I had the same thing a couple of weeks ago, my tooth hurt like hell I took some tylonal which barrelly helped at all and finally a couple hours later I finally got to sleep. The next morning I had a little pain but nearly as bad, after a seconds night's rest the pain was completely gone though.
You should probably go to a dentist, as should I but I know I probably have several cavities and I can't afford to pay for them so I'm putting it off...

go to the dentist, if your in that much pain you can take cocodamol when pregnant, unless you have adverse effects to it or your allergic.
when i was about 35wk pg i got extreme ear ache and went to the hospital, she told me there i can take cocodamol - if you want confirmation of this, ring your midwife.
but you need to treat the cause of the problem hun!

Yes honey. You need a root canal because it sounds like a root is dying. Do you notice that it happens right after you eat or drink practically anything? Your nerve is exposed. You won't get rid of that pain until a root canal is done. In the meantime, go to your local drug store and get the little kit for temporary fillings. Use it when there is no pain and it won't let sugars or cold or hot send you on that white knuckle ride of pain. I feel for you honey and congratulations on your upcoming little arrival. You probably should stop taking pain meds like that. Try to get to see the dentist. Actually, an endodontist is probably who you should see. They are sticky about payment plans depending on where you live. This answer pertains if the pain comes on like a freight train and then subsides where you have no pain until you eat or drink something again. Hope this helps. :)

Go to the dentist. There is NO reason why they cannot treat you, including Xrays. Much better to treat it than keep dosing up on painkillers, ... and probably not eating or sleeping well.

you can go and see your gp as they can prescribe antibiotics for toothache but just explain your situation!it sounds like u could have a abcess in this case if its so painful then go to your nearest a&e as there are hospital dental departments that can also prescribe them.and give u appropriate antibiotics as your pregnant!good luck x

The only way to get rid for good is to go dentist.
Otherwise put sum whiskey on a cotton bud and dab it around the area of the bad tooth. It will ease the pain for a little while.
Congrats and good luck with the baby!

Yes I do...go see the dentist, for both you and your unborn child, not a good idea to be continually taking painkillers, you get it sorted and good luck.

I'VE HAD LOTS OF TOOTHACHES...THIS IS SAFE FOR YOU SINCE YOU ARE PREGNANT & ALSO WORKS LIKE A CHARM... BUY A BOTTLE OF CLOVES ($1) THEY DONT TASTE GOOD, BUT TRY IT, I PROMISE IT WORKS!!!
PUT THE CLOVES-ABOUT 3 OR 4-BY THE TOOTH THAT HURTS AND LEAVE IT THERE. DON'T SPIT. THE SALIVA FROM THE CLOVES WILL NUMB THE TOOTHACHE. USE IT AS NEEDED!!

You might need a root canal or an extraction. The tooth might be infected. Get it X-rayed by a good dentist and hopefully s/he will show you a darkened area on the X-ray if it is infected. I wouldn't mention the high intensity of the pain because it might increase the chance s/he will say that my tooth is infected whether it is or not. Myself I have gotten probably better at evaluating the X-rays for infection than the standard dentist.
Before seeing the dentist, work on it yourself, at least by brushing and maybe also by delicate flossing and using antiseptic Mouthwash. I have a toothbrush sanitizer but you might want to put the toothbrush head in antiseptic Mouthwash for about an hour before using it to kill old bacteria and viruses.

try your local a&e department. that's where i went when i had bad toothache and couldn't see a dentist. or you should at least phone a nhs dentist and tell them you are in severe pain. they have an obligation to treat you if you are in pain. good luck.

If you're in the UK, as a pregnant woman all dental work should be free on the NHS.
So go and see a dentist, now; and make sure you tell them you are pregnant.

If you're pregnant then dental treatment should be free! Get yourself to your nearest NHS walk-in centre and don't leave until they do something (you may have a long wait, so take food and something to read!). You can "find your nearest..." on the NHS website by typing in your postcode. Check the dentists too, ring round all of them to see if any are taking on new NHS patients and tell them you are pregnant!
The key is just not to take "No" for an answer -especially if you are there face to face -they will have to help you if you don't leave!
Good luck, I hope you get it fixed, toothache is the worst.
