Anything can make you thin, just as long as your calories used>calories taken.
But if you're talking about a peanut butter diet or something, I guess it could make you thin if you have ridiculously slow metabolism. However, too much peanut butter= bad (Cholesterol and Fats), so don't consume in excess!
Hope this helped :D

Only if you eat a little of it, instead of a lot of other things. Peanut butter has a high percentage of fat. So, if you are concerned about overweight, go easy on the peanut butter and eat your veggies.

Actually, peanut butter DOES have some appetite suppressing qualities. I've heard a couple reports on how it can keep you from craving too much later.
I like to take a teaspoon, get a small ball of peanut butter on it, and savor it. Make it last as long as you can. After you're done, you shouldn't even feel like getting more peanut butter, and you shouldn't have cravings for things like chocolate and ice cream. And just a small teaspoon isn't very fattening or calorie-packed, either.
It really works for me! I'd definitely advise you to try it. Especially if you have a sweet tooth like I do.

Clare,
maybe if you don't eat too much? also, you should find a peanut butter that doesn't have those hydrogenated oils in it? That's the bad stuff. The big guys PeterP and Jiff all have that hydro stuff?

Peanut butter will not make you thin.
Conversely, it won't make you fat either as long as you consume all natural peanut butter (the kind with the peanut oil left in).
Processed peanut butters like Jif or Skippy have trans fats added to them via hydrogenated vegetable oils, the same crap fast foods cook their food in. As long as you get all natural peanut butter, (like Laura Scudder's or Smucker's naturals) you can use it as a very good source of protein and consequently a decent appetite suppressant.

no food "makes" you thin.
Consuming less of it and EXCERSING daily will do the job though. Burn more kilojoules than what you take in.

Peanut butter is high in protien and fat (but unsaturated so it's ok). It fills you up and can curb your appetite. Check out:

Don't overdue it, cause too much is no good either.

No. Peanut Butter is very plain and discusting when there is no sugar and syrup added to it. So they add ALOT of syrup and suger. Maybe organic or all natural peanut butter would be better for you?
