see a nutritionist (maybe u could call one to your home), they could help in prescribing a diet.
also try a personal trainer, if u can afford one and u can otherwise move.
good luck!

Change your eating habits compleatly and start eating smaller portions, You can use machines, like stationary bike and the like couldnt you?
But the eating you can do without having to hurt....go on a program like jenny craig perhaps, or if you are confidant that you can do it on your own then you cut your meal portions down and that really is all you need. Its not the best as walking but..If you can't you can't...

Have you tried any form of pilates? Depending on your weight, even if you are extremely obese, it can realllllllllly help! A lot of it is done on the floor on a mat, as well, and you can buy DVDs to do it in the privacy of your own home. Yoga is good, very lowkey and very easy to get your blood flowing.
Otherwise, watch your diet! That's the best I can do.

yeah put down that turkey leg. go on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, then eat salads for 2 weeks, eat one bolony sandwich lunch and dinner with iced water each day for 2 weeks and with out trying the weight will fall off by that time to allow you to walk on a tread mill 5 min a day for a week having a glass of milk 2 times a day ,last meal broil chicken or fish not to large.you got to be focus,it did'nt get this way overnite. you're strong and yes it hurts ,but it's worth it you're being reborn ..pray to god every day for strength and you'll soon be able to do crunches and walks around the block. if you like what you see there's more you beautiful thing you.

How about an exercise bike, or maybe swimming?
Use crutches to get from home to exercise areas.

I would suggest getting a stationary bicycle. This will allow you to exercise while eliminating the stress from your feet.
Don't forget to eat right...lots of vegetables and lower fat & calorie intake will make a big difference.

FIrst things first..ignore everyone making fun of you...you have a medical condition this isn't your fault. You can't depend on what people say on the internet, I would go talk to a physician about what would work best for you, everyone is different. I feel really bad that you have to live with such a horrible disease, even worse that people are petty enough to make fun of you for it, my prayers go out to you Ann...God Bless!

I understand neuropathy. Do you have access to a pool to do water aerobics? You can also try different exercises in a chair, as long as you increase your heart rate.

Yes, in order to lose weight you could:
1-reduce calories intake (eat less)
2-increase physical activity: if you can't walk confortabily, JUST SWIM!!! This is an excellent excercise.

You can do resistance training which basically is the use of weights and machines, to see if that would be an effective way of overcoming the problem of doing routine exercise. Not only might such exercise improve cardiovascular risk factors such as blood pressure and cholesterol levels, but nondiabetic neuropathy and those with arthritis (I dopn't know if this condition applies to you) suggests that such exercise might also have a beneficial effect on pain symptoms, perhaps by relieving muscle spasm. In addition, if a resistance training program could reduce blood glucose as does aerobic exercise, it could improve glucose control and perhaps reverse the neuropathy to some degree. I hope you can feel well soon. Good Luck!
