fruits are really good for you. anda universal eating tip is that it's not good if you have too much "white on your plate", like breads and meats. You should have lots of variety.)

Hey my cousin was like you. He was fat but because he grew taller in 3 years, it seemed as he lost weight. Your still growing, so just try to stop gaining as much weight as possible. The amount you want to lose may go down as you grow taller. Im not a professional at food dieting, but I would just advise you to eat food you find healthy. Eat recipee dishes your parents make you. Peas, vegetables, fruits, all other healthy foods. Avoid fast food resaurants like McDonalds KFC Wendys. Avoid snack foods like Goldfish, Doritos, Cheese Its. As for excercise, running is the best way to lose weight. Set a resonable distance you want to run, and run that entire distance. If you hate running, play alot of sports like basketball soccer football. Go to local rec center or YMCA all the time. Best way is to get on a sports team. Your not an old 40 year old coach potato or anything. Your still young and have alot of energy because of your youth, so I would just play sports all the time as opposed to getting a Bowflex or a Treadmill like they tell you in commercials. well first of all stop drinking cokes and eating cany not good for start to take a walk in the morning time for about a hour at your own pace do this every day start to drink water instead of drinking a soda it will do your body some good i use to weigh in at 360 3 years ago now iam 190 due to not drinking sodas and eating fast food all the time in just got up one moring i was so tried of looking at the fat person in the mirror every day in being in a sixe 46 jeans in wearing a shirt size of a 5x in for get jaerd the one on the subway commerical cause it dont cost money to lose weight ever just take your walks stay away from fast food in candy n soda in no time you will see the change if you dont like walking get your self a bike it will make you lose weight to hope this helped you out n hagd :)

I hope you mean 140 pounds, and not 40 pounds... Toddlers weigh 40 pounds.
The only healthy way to lose weight is to diet and exercise.
Try in-taking calories only from food, because it's really easy to overdo it when you "drink" your calories through fruit drinks, sodas, etc.
Eat low-fat dairy; lean grilled, baked or boiled meats like white-meat chicken or turkey; drink plenty of water; weigh your fruits, and eat plenty of raw vegetables.
Exercise every day. Running/jogging/power walking/swimming/playing tennis are all great ways to lose weight because they use so many of your muscles, and keep your heart-rate up.

Well, start off slow. The only way, scientifically speaking, to lose weight, is to eat 200 to 400 calories less than your BMR. It can be calculated by Googling BMR and using a BMR calculator. Take that number, subtract I'd say 200 at first and just eat that number of calories. Watch the fat intake, but mainly WHAT KIND of fat. Stick to mono and poly unsaturated fats. Stay away from trans and saturated fats. Eat lots of whole wheats and grains and definitely lots of fiber. You'll have a little diahreea but thats a good thing, you body has been needing fiber thats why. NO candy, junk food, ice cream/donut type of things, no empty calories (energy drinks, unless they are 0 calories), I HIGHLY recomend lots of veggies. They fill you up but add a trvial amount of calories.Keep some peanut butter (reduced fat/calorie) and Celery to munch on. eat lots of protein. It will stop you from feeling crappy from a lack of calories. Stick to fish and chicken. Fish is best though. Take multivitamins, this is very important. The B vitamins will help a lot and so will the vitamin C. Once you are used to taking 200 calories off, take off another 100 hundred, making it 300 calories total off your BMR.Do this for a good 2 weeks. Get your bodies metabolism going. Then start going for a walk; 30-45 minutes a day. Less if you cant do that much. The key is starting off slow, because people tend to go all out the first week, get negative results and then go back to eating poorly. Walk 30-45 minutes a day and cut 300 calories from your diet for a whole month, no cheating :) Being that your about 40-60 lbs. overweight, you will lose about 10-15 lbs. that first month. You will feel SO MUCH better and want to do a lot more with your life. I need to take my own advice.

go walking or running with a friend or not for like 30-40min in the morning or night whatevers suitable .
get some excersize tapes
sweat a lot by excersizing
maybe go to a gym with someone older..
eat less rice and carbohydrates.

