It's rude for anyone (fat or skinny) to comment on anyone else's eating choices, whatever the other person's weight. The only possible exception is if they have a close enough relationship (parent/child, spouses, or so on) where one has a reason to be legitimately concerned with the other's health.

well, maybe if they want to help them it's ok.
if it is said in scruitiny then it's not ok.
i don't really like to see my mum eat junk at 10pm. she's been trying to lose weight longer than me, so should i just sit by and let her eat that junk? it's not good to eat unhealthy especially when you have almost reached that milestone in age (aka. 50). and i just started dieting and i'm losing weight already so i really want her to adopt my methods. i no longer make rude comments but i do throw a tip or two her way.

This is another form of racism or discrimination, kind of like a black person using the N word but a white person cannot. I think a skinny person is not allowed to make fat comments but fat people can.

Maybe they think they are helping you by telling you how to eat. They don't want you to be fat too.

no remarks towards someones body in a negative way should be said, but im thinking an overweight person knows they didnt get that way from not liking to eat and i just think they dont want you to make the same mistake they have by eating and getting bigger and bigger. like smoking its a drug and hard to quit and i have seen people say please dont smoke they know its hard to break the habit and they will try to warn you its not good so dont start

No-one should criticise other people, regardless of their own weight. It's just rude. Maybe it'd be ok if you'd asked for advice or were saying you were trying to lose weight. But no, not out of the blue.

I know it seems ironic but some people that are overweight have Thyroid problems and can be healthy eaters. I don't think it matters if your skinny or fat you should keep your mouth shut because its rude and none of your business in the first place.

I think if anyone can recognize bad eating habits, it would be someone that has them.
Skinny people have no right to criticize, they don't know.

Not really because then they are just been hypocritical themselves by criticising what someone else is eating, It all depends really, You have to remember some people have problems with their weight etc too so you shouldn't judge all the overweight people as the same.

Damn right they do... look at the size of them ... they have spent many hours a day getting into that kinda shape .. that is some kinda determination and passion for food ... they are fully entitled to criticise after all they are the eating experts.

I personally think it's wrong for anyone (regardless of weight) to make comment about eating habits unless it's in response to something obviously unhealthy (like anorexia or bulemia, or refusing to eat something that's not deep fried). And even still, it should be done in a respectful manner. If this person is someone you know and are close too, then just let them know that it makes you uncomfortable and you'd prefer not talking about eating habits. If it's someone you only met once, then just leave it, most likely you won't run into that person again.

I'm a little overweight and I get all kinds of terrible remarks for people who weigh less than myself.
Unless people are trying to be constructive I think people should just mind their own bussiness and not tear people down!
I'm done ranting now. lol :)

its pretty rude i think, especially if you're not real close to the person.
i get disgusted watching fat people eat. it reminds me of someone with lung cancer puffing down a marlboro.
fat people also like to give excercise advice. like how they don't mind telling me how bad running is on my knees...whatever. they dont really know what they're talking about they just like to be able to justify sitting our their butt when they should be active.
so don't worry about them...just let it roll off.
