.Why would you want to take your braces off? Are you paranoid about them? if so why, in the long run you will have nice straight teeth and it will be worth it. Also if you have them off to early, your teeth will go back to how they were in the beginning.

Don't do it. My cousin tried and, and somehow he screwed up his mouth in the process so bad, that they had to break his jaw, sew his mouth closed, and eat through a tube for months.

No lie- you don't want this to happen right?

You can't really. They are cemented on your teeth ripping them off could remove enamal. And your gonna need that someday. It will be very painful trust me I have a friend who did that and she said it hurt and her mouth got infected. So I will ask you please to go to a dentist or orthodontist to get them removed. I don't think it is bad to get them taken off but I think it IS bad if you do it ourself.

Why would you even want to? Did someone force you to get them on? Has it gone on far too long. You should heed the advice of your yahoo friends and don't even try it. I have seen the consequences after someone has taken their braces off. First of all, you will damage some teeth and you will have cement on the facings of your teeth that will be more bothersome to your tongue than you can imagine. Then you will want to remove your tongue. Hope you stick it out!! No pun intended.

ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?! i mean why would you want to take your braces off yourself. Well i know no one wants braces but who would take it off themselves and risk getting their teeth cracked or glue/cement stuck on your teeth? You should go find your ortho or dentist to take them off

I don't believe you can, because your braces are cemented on your teeth. Unless you want a ton of pain and maybe infection, I recommend you go to the orthodontist. Good luck!!!

no you cant hun, sorry to say it but you cant as they are attached to your teeth by a cement sort of material and you need a certain abrasive to get it off. Like the others said go see the dentist if you are unhappy with them on. I would just like to say though i had braces when i was younger and im glad i did now as even though i hated them the whole time i had them at least now i have straight teeth as if i had grown up and they stayed crooked i would have regretted it more. Just think a little while longer and they will be taken off then you will have lovely teeth. take care un and go see a dentist if its really bothering you that much as he will take your feelings into consideration.

DONT DO IT!!!!

When I had braces I put a pair of plyers to them as they were really doing my head in, Made them ten times worse, bits started sticking out and cutting my cheeks and tongue, it was horrible! To compensate I decided to put tissues on these spikes to prevent the pain and then they started to stink, it just got worse!

After all this trauma I had to go back to the orthodontist who had to take them all off and then put them back on again and stick that putty stuff that chokes down my throat, and then tighten them up big time.

IT AINT WORTH IT DONT DO IT

You will have lovely teeth when you are older so just deal with it!

You better not do that. I had a friend who tried that and broke 3 teeth. They had to pull them and get dental implants. Very painful and expensive.

i had mine removed a few years ago, i was sick of going through the treatment. i went to a different orthodontist and asked her to remove them. $100 is all it cost, i would rather spend the money than risk losing my teeth!

you need to go back to the dentist - I had braces and thry have to "sand Down" the glue they use to fix the brace in the 1st place, If you do this yourself you will damage the tooth enamel

Awwww, i know what you mean, i used to have braces for a year and IT SUCKED!!!
I comtemplated many times that i'd go to the dentist and say i want them off NOW!.
But he said oh it'll only be another month.....I really think you should wait it out, SERIOUSLY just think how pretty your smile will be when they are PERFECT!
I can't thank my dentist enough for straightening mine, Yeh they made me upset for a year but it was definitely worth it for the rest of your life with a good smile!

Dont you like your teeth or something? I mean REALLY Hate them? so much that you'd want to pull them out yourself or something?! Even if you did manage some how to get them off without pulling your teeth out, you'd be left with some manky a.ss cement all over your teeth.

Just go to your orthodontist and ask for them off if they are bothering you so much, but i dont see the point in getting them in the first place and going though all that for nothing!

Ive had my braces for 8 months now and i do really hate them, but i wouldn't want them off now or it would have all been a waste of time, at least after all this i should have straight teeth!!
