I do sometimes as the cold water here is icy and makes my teeth sensitive.
I use the hot water to rinse my brush as I think it makes it more hygienic.

No. Warm water is bad for cleaning your teeth because bacteria reproduce quicker in warm conditions and it will increase the possibility of dire plaque.

That is disgusting, the warm water you are brushing your teeth with has been standing in the water tank for days. Cold water is always fresh.

You should ALWAYS use water from the cold tap - it is pure. Hot water isn't pure unless it's been boiled and will not do the enamel on your teeth much good either. I think you ought to have a word with your dentist the next time you see him. He may be able to put some sense into your head.

No, cold always. I was always taught that the hot water in the bathroom/kitchen came from a tank inside the house, where the water would be pretty stagnant, and not safe to drink or use for teeth. The cold water runs straight in from the mains, and is always moving, so it's cleaner and safer.
I always run the tap for a minute or two before brushing teeth or filling a drink or kettle too. Not the most environmentally friendly way to do it, maybe, but it's what I do!

Its not good to drink or brush your teeth with hot water. Here's why:
The insides of a hot water heater contain metals that can, and do corrode. Some of the pipes in your home that are not made of PVC may have lead soldering. Hot water will dissolve metals, especially lead, much quicker than cold water will. Not to mention that over the years of daily use of drawing gallons throughout the day in cycles causes the water from the local utility, with all of it's impurities to collect and precipitate in the bottom of the hot water heater. This is a prime breeding ground for bacteria.

Ew yuck, if you'd seen the contents of your hot water tank, you wouldn't do it (thats presuming you havent got a combi boiler)
I used to be a gas fitter and the majority of water tanks in your loft have dead birds and mice in them. The water isnt filtered from this tank and will be going straight on your brush
You'll also soften the bristles on your toothbrush and therefore wont be cleaning your teeth as well as you could
