Any kind of activity for 30 min is good for your body and heart. Burning calories is the key and burning more calories then you take in is the only way to really lose weight. I'm in Nursing school and I cant get to the gym but I still walk for about 40 mins a day and eat right. I've lost 9 lbs in a month. You don't really need a gym to lose weight just stay active, the gym is good for when you want to build muscle and tone. Good luck on your weight loss!!

My mom goes to the gym all the time. in the summer she goes walking alot.
She has lost over 45 pounds already. she likes walking. Also you can try hip hop abs. It is a dance session where Sean T.
teaches you kool dance moves. it is very fun. my mom dosent do hip hop abs, but i do. i lost 6 in. off my waste. i go walking with my mom in the spring and the summer. sometines in the fall. i do hip hop abs almost every day. at least 1 a week.
walking helps your blood pressure. it also helps your stress go away. you probally will lose some weight if you go walking every day.

Walking is GREAT!!!!
Here are some good ideas:
1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Beans, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, white potatoes, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.
4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)
5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee.
6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.
8. Avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.
9. Look into taking a multi-vitamin.
Tone up the muscles:
1. Join a gym and get a trainer.
2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen.
3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.
4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike
5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.
6. Join the local YMCA.
7. Buy or borrow this book by Bill Pearl called GETTING STRONGER.
In the book, he describes everything you need for a great fitness plan.
8. Crunches & Curl ups for the abs.
Mental Health:
1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings.
2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to.
3. Learn how to meditate.
4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with.
5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance.
6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings & thoughts.
7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night.
8. Do something that makes you happy each day like: listen to your favorite music, draw, paint, write, or anything creative.
9. Do something for someone else who needs help.
10. If the above suggestions don't improve your mental health, talk with your therapist about the possibility of taking some medication.
11. Check out the book FEELING GOOD by David Burns.

yeah but maybe instead of waking you could run to see faster results. you could also jump rope that is great exercise and it does not take as much time.

Walking is free and you don't need any special equipment either. I do a 2 mile was about 3 or 4 times each week. It does not make me extra fit, but it stops me getting too flabby and it will do the same for you.
You can of course walk further if you wish, but two miles is quite enough.
Did you know that the average person out shopping is actually burning up over 400 calories per hour? It's all those shopping bags full of goods, you see.
So, next time you go to your local shopping mall and wonder why the place is full with pensioners like me in the winter, you'll know why. We're getting a free warm, plus we're doing out daily exercise etc.

Yes...you can lose weight without having to go to the gym. Walking is a very good way to lose weight. You can get a pedometer and try to do 10,000 steps per day to lose weight. So put on your walking shoes...and start steppin'.

It has to be brisk/fast walking though.. not jogging, but neither the 'window-shopping' walk. Just fast-paced walking!
In fact, and if you continue to do it also as a habit, walking is one of the best exercises that you can get for your body.
But, yeah, you can surely do it as a help to loosing weight - provided you're on a diet too, or at least on the watch of what you're eating!

if you do it every day, and try to walk briskly, it will definitely help you to burn calories and get fitter.
why not try jogging/running? just walk for 5mins then run for 1 or 2 mins, to start with. gradually build up the amount of time you run for and decrease the amount of time you walk for - you'll be running all the way in a while

No, you don't need to go to a gym to get good exercise. Walking is great because it's free and everyone can do it! Try starting with just 15 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week, and eventually working up to an hour per day. But don't just stroll; you should be able to talk but not sing. If you can't do one hour all at once, break it up into shorter segments; 20 minutes 3 times per day, etc.

definatly, walking burns off a lot of calories more than a jog on the treadmill. its a good way for loosing weight thats what i am doing at the moment. Try at a slightly fast pace and it will work a treat. hope this helped x
