no don't worry about. they're non toxic. i would wash it out as best you can. but don't worry.. she'll be fine! unless she's allergic to the chemicals in there.. but its not likely.. here's a blurb on how glosticks work and all the chemicals in there:
"Specifically, the chemical reaction works like this: The Hydrogen Peroxide oxidizes the phenyl oxalate ester, to form Phenol and an unstable peroxyacid ester. The unstable peroxyacid ester decomposes, resulting in Phenol and a cyclic peroxy compound. The cyclic peroxy compound decomposes to carbon dioxide. This decomposition reaction releases the energy that excites the dye."
...seems scary! so definitely wash her mouth out real good.. but i'm telling you they're non toxic. i've bit them in half several times... :]

If have the package, check to see if it says it's non toxic, or if you know the band I would look for the company online and see if it says anything about them being non toxic.
If nothing else call poison control.

The glow-sticks of today are supposed to be non-toxic(i.e.-safe for humans) and cause no problems in landfills. It's not really the stuff inside the stick that makes it glow that's the problem. It's the glass tube inside that is. As long as she didn't eat any of the glass, then she should be fine. By the way: Most glow-sticks these days use a thin walled acrylic tube to hold the reactive agents. However, there are still some companies that do use the glass tubes inside though. So check the stick and see which kind of inner-tube it is. If it's glass, then it would be a good idea to take the rest of the tube and your little sister to the hospital just to be safe.

Call a Poison Hot line, not a computer. If she will be sick, you will be too late by the time we all answer. Don't play with time when it could be a matter of life, death, or severe illness. Hope she is OK, Now go make that phone call.

Best to call the poison control. The liquid in a glow stick can be highly toxic.Even though today most aren't its still likely.

Calling poison control is a good idea. But usually those things are made with non-toxic contents. They make them this way for the very reason you wrote: Little children put things in their mouths.
