Me too! I found out yesterday that MY wisdom tooth on bottom left is coming through, not done anything about it yet but it hurts like a ********!!!!!!!!
One of my best friends had hers out in about november last year, which involved injections, lots of moaning and pain before and after the operation!

Afterwards you can change your name to 'Hamstercheeks' - but it won't last.

dont worry it just the same as a normal extraction apart from its more painful when the numbness wears off and it will take alot longer to heal. iv had all my wisdom teeth taken out as none of them were growing straight, but my normal denitst did it as hes qualified to do it in his practice and hes also the dentist at the hospital aswell, so i knew i was in safe hands.
its nothing to worry about i was fine just very sore for about 4 weeks or so but Ibuprofen sorted that out!!!

You will probably have a general anaesthetic, which means you won't feel anything. Might be a bit sore when you wake up though.....

I had 5 teeth removed at the same time - 4 wisdom and another one that needed pulling. They will either put you out or if they think it will be an easy extraction give you a local. They may even ask which you prefer. The process itself isn't bad, but expect swelling and some pain in your jaw. They should give you some pain killers for after the surgery. They gave me a weeks worth but I quit taking them after 3 days because the pain was gone. Everyone differs though so you really can't go just by other peoples experiences.Good luck and i hope everything goes well

owch i feel sorry for ya, its okay while its being taken out but the after pain.... thats nasty hehe.. will just ache for a few days then it should be okay but apart from that you have nothing to worry about, they should give you a local anastetic or something to numb the area around the tooth then they will remove the tooth.

Good luck anyways

OMG!!! have they made any mention to you about local or general Anesthetics? if you have a choicec, go for the general. I had my top right wisdom tooth, and the one underneath it, about ten years ago. I took a local, because it got done quicker, it was horrendous. I kept my eyes tightly closed most of the time but when I opened them there was these tubes filled with blood coming out of my mouth. Whole thing took about 2 hours and I couldnt eat for about two days. Also, the pain afterwards was horrendous. I couldnt sleep and ended up failing an important exam I was taking 5 days later because of it. My dentist said it 'had gone dry socket' (or something) which is when the scab covering the wound comes away and leaves you with this gaping hole. Nice. He put this stuff like grass in it and the pain went away immediately. Looking back I shouldnt have sat in pain for so long but I didnt know what to expect. Be prepared, the whole thing for me was horrid.

In order to have symmetry, normally they remove all the 4 wisdom teeth. Nothing is lost by having them removed. Without any pain, just like that, the Dentist will pluck the tooth. Don't worry. Best of luck!

I had my wisdom teeth removed in the military. I did not want intravenous sedation and I chose to have a local anesthetic. I didn't feel it. It is sore afterwards, especially since the bottoms one were hard to get out. They were growing sideways and not up. They did 2 one day and waited to do the others 2 weeks later. The first two were fine and I had no problems with them. You have to watch for a dry socket. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dry-socket/DS00778

The second two were ok, except that he didn't get all the fragements of the bottom one the second time and it kept hurting until it worked its way out. You can't use a straw at first.

After the tooth is removed, you may need stitches. Some stitches dissolve over time and some have to be removed after a few days. Your dentist will tell you whether your stitches need to be removed. A folded cotton gauze pad placed over the wound will help stop the bleeding.

I had dissovable kind and no real problems. They gave me pain killers which I really did not need or use.

http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/wisdom-tooth-extraction
In most cases, the recovery period lasts only a few days. Take painkillers as prescribed by your dentist or oral surgeon. The following tips will help speed your recovery.

Bite gently on the gauze pad periodically, and change pads as they become soaked with blood. Call your dentist or oral surgeon if you still have bleeding 24 hours after your surgery.
While your mouth is numb, be careful not to bite the inside of your cheek or lip, or your tongue.
Do not lie flat. This may prolong bleeding. Prop up your head with pillows.
Try using an ice pack on the outside of your cheek for the first 24 hours. You can use moist heat-such as a washcloth soaked in warm water and wrung out-for the following 2 or 3 days.
Relax after surgery. Physical activity may increase bleeding.
Eat soft foods, such as gelatin, pudding, or a thin soup. Gradually add solid foods to your diet as healing progresses.
Do not use a straw for the first few days. Sucking on a straw can Loosen the blood clot and delay healing.
After the first day, gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water several times a day to reduce swelling and relieve pain.
Do not smoke for at least 24 hours after your surgery. The sucking motion can Loosen the clot and delay healing. In addition, smoking decreases the blood supply and can bring germs and contaminants to the surgery area.
Avoid rubbing the area with your tongue or touching it with your fingers.
Continue to brush your teeth and tongue carefully.
Your dentist will remove the stitches after a few days, if needed.

You will be fine and do not be afraid to ask questions to the dentist.
