They are a dental doctor, not a medical doctor. They have earned the title "doctor," as have MD's, DO's, and PhD's. My question: Is an OD a doctor? |

Mean Mr. Clean |
The principles of medicine and surgery apply to the entire body as well as the mouth, so dentists are doctors, ---there are many specific fields of dentistry such as orthodontics, oral surgery, etc. just as there are specific fields of medicine. |
