My two front teeth are uneven and i have an overbite and i have a tooth so far in my gum that i have a bump in my gum. Do I ahve to have braces?Additional Details ...

my gums are so pink? is that a problem. every persons gum i see is so red are just red. everyone at school is wondering why my gums are so pink.

Olivia J	You don't have to - but you probably should. You'll be happy that you did when you're older. A beautiful smile is extremely important, and straight teeth are easiest to clean. You could try invisalign retainers if you don't like the look of braces - or you could ask if you could get them on the backs of your teeth.

Toshibo H	Yes i reccomend it. Go to the orthodontist for a screening at least, it's worth it. do it fast too. He might not give you braces, he might reccomend surgery for that tooth in your gum. then braces. but really it's he who knows.

Kay	I had braces for 1 12 years because of crowding, and an overbite. :( If you're concerned about it, just ask your dentist.

Bobberts	I would if I were you. My teeth weren't too bad, but I still got braces. They may be a pain in the butt, but they're worth it.

Jake	Some Dentist and fix teeth just by pulling a few, and everything will fall into place. That is what happened to my mom. That did not work for me. Getting braces is worth it though, even within 1 week of getting them my bottom teeth were straightened quite a bit. I'm almost at the 1 year mark and my huge overbite is almost gone. Do you have to have them? Thats up to you and your family.

Diane	I would get them, I HAVE them. Just warning you, they WILL hurt for a few days and from time to time, but the outcome is wonderful. :) Half a year left!

Joe	You should. You might even have to if it really affects your jaw and bite. Its worth it and they'll be off before you know it.

Simone W	yea i have dem now all i had waz a lil overbite and i had dis tooth waz all da way up in mi gum and dey pulled it out it didnt hurt and den dey put these spacers in da middle of your teeth but not all of them jus certain ones i had to wear thoes for bout 1 week or 2 weeks and dey started hurtin i waz cryin but i dont kno bout u

FishStory	Nope, braces are up to you. If you want healthy teeth, a matching bite and even teeth, then you should consult an orthodontist.

Abs	You dont HAVE to, but its probably a good idea, doesnt hurt anything. And for the gum thing, they ARE supposed to be pink, pink gums show a sign of good oral hygiene, red, swollen gums indicate gum problems.

just me	Sounds like it yea. But it's not so bad I had braces when I was old already and I lived through it. Go ask your dentist.

fathead	An orthodontist will be able to tell you. My advice is to get it done as early as possible if you need alignment...while your mouth/body is still changing. Also make sure you follow the directions to the letter; wear the elastics, etc. and always, ALWAYS wear your retainer after you get them taken off.

Dude	Yes, a couple of my friends have the tooth in gum problem. I have an overbite and crooked teeth. Unfortunitly this means unles you can live with it than you need braces or some kind of orthodontic treatment.