Hey im also your age. what i do is drink 1.5litres of water a day autimatically your appetite goes down..
So in the morning i skip breakfast and have 500ml of water then I'm fine and perhaps drink a little more and at two o'clock have a nice healthy lunch. When i say healthy i mean salad, scrambled eggs, brown bread (if you must have bread). Them i drink another 500 ml and at four o'clock have a piece of fruit! And finally at 7pm I drink a glass of water before i sit down to a healthy meal for supper. After 8pm I do NOT eat anything as it is the worst time of day to eat..
After 3 days of doing this you should start loosing around 1kg a day and so its a very fast and effective way ....
If you can not mannage this just cut out chocolate, sweets, bread, pasta, cheese and you should be fine...

work out at the gym at least 3 times a week.(elliptical,weights,treadmill,bike)
walk every night(5 km)

i would see if there are any trainors in your area. i go to speed and strenght training 4 days a week for 1.5 hours and have lost about 20 pounds this year. otherwise i would start a sport doing excersise works to. perhaps lunges, squats, running, ect..

Im trying to loose weight aswell. What i do is go out alot and do things like walking and bike riding. Also you will have to eat a lot of fruit and veg and anything that is healthy, and stay off junk food. What i also do to try and loose weight is put my ipod on and dance for about an hour each day. This is soo fun and it helps you to loose a lot of weight.

If you cut out all drinks and change to strictly water, that will drop pounds off in a month. Change snacks to apples (apples curb your appetite), fruit (stay away from sugary fruits) and nuts. Try eating slower during meals. It takes 10-15 minutes to feel full, so if you eat slower (hard at first, but then you enjoy the meal more) you will find that you don't need as much at each meal. Do not eat anything 3 hrs before bed time. Try popcorn for an after dinner snack or jello. If you take these steps, and start incorporating some exercise (anything more active than your currently doing) you will see the pounds drop off! Good luck!

The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you eat. Try to eat low fat, low sugar foods, drink only water and eat small portions. Walking is good exercise to start-out with.

DO IT HEALTHY

cut your calories by about 150-200 per day, eat less fat and make sure you eat lots of veggies and lean protein. Remember, you do not want to loose muscle mass so make sure you eat the protein. If you are an active person already, try jogging 2-3 times per week. If not, start with walking. I started walking half a mile every other day and am now up to jogging 2 miles every other day.

no soda or candy and lots of cardio. go for walks or jogging. even five minutes a day helps.... its as simple as this... its math right you have to burn more calories then you eat per day, as a chick you need to have about 1300 calories per day. just drink water and go for walks I lost 35 lbs in 5 months

Start little. People are going to tell you to start some big plan... but those always fail because you can stick with them for a little while, but then it sucks too much and you go off it... turning everything back to where it was. So start little. Make little, sustained changes to really have meaningful change.
I used to weigh almost 200 lbs and now weigh 160. I was in a size 14... now a size 10. (And still going...) Here's what I did:

Start walking.
Get a pedometer and DO 10,000 steps a day. Start with 3,000. Then 5,000. Then 10,000. Take it slow, but DO IT.

You'll find that, when you walk, your stress will go away, you'll be more thoughtful, and, when you're hungry, you will want to eat healthier things. You just simply won't feel like filling your body with crap.

Try it. Take it slow, but DO IT.

Walk with a friend if you can. Walk by yourself if you prefer (I do). Either way... Walk.

Loosing weight is the easy part of any diet. Keeping it off is the tricky bit.

I suggest you 'change' your lifestyle in order to loose and maintain the weight and figure you want.

Firstly you need to work out how many calories you consume on any given day. To do this simply look on food packaging and keep a record of how much you eat. It should be at 2000 a day for women and 2500 for men.

To loose weight simply reduce your portion sizes by a third. But ensure you never consume less than 1500 calories. You also need to exercise. You should aim for 30 mins a day, five days a week. Soon you should see you are loosing weight.

After you have reached your desired weight/size, slowly begin to increase your portion sizes. But maintain your exercise regime.
