thats low ish. not low enough to kill you though. normal is like 150-200. you are probably going to end up a diabetic like your mom if she has type 1. my cousin has it and i studied VERY much about it. my cousin was born with it and shes like my best friend so i know everything about it. if you experience symptoms like urinating very frequently, then get checked right away.

Normal glucose levels fall between 70 and 150 mg

Levels typically are lower in the morning, and rise after meals. Blood sugar levels falling consistently above 150 are indicative of hyperglycemia, or high blood sugar. Chronic low levels, falling below 70, characterize hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar.

Normal, for a non-diabetic would be within the range 70-126 mg/dL, though at the higher end of the range you may be considered pre-diabetic. This would be a fasting plasma/blood glucose result ... after not having eaten from the previous night.

Yes, 74 is perfectly normal. If you feel low blood sugars again, then try eating some protein (peanut butter crackers) or something like that to keep your sugars at a normal level.

Good luck.

Your blood sugar is mostly relevant in the fasting state, which means 4-5 hours since you last took in calories, eating or drinking. Under 100 is normal for a non diabetic. If you are really worried about it, go to the doctor and ask for a hemoglobin A1C. This is the blood test that tests for diabetes. It is an average of the blood sugar over a period of months, instead of your current immediate blood sugar.
