Not a big deal.
Dip it into Mouthwash for about half an hour, then rinse it off and you're ready to rock and roll.

Just get a new one. Germs are so small you may not clean it good anyway.

Well, you seem quite attached to this particular toothbrush, so I guess you aren't willing to give it up and get a new one. I find that to be so funny! Anyway, maybe boil a small pot of water and stick it in there. That should kill most of the germs safely, because you don't want to be using chemicals on the thing you're going to be sticking in your mouth for the next few months! That's all I can think of. Oh, and find a safer spot for your toothbrush since it's so precious! :D

If you already used it after your father did, then whats the difference. If there was anything there to be caught or whatever, its done. If you are really that attached with your retro toothbrush then carry-on. You wouldn't have ever know had you not walked in anyhow.

I used to clean the toilet with my husbands toothbrush (when he made me angry). He is still walking around happy as larry, non the wiser! So just use the silly thing and get over it:-)

If your toothbrush looked old than maybe you should not been using it anyway. Every month I change my toothbrush but the best way to clean it is disinfect it with disinfect and bleach or don't be cheap just buy another. A good toothbrush don't cost anymore than 3-5 dollars. Come on

Buy a new one. Go on the web and see where they sell that brand.
Everyone should get a new tooth brush ever so many months anyway. Like every 4 or 5 months??

clean it with peroxide, it won't hurt you if you get some in your mouth either. in fact you might want to wash your mouth out with some, make sure you spit it out, to get granny's denture germs out of there. lol. I won't share my toothbrush, if someone else used it, it would be in the trash.

I would wash it in Antibacterial Dawn dish soap. Rinse in very, very hot water. Then soak it for an hour in Listerine.

You could just get a new one, but after we are sick or something, I usually soak ours in Listerine. If you ever used it, you know it could remove paint if you needed it too.

Here's an idea: why not buy a new clean brush to use, but keep your old one as a collectible? If someone were to use my toothbrush, even by accident, I'd just toss it out because that's just gross to share brushes.

Ha that's actually funny. I'd just buy another one, but if you really want to keep it then rinse it a few times with either rubbing alcohol or vodka. This will kill germs and bacteria. Peroxide would do the trick too.

I place my toothbrush in boiling hot water for 3 minutes to sterilize it every week, and use Listerine (full strength) to cleanse it in between hot water sterilizations. (its incredible how "dirty" they are, even if they look "clean" everytime you use it, you expose it to the bacteria in your mouth.

I would absolutely buy a new one, even if I couldn't get the same thing as I had before. Heating it, boiling it, cleaning chemicals, or anything else you could do may not necessarily guarantee that you have hygenically cleaned it and also such actions many diminish the integrity and the effectiveness of the toothbrush.

You should probably buy a new one..but if you really want this one... let it soak awhile in bleach than wash it in Antibacterial dish washing detergent ...rinse really well..and it should be fine....the bleach will kill anything on the brush..and the dish washing detergent will clean the bleach off of it....and try not to think about it being used to clean your grandmothers dentures...

Well, it depends on the material of that brush..if it's made of natural brush, you should get a new immediately..if not, you could put it in some disinfectioning liquid for at least 1 hour..wouldn't recommend it..I couldn't stand the thought it was used for a denture!

Rubbing Alcohol..
Soak the toothbrush for at least 30 mins, this will kill 'any'
bacteria and germs on the toothbrush then you can use it
without 'any' concerns at all.
trust me, I know!
