I would go to the dentist, but until then, I would gargle with warm water and two-three times a day listerine(delute if nessessary). Watch what you eat, and I would not brush for two days. But please, go to dentist.

Your gums usually bleed from brushing your teeth to hard and it causesblood to come out because of the brushing.
Try it and tell me if that was the reason.

If your gums bleed, then you probably have scurvy. You should eat more citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruits, an especially green vegetables, you'll get well soon with these, as vitamin C is essential to prevent gum bleeding.

See a dentist. They will prescribe you some antibiotics. You gums will stop bleeding in 3-4 days. Although you'll have to continue to brush regularly, or the bleeding will return.

If your gums are bleeding, then that could be a sign of gingivitis. All you have to do is just start using mouth wash. I personally like Crest, which doesn't use alcohol and has a sweet flavor. But... Listerine might be a better bet for you. *shrugs* Then, you should really clean your toothbrush. Boil some water, and pour it over your brush. That kills all the germs. Toss the toothbrush after 3 months.

It could be your brushing style. I had a similar problem myself; my dentist showed me how to brush, and my gums haven't bled since. Basically, don't drag your brush horizontally in and out of your mouth when you're brushing the sides of your teeth. Instead, gently twist your brush so that the bristles move up and down. Your dentist will show you how to do it. Worked for me!

I assume you mean while flossing? If so, the most important thing is floss daily to prevent gum disease. With gum disease - the gums are weak and inflamed. Small irritation like flossing or picking, etc can make them easily bleed. Flossing regularly and getting rid of the gum disease will result in stronger gums and no bleeding.
If your gums are bleeding without any irritation - or if you are an easy "bleeder" in other areas also - nose, cuts, etc. Then you may want to see a doctor to see if you have a bleeding problem of any sort. It can be as simple as a low Vitamin C or it can be something more serious.
Most likely you just need to floss a bit more. I sure do also. My wife is a dental hygienist and is always getting on my case about flossing more. I prefer Listarine. Oh well. WELL, good luck.

A healthy mouth will never bleed.
I saw alot of answers with "brush your teeth" or "use listerine".
I'll bet money that people who only brush their teeth would have bleeding gums if they flossed properly.
Many people think that Listerine is working because it burns. Listerine is only as good as 'flossing ABOVE the gum line' (read the fine print on their commercial).
Listerine is FULL of alcohol, by the way, which dries out your mouth, which allows more harmful bacteria to grow in there. Use Crest Pro Health. It is a good as Listerine, but no alcohol and no burn.
You need to floss correctly, BELOW the gum line. Your gums will bleed and be sore at first, but soon they will be completely healthy.

You need to floss and brush thoroughly. The blood is there to fight the plaque and bacteria that is clinging to your gums, probably from left-over food particles. After a few days or maybe a week or two, the bleeding should lessen.
The same thing used to happen to me, but I then stopped flossing which was the worst thing I could do. The dental assistant explained it all to me.

If you can follow three easy steps you can eliminate bleeding and painful gums associated with gum disease
In less than 5 minutes a day you can stop bleeding gums. Just follow these three steps:
Step one: Rinse and Clean
Rinse you mouth with a good disinfectant mouth rinse and clean your tongue with a special Tongue Scraper
Step two: Brush and Floss
Clean your teeth by brushing with a soft toothbrush and disinfectant toothpaste and flossing between your teeth
Step three: Apply PerioQ
Apply PerioQ to the gum line with the applicator before going to bed. Done!
PerioQ goes to work immediately to recondition your gum tissue and helps to regenerate gums damaged by gum disease. PerioQ is not just another antiseptic – it actually gives your gums what they need to get healthy again after the ravaging attacks of bacteria associated with gum disease. And Coenzyme Q10 is a natural substance found in every cell in the body, so it is totally safe to use!

Sounds like you might have the start of gingivitis which is serious. You need to see your dentist and get your teeth/gums checked out. In the meantime brush with listerine and use a water pik. Make an appointment with your dentist right away though as gingivitis is serious so you need to get this checked out.
