I can see no reason why this should be harmful in any way.

If the ice is clean than it is perfectly fine, but it will cause a bad disease of the throat. I hope you know that ice is cold, and it is horrible to eat 50 ice cubes a day. Maybe 1 or 2?

Ice is good to chew on as long as it is crushed. That is how they allow it in the hospital.

I have never heard or seen anything that said it had any negative effects. It's just water, water's good for you, and hey if your teeth are up for it! (mine are WAY too sensitive).

yes it is bad for your teeth. your teeth can no handle the pressure of the hard ice cubes. it is really bad for any fillings (can cause them to pop out).
I know this because my mother gets told this every time she sees the dentist (see chews on ice also).

I do the same because I like the feeling, but not as much as you eat the ice. So, I heard it's a thing that people do when they're anemic. I also heard it's bad for the teeth. It might be a destresser for you as well. Because when I chew on ice, I'm usually anxious about the situation I'm in.

Honestly, it's not bad if you don't get sick. But if you have braces, I would stop eating the ice IMMEDIATELY because your braces will break due to the impact of your teeth on ice. Otherwise, it's not really bad, just don't get sick off of the ice!

It's just water! Unless drinking a lot of water is bad for you, then no!
You might want to be careful though because you could get that awful disease called "brain freeze!"

don't bite the big, thick ice cubes! they will make your teeth have cracks! if its that addicting, try smaller ones and don't bite as hard.

Stop! Chewing on ice is horrible for your teeth! It causes microscopic cracks that allow staining to occur, bacteria into your teeth, and eventually breakage. Please, try straws or something.

AS DR. SAM WISELY SAID, CHEWING ICE IS GOOD FOR DENTISTS.
WHY?
BECAUSE CHEWING ON ICE INEVITABLY BREAKS TEETH WHICH ARE SUBJECTED TO THERMAL AND PRESSURE STRESS THAT IS NOT NATURALLY OCCURRING.

It's good for your dentist's income, but bad for your teeth.
The thing is, for SOME reason, people have associated this ice-chewing habit with anemia. I would suggest that you ask your doctor to do a blood test for anemia.
Read down this page until you find "pica" mentioned:

That's pretty rough on your teeth; if you have any weak spots at all, sooner or later one will break. I suggest trying some sugar-free gum instead.
