Not at all. They do put a piece of plastic between your teeth that you have to bite down on.....sometimes it can be a little uncomfortable. But it doesn't hurt at all.

No pain, but it's slightly uncomfortable, as if you were biting down on cardboard.

Not really, it's just a bit of foam and plastic that you have to hold still in your mouth for a few seconds, nothing to worry about at all.

No they don't hurt, they're only x-rays. What ever you do, don't try to bite the assistant. That is so tacky, and it might make them angry.

Don't worry. I've had SOOO many. You stand on their xray thing, you bite down onto it, a giant metal camera circles your head, and you're done.
It may sound weird, but it's quick, painless, and easy.

OMG! When I had to have x-rays done they took about twenty of them. It was the worst experience ever. You have to bite on plastic, the plastic scratches your gums, and the inserts make you gag because of the way they are placed in your mouth. They use this hard rectangular plastic. Their was a lot of discomfort.

they stick a little plastic thing in your mouth that you bite (like a mouth guard) and stick a camera next to your face. that's 'bout it. they're especially cool if you have a tounge ring (or three, like me) because you can see them on the x-rays. made me giggle. but no sweat, it's totally painless.

No they don't hurt. Any discomfort comes from having to hold the hard film thing in your mouth for the second or two it takes for the dentist to press the button to take the picture.

Probably the least painful dental procedure of all. It can be a bit uncomfortable and sometimes the film thing hurts a bit against the gums, but that is about it.

You have to bite down on film enclosed in a stterile cover so the x=ray can be taken. It's a minor discomfort for a few seconds. It doesn't hurt.
I am afraid too many x=rays will make my teeth glow in the dark and I will be visable to aliens on Mars.

Nope. They put plastic coated metal plates into your mouth, give you an apron to wear, sit you down, and you do not feel anything.

They are just little plastic things.
It doesn't hurt, but it is a little uncomfortable.
Don't worry.
It's just like a thick piece of plastic. Literally.

No. Just go for it. Little discomfort when they they ask you to turn your face this way and that way but it is better than keeping the tooth and then bear the unbearable pain. Toothache is worst.

Ok... I'm young and I've gone to a detist my whole life. It may be uncomfortable at first cause this little plastic thing is put in your mouth and it's not the most flexable thing in the world. It doesn't hurt and it's all for a good reason. You can't always see th cavity so they take x-rays to see which teeth may or may not have cavities.

X-rays are just high Energy photons, a form of light - you shouildn't feel a thing.
Only one thing, don't get any more X-rays (even dental) than is absolutely necessary. Personally, I don't like ionizing radiation around my head.

If you have a problem like tooth ache or something and they do it the old fashion way it will be painful to bite down, but if you don't have any pain already..it will just be a bit uncomfortable. It's nothing compared to what happens if you have major work done. I hate the dentist...I would almost rather have a baby.

It may depend, but for dental x-rays, they typically put a lead vest on you (it's not too heavy), and they put this thing in your mouth that you have to bite down on. It's painless.

No pain at all. All they do is put this small piece of cardboard between your cheek and gums for like 4 seconds. The cardboard contains x-ray film.

Dental xray can be unconfortable. I am a dental hygienist (for 12 years) and I can tell you, it depends on how the xray are taken, how small your mouth is and the technique used.
I work with a pediatric office and a general office. At the pedo office, I have nothing to put into a patients mouth other than the xray. At the general office, I can bend the xrays to make them more comfortable for the patient and when I place them into the mouth, I try to get more toward the middle of the mouth becasue the floor of the mouth is shaped like a "V" with the deepest point in the middle of the mouth.
I can take an entire full mouth series without using any equiptment at all in the patients mouth where as other dental professional have to us the bulky equiptment. So more or less sying is that if the person taking the xray has been in the profession for a while xray can be slightly uncomfortable, but not rip up the inside of your mouth.
