yes they can. i really don't think they'd tell your parents. i smoked for years and my teeth never yellowed....however, i brushed my teeth many times a day. when i would have my teeth cleaned, the dentist was quite surprised to find out i was a smoker. he told me he usually can always tell because there is usually a faint line on the back of the teeth from smoking. i hope this helps.

easily, smoking deoxidises the blood, which will therefore cause your gums to be a lighter colour, also no matter how much you febreeze a top or how much perfume you put on theres always that undertone of "na your alright, shes a smoker"

It would be unlikely that he would not smell it. Depending on how much you smoke and for how long, there will also be typical smokers tarter on the teeth and there may be leukoplakia, the white pre-cancerous changes in the mucosa of the cheeks.
No he won't tell your mum! If you feel guilty about it, it already shows that you know it is the wrong thing to do. Why not stop?
